i hear what you guys are saying about them sounding boring via live show download, but seeing them live is a tooootally different experience.

this show was intensely epic.

i\'m gonna say the onus is now on radiohead to outperform these guys. that\'s how good the show was.

right off the bat, they came out rocking. and the lead guy was so thankful and appreciative to play radio city, saying they would not take it for granted and that they wanted to soak up all the energies of past greats who had graced the stage. awesome. they proceeded to play for an hour and a half balls to the wall, then took literally only a 5 minute set break, and then came out and destroyed the place for another hour. people were going crazy. and the energy radiating from the stage was just infectious.

one of the best parts of the show was the lighting rig. it is absolutely incredible. and it is used perfectly. at times you thought you were about to explode with the energy of the light, i swear to god (and i was completely sober, btw). at other times you thought you were on a space ship about to take off or something. it was flat out spectacular. not to be missed. check \'em if you ever get the chance.

you forgot to mention the flying v=pure gold
take the E to the A to the D...you\'ll be all set

Well after reading this thread I checked out what they had on concert.tv. last night. I forced myself to sit through it. I couldn\'t stand one minute of it! Sorry.

ya know, i\'m torn about these guys.... i like about half of every song of theirs, but i don\'t like the other half enough that i never have the patience to sit through a whole show or even song. i think mainly its his vocals that i don\'t like.  if they were an instrumental band, then i think i\'d like them better... and i *despise* his falsetto, so it doesn\'t help that it seems like he manages to slip it into most of their tunes....

jim james was great yesterday at newport folk fest (as was trey). his voice and songs were perfect for the weather/atmosphere. and he kind of looked like Mandler.look at pic 4 of 8 in the photos section on the NPR link below. heres a good sounding stream:
