if its such a good show and there are a bunch of sources, why are they realeasing it in the worst possible format??? no lossless?? 192kbps MP3s instead?? i mean seriously, its like they want it to sound as bad as possible. not slamming them or the show, but i am thoroughly confused why they\'d release it like that?? personally, if i\'m gonna buy a show, i\'m sure as hell not gonna buy discs that\'re the equivalent of third gen aud tapes, ya know?!
It\'s called trying out a new method of selling their music on myspace. Pretty bummed but if this is the only way I\'m getting this show then so be it. It is a revenue generator plain and simple.
sure, i get that. but why not release it in 320kbps?? 192 obviously sounds like an mp3, especially in the cymbals and other high end frequencies. its not gonna cost them any more money to encode it that way (or higher) and they could reasonably even charge a little more for it. plus, any music fan with decent ears won\'t be immediately turned off. i mean, its dan healy on the board and they\'re covering that fact up. tlg fans are gonna gobble it up either way, but i would think that fewer would due to the 192 and far fewer non-
**** tlg fans are going to bother for the same reason.... just seems a little self-defeating, to me.
so freddie, this is what you were doing when you said you would be hanging at richter\'s? i hope you at least listened to it.
I know you probably will not listen to any of it but you really would be doing yourself wrong. That cd is pretty kick ass.
to anyone who hasnt - watch the dvd immediately.

think about bandwidth costs for the company distributing these files. raising the quality from 192 to 320 will require more bandwidth, and it will cause the prices to be higher and the people who want flac will still be bitching.
just be happy with what is being offered. at least they are making soundboard recordings available somehow.

see, if i had dan healy on the board, i wouldn\'t want to release that as anything other than flac, with maybe a 320 for the n00bs who don\'t know anybetter. but to only offer 192 healy mix seems like buying a picasso, then hanging wax paper over it for viewing...
what does it matter, i\'m only gonna oink it if i bother at all...

I totally agree other than the Oinking. The request for this to be released in flac form was not dismissed by TLG management it just is not feasible currently w/ the Company they chose to use.
I did purchase the SBD MP3\'s and they sound pretty damn good. Yes cymbals get shitty at times but overall totally worth the purchase.
If you like TLG
