45-0 ???   5 touchdowns in one half ?  best QB of all time/worst defense of all time

345 yards ????? oh my **** god

Should have been 61 - 0.

Vick was safetied, but the refs gave them a mercy call. Bellicheck would have won a challenge on that call if he wanted to.

And he should have.

Belichick would not have won a challenge, because you can\'t challenge a forward progress call. It was definitely a safety, though.

At least someone agrees with me.

Am I the only one that thinks fantasy sports have ruined the actual sports.  I also think that Belichick is a great coach, but a dick who likes to run up the score on his opponents...  When you\'re up by 4 TDs, is it really necessary to continue to throw bomb passes, just run the ball up the gut and try not to embarass the team more than you already have...

i think it has certainly changed how sports are covered/followed (not necessarily ruined it). but i don\'t think it\'s actually changed the sports. over emphasis of individual statistics has always been part of sports (and conversely, team play is often under-emphasized)

At some point in the last few years, also thanks to the rise of fantasy sports, "statistics" all of a sudden became "fantasy updates". While a die-hard will never cheer against his team, fantasy sports have definitely turned the casual fan into a fair weather fan. For example, I would never cheer against the Red Sox, but my favorite NFL team is definitely my fantasy team.

Fantasy sports have done some good, however. Pitchers are finally recognized for having a solid WHIP (a much better barometer than W-L record or ERA), and wide receivers like Wes Welker get due credit for catching 100 balls every year, even if they only score four or five touchdowns. The flip side of this is that shutdown cornerbacks like Nnamdi Asomugha or Darrelle Revis, who never have interceptions because nobody ever throws their way, get no credit. The same goes for great blocking backs and receivers.

I have gone back and forth on this a number of times, and I still haven\'t come to a conclusion (that\'s what she said).

On one hand, it is a general rule of thumb that pulling your starters before the fourth quarter is a slap in the face to the other team. But on the other hand, the weather was awful, Brady has a surgically-repaired knee and the score was more than double your average three-touchdown blowout.

Also, the Patriots offense isn\'t designed for running up the gut, especially with Laurence Maroney coming off of an injury. Check-down passes and screens to Wes Welker and Kevin Faulk ARE their "running game".

You also don\'t want to ruin the shutout for your defense. I hate when defenses turn in a great effort and then give up a late touchdown because they have been on the field for most of the second half, since the offense keeps going three-and-out.

Belichick is definitely a dick, but it\'s not his fault that his team has the opportunity to run up the score more often than another coach. Who can say for sure that Dick Jauron (Buffalo) or Jim Schwartz (Detroit) or any other coach wouldn\'t do the same thing?

I\'m sorry, but the way that game played out felt more like a college game than a pro game...  You know like the BSC determined your rank and not your record...

This was one team of professional athletes playing another team of professional athletes, not Florida vs. the Tallahassee School for the Blind. The Patriots pulled Brady after one second-half series, and the team only scored 14 second-half points. You can?t really call off the dogs before halftime, and you can\'t send your young backup quarterback out there with your second-string offense and expect him to gain anything from it.

And not for nothing, but while Tom Brady was responsible for the 59 on one side of the scoreboard, he had nothing to do with the zero on the other side. Tennessee was just a special kind of terrible on Sunday.

I do not see anything wrong with running up the score. If the other team feels so emparased, forfiet the game.

The only reason I really can see for pulling your starters is to protect them from injury, which argubly should be done whenever the outcome of the game is no longer in doubt.

The Patriots also needed to prove who they were and say "Hey NFL, we\'re still a great team". After losing to the Jets and Broncos, people had their doubts, but with this massacre it makes people realized Tom Brady is back.

Chargers should handle the Giants tomorrow as they have no answer for Rivers. 4 TD\'s minimum.

If the Charger receivers hadn\'t dropped so many damn passes Philip would have had his 4 TD\'s and this game would not have been so close.

As it is he got 3 and HEY Eli! EAT A BIG MUTHAFUCKIN\' D!!!!

Well The Chargers are heading in the right direction. Nice win over the Eagles today which with Denver\'s loss sets up a game for first place in the AFC West next week in Denver.

Oh and that Colts/Pats game was the shootout it was billed to be and either team could have won but you all know I\'m stoked abt the result and I\'ll leave it at that.
No need to sully such a great game.

Worst Bill Belichik coaching decision of his career.

Who goes for it on 4th down on your own 30 yd line? When you are up by only 6 points?
