Come to think of it......I like panic, but not thaaaaaaaaaaat much.
OK OK consensus seems to be WSP rocks. let\'s jock some other bands now huh? I know this is gonna sound wierd but anyone listen to Iron Maiden lately. If there was ever a Heavy Metal jamband they are it. I saw the most psychedelic metal show ever last time I saw them. Their last 2 albums are insane!! Most songs are in the 6-9 minute range and in concert woah! Their new 3 guitar line-up is RIPPING!!!!!!!
What is it about WSP that they simply cannot get anyone north of the Mason-Dixie line to get into them? Up north, they\'ve gone over about as well as slavery and grits. It\'s weird. Maybe we\'re all just deaf ignorant
****.

LOL! That is pretty damn funny there, Wolfman. I do love me some grits though...
leith, what do yo uknow about anthrax??and no,i dont mean the disease silly..among the living is still one of my favorite albums of all time, and state of euphoria is pretty ser too!
Last time I saw Anthrax was 4 years ago in some dump in Torrance. It was wierd because the time before that was early 90\'s and they were opening for Maiden. Lovin\' Anthrax since back in \'83/\'84. Little Hessian turned deadhead that\'s me.
Trey Anastasio Band. Seen five outstanding shows. Horn section dominates the performance. Everyone else chimes in. A mixture of of many musical styles. Diverse original compositions: some long, some short; some simple, some complex; some lyrically-based, some instrumentally-based. Jams of high quality in terms of energy and musicianship. A band that obviously enjoys performing. Wide-ranging covers (Caravan, Root Down, Black Dog). Two long sets. Give a try to Plasma or any of the shows from the spring tour, which are available for download.
Pitch
TAB rips!! I was so happy when Trey decided to expand the band. I\'ve seen a bunch of TAB and though not Phish, I danced just as hard and cried tears of joy just the same.
Although their horns "dominate", and despite the fact that they are great to dance to, I think their horn section is very... safe... in its playing. But I suppose that is the type of horn playing that typically goes with that type of music. (Especially the funkier songs... horn sections in funk bands are rarely something to write home about.) Sonny Rollins would sound weird up there.
This is not a dis of the band, however, I like what the brass brings to the band. I just think there is room for more... know what I mean?
Like Phish w/ horns ? That is something I never tire of. Trey writes the most insane parts for horns on Phish songs. If any of you back east know a killer horn player turn them on to PB!!!!
Tim playing off of some sick sax would be da
****.
THE GRATEFUL DEAD ARE THE BEST.
Also: ABB, Max Creek, Uncle Sammy was good, DTB, Depth Quartet, Steve Kimock, PLQ of course.
