I may not have all the experiences that you do; going to shows and festivals are not my main drive in life. But I do speak from experience when I talk about the alcohol/drug and other abuses at that I have seen at shows. I\'ve seen it at all types of events, concerts, sporting events and other events, I just don\'t agree with it when it\'s 13 year old kids or parent\'s doing it in front of their kids or not moving to another area when they see that type of behavior.
Steve - I agree with you 100% and I\'m not telling anyone how to raise their kids, I\'m just expressing what type of behavior that I will not be exposing my children to until I feel they are ready. Enough said...

the ponzone has been skillfully crafted over the past 13 years or so..........i am not currently with child....nor alien.....nor moonbrah.....etc.
so we went from speaking about the Dead to speaking about unborn children?
so Todd do u have concert ticket stubs older than your current significant other ?
rotflrotfl It\'s close, but I think she may be a bit older!
Kiana\'s 1st breakfast show was 8/4/02. She was 16 days old

That said ... while some people love it and can party with their kids, I find that I enjoy shows less, obviously have to behave *better*, and at this point my kids don\'t have much fun at shows or fests.
for people that do a lot of shows and fests with their kids, they often get really into it and have a great time. i envy that a little, to be able to share that with your kids i think is fantastic. plus the kids form their own little circles of friends with other festie kids and they all for the most part seem to enjoy it.
ive seen some instances where i\'ve said *WOW* ... none of which i will bring up on here, at fests involving things people are doing while responsible for children, but those have not been the norm with people i know who do fests and shows with their little ones.
not sure how the setlist question turned into *this old* debate though
Sorry but drinking and driving happens all the time. I dont agree with it but to blame the sporting event and not the perp is just nanny state knee jerk reactions.
Hear, hear!
I was at the Police show the other day. Since I was driving home, I only had a couple beers the whole 4 hours I was there.
