Or, to take this the other way, this would **** up recruiting for real volleyball. Since beach volleyball is a two-on-two sport, high school players would all want to go to a school where they could play in the sand immediately. The depth of good, real volleyball programs (not just the best, but maybe the top 50 or so) would crumble, and a few superstars would dominate.
