ok,back to my point..
thats steevie..
we all know and love the kid...i personally know and love him more than anyone on here.the kid can do whatever he wants and there will never be a problem..complaining and bitching and moaning about him whistling too much at shows proves to me that some folks have nothing better to do but complain about some bullshit.
Leith...you say that I should have self control......well the last time I checked, face
**** balls to the wall rock and roll shows were about surrendering yourself to the whole magic of it all... So untill the band and/or the band\'s archivist tell me that whatever I am doing is actually hindering what they are trying to accomplish, I will continue to just be me.......
oh and thanks to all for the love and support...you really dont know how good it makes me feel.........

Be you be rude. Cool w/ that. Whateva
This
**** is about LIVE MUSIC...I love tapers and what they do but that is not whata this is ALL ABOUT!!! The tapes are secondary to those in attendence...no on eother than a taper or those not at the show give a FLYING
**** what the ttapes sound like at the show...GET OVER IT or GO ON TOUR! Jesus Christ, it is not like he is even near the mics, leith, you answered your own gripe...the venues are small, but the "tapes" are not supposed to infringe upon ones time being had at the show. The mics are generally put "on stage" right in front of those who NEED to be up front because of the love and pschotic devotion they have for this band and its music...what do you think, these people are going to be twiddling their thumbs and being quiet??? That is just ignorant. Stevie has literally saved a camera from falling off a stage and losing a show altogether. As I said before he tries not tpo get right near the mics...give the guy a break. He isn\'t grabbing mics and screaming in to them or whistling directly into them so it is not his problem...the band doesn\'t even hear him(from Tim\'s mouth). LONG LIVE THE WHISTLE!!!!
actually, he was pretty close to the mics at the Porter\'s show since fitzy planted his mics right in front of the speakers, but more often than not, yeah he keeps his distance.
:doh:wow... I always thought a ballgag was for a different part of the anatomy :chin:

For the record this thread wasnt started by a taper.
The recordings are important to ME but I have never placed the recording of a show over anyones enjoyment. I wasn\'t always a taper you know.
But lets clear some
**** up. Mics do not get placed on stage in front of anyone (usually). AUD recordings are generally made from a distance form the stage.
mike your the man, i agree. when the song is done... whistle away! let\'s take a poll!
two people asked, thats enough for me.
THREAD CLOSED.
i don\'t know.. i like to think that we can have discussions around here, and the person who this thread is about has not asked that it be closed, so..
no one is attacking anyone here - there are just different opinions on this particular subject.
look, stevie has the right to whistle at shows if he wants to, and everyone else has the right to like or dislike it, and voice their opinion about it..
personally, if i was doing something at shows that annoyed people, i\'d want to know about it..
it\'s not that big of a deal, it just sucks that when any one member of the band is rippin
**** up or making a sweet transition into another song there is a 75% chance we wont hear it over a high pitch whistle. oh well......its a free world.
maybe we can get him to kick it down a notch or 2 to the left seeing as if theres sooooo many bitchers/moaners who go to/listen to the shows.....
DOH!!
This **** is about LIVE MUSIC...LONG LIVE THE WHISTLE!!!!
It just wouldn\'t be the same without Steevie\'s whistle. If you don\'t like hearing it on disc, stop listening to the recordings & get your a$$ to a show!!! I guarantee you\'ll be whistling & moving in ways that you\'ve never done before
