SerialPod is Trey Anastasio, Mike Gordon and Bill Kreutzmann (of GD fame). My understanding is that this trio debuted at Warren Haynes\' 17th Annual Christmas Jam. They have a soundcheck available for
download and supposedly have a video coming out in 2006. The soundcheck sounds alright. Did anyone download the Christmas Jam or know if a recording of this trio exists from that night? The recording
exists here.
Does anyone know if this is a one-time deal that they just decided to put together for the evening? or is this a project that we will see more of in the coming year? I read this information off of
Treys Site.
The rumor I have been hearing as of late is that Trey and Mike have been writing material (not necessarily for a Phish reunion) but have come together to play it from time to time. I just wonder if this SerialPod is another Oysterhead trio or something new.
Probably real old news now that I googled it and found out more about the entire situation.
i d/l\'ed the show right after the xmas jam. i thought it blew. low energy, sloppy, hell, even billy sounded bored and he\'s one of my favorite drummers of all time. there\'s about 15 minutes worth of decent music out of the entire show, imho. as far as i understood it, this was a one-off deal, unless everyone in the band thought it was awesome. i was really excited to hear what they might sound like, but now i really hope they just leave it as is. disappointing.

This is not a reveiw I want to her. But thanks for the real info on it. Most people would just say it was alright.....
I heard they would do a tour(SPod)... but I also hear Trey is taking money for solo shows late spring.. I guess he has lowered his asking price this time... I know others might not agree but I hope Trey does his solo stuff.. I like it more than anything Phish did after 97 or so.... The Great Went was the last of the old school phish... Jumping the shark at Cypress.....

I kinda agree. After seeing Trey solo this past November, I felt that Trey was doing what he wanted and he enjoyed it. With a little consistentcy Treys solo project has a good possibility to work. I hope it does because I was really impressed.
I get the feeling that Trey, Mike etc. will play together from time to time but none of them wants to commit to a defined project. If they just make up a name for each incarnation then no expectations can be set. No one can say "Serialpod is these three guys and they play songs in this style." Instead each event is special and has no boundaries.
I would not be surprised to see Trey lower his ticket price for his solo(70v) shows. Within months he went from playing two nights at Hammerstein to one night at Jones Beach and then one night at Roseland. I don\'t imagine he will move to a smaller venue again but I can imagine slightly lower prices.
I meant he lowered his fee(thousands)..... The venues will probably raise the ticket price like everything else, doubt they will be lower... Just means Trey may play more college type shows ... Like ME and NJ from the last tour.....
Been listening to pieces of this set and like jking said, it ain\'t nothing special. Kinda dull. My questions is, what are they doing singing On A Plain?
