I saw this movie for the first time, On Demand, this weekend....

Probably one of the most original and clever movies I have seen.....

Will Farrell was really great playing an IRS agent who keeps hearing this womans voice narrating his life.  He definitely had the "straight man" schtick down.  Though his hilariousness does pop up here and there.  A great blend.....

Maggie Gyllenhall(sp) was good as a baker being audited.  I think she usually has the tendency to overact at times and it appeard she was going to be overacting all over the place from her first scene in the movie, but she toned it down and was probably my favorite character other than Farrell in the movie.  Her breasts were subtully featured throughout her entire roll in the movie

Dustin Hoffman- was pretty good as the literature professor Farrell contacted regarding the narrative going on in his head.

Emma Thompson - I didnt like her initially as the excentric author, but she definitely grew on me through the film...

The only thing I couldnt figure out, thought I was sucked into the story from the get-go, was what city was this story supposed to be taken place in.  At times it appeared to be NYC, but then at times it was obvious it wasnt.  Maybe the local of the film was supposed to be ambiguous, but it definitely had me thinking after the movie ended....

We dl\'d it a few weeks ago & really liked it too!  The author was definitely a bit of an oddball.  I didn\'t really get her inclusion of the kid on the bike and the bus driver until later, then everything made sense.  Overall, it was a really well written and directed movie.  :thumbsup:

We just watched this a few weeks ago. Great movie! It looked like it was set in Chicago. But, having never been there, I\'m just basing this on photos and films I\'ve seen of Chicago.

Word.
Nice sleuthing there Mr Anderson.....

However, though the film was actually filmed in Chicago, that doesnt necessarilly mean it is actually set there...

Either way, good looks.

Did you get this off of pay-per-view or on-demand from HBO, Encore, Starz, etc?
Love many, trust few and don\'t be late.

It was off of Digital IO from Cablevision\'s "Movies on Demand", so to answer your question I would go with Pay Per View as it is a newer release and not yet on any of the PayTV movie stations....

Great movie loved it.  I\'ve got the DVD, and I watched the extra featrures.  It was filmed in Chicago but it\'s supposed to be "Anycity USA"

I dont want to ruin the movie for anyone planning on seeing it, but I was wondering if there was an alternate ending maybe......  However I really liked the ending.....
