jack has been kind of a loose cannon since day one, but at the very beginning, he was exactly what everyone needed to just make snap decisions keep things moving in SOME direction. but now, i think his style for making random judgment calls is kind of obsolete... looking forward to learning more about jacob.
me too, but i don\'t agree with his perspective on his daughter. he allowed her to get killed. he had fair warning and threw a hissyfit when the dude saw through his manipulative nature and called his bluff. i don\'t understand how ben can blame widmore and go after penny. after this past episode, i wonder if widmore is not the horrible dude ben makes him out to be. i guess that\'s the real appeal to the show, not knowing who the good guys are...

nah, this makes perfect sense to me; ben is manipulative and has always had things go his way. He\'s always had an upper edge and knew something that could turn any situation in his favor. All of a sudden he was stuck, so he bluffed and was called on it. I\'m not saying he never bluffed before, but this was the first time (I think) he had it called and lost something as a result. Since he doesn\'t know how to deal with loosing, he freaked out and threw a tantrum (this isn\'t suppose to happen/have the smoke kill them). He\'s just a little brat who never learned how to cope with not winning all the time. Now it\'s just the classic eye for an eye plot.
