maybe the song shouldn\'t have an ending, just like drift off in space and into another song.
Love many, trust few and don\'t be late.

Okay, tB owns the blues!!!  When they play blues they play it like no one else I have ever heard.  The latest Iron Horse was the perfect example of this.  Awakening was a blues masterpiece at that show, the slow parts during the first movement though are my favorite.  Tim\'s solo was incredible and Jordan is so great at bluesy organ playing and he showcased it well that night.

Then The Vermont Song from that show holy effin\' ****!!!!  The guitar solo was amazing deep down dirty blues.  There is no better medium for emotional expression than the blues.  I mean it\'s named after a feeling, what other genre\'s of music have that going for them?

Oh and as for the blues ending in Love Lake, the old ending was better I think.  tB can play the blues as great as they want, it still won\'t make that ending fit with the song just like Yanni can\'t cover Metallica.
If trees could scream do you think we would be so cavalier to cut them down? Maybe if they screamed all the time for no good reason.

Probably the worst thing about having King Kong run rampant in your town would be the huge, monster genitalia.

I wish I had a kryptonite cross, because then I could keep Dracula and Superman away.

None taken...  I\'m sure I do, but ignorance is bliss as they say.  I just think that the blues are very guitar driven.  Tim = Best guitarist ever  well I guess you can draw the parallel.  But seriously, if you weren\'t at the latest Iron Horse give it a listen, those bluesy songs we crazy.  Okay so tB isn\'t Government Mule, but they\'re still damn good at the blues...

i wasn\'t there, but i have heard it. tim has the notes down, but its the feel to those notes that he still needs some work on. don\'t get me wrong, unless you\'re born and raised on the blues, it takes a while to get them down. 20 guitar-years later and i\'m still working on them. and frankly, given the level of maturity the band has been bursting with lately, its probably only a matter of time before i retract these statements, but i saw someone say that the most recent rufus blues jam was very srv-like and smokin\' and it simply wasn\'t. it was cliched runs and licks played well and fast, but didn\'t really have the soul behind them, that stinging fury and bliss all rolled up into one, that really marks great blues playing.

now, that being said, you mentioned something about how jordan has a great blues organ sound, and i totally agree.

Very true, that\'s a great post jking.  That\'s a very good description of the blues.  I didn\'t hear the bluesy Rufus though so I can\'t concur with or dispute your view.  I\'m not goign to go against what you said about runs and what Tim played but your really can\'t get a more cliche\'d type of music than blues, they\'ve been done and done again.  You\'re right it\'s the feeling that makes the blues the blues, not the notes (well except that flat 5th).

The old ending with the round = cheesy! I dig the blues ending. There\'s something unsettling about the transition that makes it work for me because it amazes me every time how the emotion can carry over so well between two completely different styles. It\'s like a nice long breath before the ending lands.

They should just stretch out the "Swim at the love lake!" part for an additional 10-15 minutes and skip the blues ending, imo.

I don\'t really mind the blues ending (though Eppy3 blues is the best blues PB ever pulled off imo) but I think the "Swim at the love lake!" part should be extended because it kicks so much ass.
