A thoroughly enjoyable movie. AWESOME soundtrack if you like Rock and Roll from the 60\'s. I **** love this movie. I think I\'m going to watch it again tonight. It\'s a bit long just over 2 hours but it flies by. Excellent casting and great acting.
ROCK and ROLL!!!!!!!
I always loved this story and given how much the music industry has changed, I think it\'s something good for the kids to see these days. Can\'t wait to check it out and see how closely they followed the actual history.
Somewhere between a "Best In Show" styled mockumentary and a VH1 Behind The Music lies the tale of fake country music legend Guy Terrifico. This movie starts out feeling cheap and contrived, but quickly sucks you in, until you forget that Guy Terrifico didn\'t really exist.
Two things legitamize this movie. First, the countless interviews with some of the biggest country and rock and roll stars of the Sixties and Seventies. Ronnie Hawkins, Merle Haggard, Levon Helm, Chris Kristofferson, etc., all give accounts of performing and partying with Guy that seem so honest, that you wonder how the creators of this movie got such natural performances from these guys. The second element is the music. This movie was written and directed by Michael Mabbott, and all the music was written by him and the films star Matt Murphy (Guy Terrifico). They do a great job of capturing that late Sixties country rock style.
If you\'re a fan of The Flying Burrito Brothers, the Band, Dylan, etc etc, you need to see this movie. Set your expectations low, but be ready for surprises.
Just saw this last month on Showtime I think it was. Absolutely stellar. Yes the interviews are so authentic you do forget they are talking about a fictional person. I actually had to check out who did the music because it was so damn good. Def. an A+ music movie.
up in the air was a good movie...as well as it\'s complicated, it was my mom\'s pick but i have to say mr baldwin was hilarious!
