The producers of the Daily Show realized that Colbert was outgrowing his role on the show. The same thing happened with Carrell but instead of letting Colbert get away they talked to him about creating the Colbert Report. It turned out to be a great idea that has benefitted everyone involved.

I think that Colbert has been better than Jon for a while. I think that the guy doing the foreign correspondence for the Daily Show is the best part of that show now.

when colbert is at his best he is the best, but the daily show never really gets on my nerves where colbert can at times.
The crickets and the rust-beetles scuttled among the nettles of the sagethicket. "Vamanos amigos," he whispered, and threw the busted leather flintscraw over the loose weave of the saddlecock. And they rode on in the friscalating dusklight.  --Eli Cash

I just feel like they recycle the same material over and over from the same angle.

I am pretty much all set with Bush jokes at this point. They\'ve all been made, and it seems dull and redundant.

Dunno maybe I just don\'t watch them enough. I really hard watch tv ever. Unless there are friends over who want to watch....
