Yesterday (2/27) was the 1 Year Anniversary of The Breakfast as a band under said nomenclature. It\'s tough to analyze where they\'ve come since the name change at this point (it\'ll be more concrete in a month or so) but it\'s still worth discussing for obsessed
**** like us. What do you think of the first year of the Breakfast era?
Ron has become a badass Bass guitar player which has seemed to refocus some of the jams away from just Tim shredding and the whole band connecting on a more consistent basis night after night.
are you talking about a change in the music? cuz i honestly havent noticed anything other than the usual evolution into more professional people...
or the attitude and reception of the band in general from an outsider\'s perspective? i am curious about the latter- has the change made bookings easier and opened more doors?
The will always be Psychedelic Breakfast to me....
PB fo life!
Hmmm... they\'re even better now than they used to be?
I agree Ron does seem to have stepped it up a couple notches.
Their shows seem more creative lately... like the recent show at Pearl Steet with the four or five part Rufus. And the Grativy jams lately are sick.

Without a doubt in my mind!!!!! Just go to radio joe and check out some old shows....super raw...still outstanding, but nothing compared to what they have grown into IMO.
I actually agree with Leith to an extent on this issue. Although it was more than just this past year for Save\'s and the band\'s improvement. I think that this started during the first time the band went on a national tour...they left as a guitar monster with a back-up band that would vamp endlessly so TPalms could amaze and returned a solid unit who twist and turn and venture into realms that aren\'t of this world.
PB for life...no doubt!!!
Speaking as one who has yet to see the band

and bases his judgements solely on the listening to the shows, I agree that Ron has really stepped up a gear in the last year or so. The jams are more of a group thing now, especially as jordan has been experimenting more with the electronic side of his playing. To cite one example, Buquebus has taken off big time and when the boys revisit some of the older tunes, they seem to bring a new slant to them with each show.
Animal\'s drumming still drives the band along like a juggernaut and I think you\'d be hard pressed to find a tighter rhythm section. Tim, for me, is now my favourite guitar player around - and even if jerry and frank were with us, he\'d be challenging them in my top 3. Vocals have also improved - both in the leads and the harmonies - never really a big issue for me, but it\'s hard to sing along with boom-boom-tsk-tsk-squeal-widdle-screowch!
As for the PB thing, old habits die hard - I mean, look at the dial on RR.

Jordan\'s new synth is the
**** BOMB!!!

More proof that no one really wanted this to happen
While the feeling that I get seeing the band now really hasn\'t changed that much from back in the old days, when you listen to the tapes it\'s quite a noticeable difference. I attribute the difference to both Ron & Jordan who, over the last several years, have become much better at what they do.
Tim & Adrian have always been (and continue to be) the driving forces behind the band, but with Ron & Jordan now in the same ballpark, the overall sound has evolved to be much better than just a few years ago.
and as soon as they break big, there changing the name back to psychedelic breakfast.confirned

But, unfortunately.....web addy....GONE!!! :sigh:

Still not sure how I feel about this. Not a fan of spacey electronic sounds.

neither am i, but the breakfast never go overboard with that sort of thing. jordans new synth does sound awesome though.
