As with most jambands the power of LIVE playing is amazing. As I said Deuce is basically LIVE. RR is a STUDIO album through and through. I totally understand why people would be GRABBED by Deuce as I bet when they ask what is playing there is a JAM going on Yeah?
My point is even though they are a jamband all jambands jam but not all can cut it in the studio songwriting area. The Breakfast can and did. RR proves it. Having seen the reaction to RR from those that have heard Deuce but are not that into The Breakfast I can say they have been more impressed w/ RR than Deuce. The comment I get most often is something along the lines of wow they can actually play normal songs w/o just ripping all the way through cool. Anyway Deuce is by Psychedelic Breakfast whatever happened to them?

i gotchya, i just think their "normal songs" arent all that great. i guess its just lyrically that gets me on RR, i think the lyrics are pretty shitty, and lyrics are way more important in the studio than they are live. to me at least.
The crickets and the rust-beetles scuttled among the nettles of the sagethicket. "Vamanos amigos," he whispered, and threw the busted leather flintscraw over the loose weave of the saddlecock. And they rode on in the friscalating dusklight.  --Eli Cash

I know it is still early in the release of Real Radio and hopefully the word will spread as Breakfast ventures to other cities, states and provinces; though I am curious to know if sales have been brisk at the merch table at the shows that have occured since 3/4/05.

Mandler?

I hope more writers come across the album so they can get more press online and in the papers/magazines.

Really now? That is a surprise to me. I think this is some of the best lyrics they have written. Very catchy tunes all w/ hooks.
