I haven\'t written them off completely yet.  Just shackman is on the scrap pile for now.  Perhaps the other Album you mentioned will actually have a groove.

Who wants Shackman?  Maybe you all know that it sucks because nobody has been eager to claim it yet.

Shackman definitely does nothing to showcase the talent of those 3 gentlemen.

Do you already have Shackman?  If not, it\'s your\'s.  I will have to check out "It\'s a jungle..." next time I am in the hood (most likely 2 weeks from now).

I am not going to take a gamble with an MMW album.  I am saving my pennies for Real Radio, Zones, upcoming PB shows, Staven eggplant parmesan, and a possible move to CA in the coming months.

You buy and I will listen.

Just to add some more fuel to the fire, I don\'t like MMW either!! Very nearly put them in my contribution to this thread.

Have downloaded a couple of shows and wasn\'t impressed at all - so unimpressed tha I didn\'t even bother to burn them as trading material. Got nothing against jazzy improvisation without rigid structures - hell, I love miles\' fusion period and also stuff from the classic Canterbury era eg Soft Machine and Matching Mole; for many years, too, my favourite musician was Rick Wakeman, a man not known for giving the guitar a lead role, but mmw don\'t do it for me at all. Great musicians, but, yes, I will resist the temptation not to use the word, monotonous.

Still, to each their own.

Sorry Freddie, that is a rare occurance. I try to keep it clean, at least, PG-13, on here.

Boombox, I can totally understand how someone could not like them; at least you appreciate their TALENT as musicians.

Hey, hey!  Come November 22, this guy will be only 1 year away from being able to order a beer at a place not owned by Cliffy.
Go see your Breakfast, there are starving Leiths in California

MMW..Toads place the beginning of December..cant wait. Al, you should plan your eggplant dinner accordingly. See em to believe em. they are not a band i would trek too far to hear or even on consecutive nights, but a trio that can do some interesting things live.
sleep a lot...eat a lot, brush em like crazy. Run a lot...do a lot, never be lazy..

I guess I will just bring Shackman with me to the next show I attend in a couple weeks.  Since everyone knows that Shackman sucks, no on here wants it.  I will have to wait till everyone gets drunk at a Breakfast show before I can convince anyone one to take it.

I agree with the guy who said Shostakovich rocks and Mozart SUCKS.
In terms of Jam bands I like the now defunct OMINOUS SEAPODS! If you don\'t have Matinee Idols by the Ominous Seapods, you gotta get it.

Band that I should like but don\'t: "The Dead" in their current incarnation, and esp. Ratdog.  I like the original Grateful Dead, but the last "Dead" show I saw kinda sucked.  They need to go quit.  As for Ratdog, they are a joke.  Just a worse than average dead cover band is all they are - I can see **** like that every monday and wednesday night at bars around here. But Jerry always rocked and still does.

I think probably the case is just that most of the people on here already have it.

Origen, you\'re right, Ratdog does suck. *YAWN*

Ominous Seapods?? That\'s a band I\'ve not heard of in a while - always thought Superman Curse should have been a hit.
