For the most part, I\'m a traditional 3-5 minute song guy

n00b

Trust me, I\'m not a noob, but not every songs needs to be jammed out...  I wasn\'t actually referencing Phish with that comment, it\'s that besides enjoying some jamband music, I also enjoy traditional radio friendly rock music...

If phish played an average of 3-5 mins a song, I would not be a Phish fan.

I like where they are at now, a good mix of song, short and long. No need to have all extended jams that go nowhere. If the jam is good, keep it going, but if they hit a dead end, they are now stopping, going in a different direction, or finishing the song and moving on.

Okay, again, the comment above stated that the comment was not pointed towards Phish, but I\'ll give you an example.  Hartford in December of \'99, the boys covered Drowned, a 5 minute song was stretched out to over 30 minutes of ambient jamming that had nothing to do with the song... In that instance, I prefer to hear the song Drowned and then another 2 or 7-10 minute songs...

Chicago was a sweet show. Great start with the atmosphere--everyone in the stands bum-rushed the GA floor as soon as Kill Devil Falls began and the helpless security guards were up in arms. The Curtain With was no doubt the first set highlight, and Gumbo was a treat (I\'m pretty sure twas a first time for me). Overall a decent opening set, TCW the heavy hitter, with KDF and Ocelot growing on me more with each listen.

Second set started out on a semi-bummer note with Backwards, but from Carini on it was a partay. I always hated Gotta Jibboo on Farmhouse, and loved it live, this occurrence solidifying that sentiment. First Theme From The Bottom live--awesome **** tune on BB and great being able to belt out "So I ask you whhhhyyyyy" with an excited bunch amidst the silky bass grooves. The rest of the set plus encore was just vintage Phish, only downer being a mediocre Hood jam, but nothing that ruined the feeling.

SquirMEHing Coil?! Get your head out of your stankhole guy! I hope they play Undermind first set, Joy second for you dsNumbnuts. Don\'t forget the mediocre Fluffhead costume to improve your sub-par attitude....

Anybody got extra room in a SPAC bound car?
A man who has seen the things I have seen,
experienced the loss and pain I have experienced,
I transcend race, hombre.
