i dont hate trey at all, i think he\'s a fantastic musician, but i think calling him a god is just silly. i think we\'re just arguing semantics here, which also is silly. i am by no means bashing trey, i just think that people put him on a higher pedastle than he\'s due.
and yes, the pop analogy was uncalled for.
i also am not gonna get into the organized religion vs. god debate. i\'ll just say that i too have many issues with organized religion, but upon closer inspection, i\'ve realized that most of them have the same message, but they just get caught up in stupid bullshit details and have thus strayed off the path of a true spiritual practice.
So long Trey, hello Timmy
now that we are all on the same page again...

anyone mind if i close this thread? we\'re all on the same page again, and it was mindless gossip to begin with.
So long Trey, hello Timmy
I saw a band that was really good last night, though I specifically remember thinking that the shredding guitarist is probably playing what Tim was capable of as a 12 year-old.
Closing threads is weak sauce.
just dont keep it too sappy

Don\'t abuse thyne powers....
I think phish is a great example of what drugs can do to a band...its kind of sad....but oh well...we got timmy now...
exactly, trey has seriously wasted himself as a musician. it comes across in his performance. i listen to the recordings from coventry and its disgusting how sloppy they were.
yeah, I still love all their old album stuff, but you can really tell in the later performances that the drugs where just killin his talent....thats why I dont like the greatful dead...all the of the music was drug influenced..and in the long run it makes the music horrible....
i hear so many people talk about how drugs make their music better and it makes me so sad, they\'re just lying to themselves to rationalize their drug use, yet at the same time killing their musical potential.
exactly...but the good thing is that we realize this....
