to even begin discussing the current state of this "ghetto hip hop culture" as someone earlier put it takes more time than I spend on this board. Basically one would need to start with the origins of Africans in American- foolishly accepted as African Americans-which was slavery, an event that ripped out a people from thier roots, destroyed the concept of family, and has plagued generations with ideological falsities. Trace the time and events from slavery until present day, and one can see the uphill struggle to say the least..some people (B.I.G.) have to sell crack to feed thier baby daugthers..oh, and thier is a huge difference between hip hop, and commercial rap. things can be much more manageable/understandable from various vantage points..

I might have or should have mentioned that I am an American Civilizations history major. I have spent years studying different aspects of american civilization and one that I find interesting and did not mean to add any offense by was, "the ghetto hip-hop culture". While it is debatable what one can view it as, it is something that has deteriorated since the early 90\'s. Yes, B.I.G. is one of the Top Hip-Hoppers of our life time but todays game just ain\'t the same as the game he played. it\'s all good either way.
If you want my definition of Ghetto Hip Hop Culture I can give you one but, what fun would that be. It would be as boring as what I just wrote.
As far as hippie\'s go and red necks, I am closer to a redneck (grew up in Wallyworld, didn\'t celebrat Martin Luther King day until a few year ago, I actually went to High School with some of the smucks in the Klan, not proud of it but it did happen). Also, I am not trying to be a hippie because well, this ain\'t the 60\'s and young adults today just rather act like a hippie then be a hippie. You need to be the ball...

This is America... if people want to rap about killin\', slangin\', pimpin\', they baby mama / daddy, etc., that\'s all fine & dandy... more power to em. It doesn\'t mean that I have to like it, listen to it, support it, or that I can\'t say I don\'t like it.
Barely a month goes by that some dude in some rapper\'s entourage doesn\'t shoot someone or get get shot. I think it just recently happened w/ fity cent.... evidentally, these guys enjoy living the "thug life"... they make millions of dollars, live the life of Riley, and guess what... many of them still end up in jail because they are too stupid to grasp that fact that if you act like a thug, you will eventaully end up in prison with the rest of the thugs... or better yet, you will end up dead. Look at Suge Knight.... the dude must have millions in the bank, yet he still gets put in jail for assulting people... real smart... this dude must be in mensa.
