Please tell me this is a joke
[EVIL]muuuwahaha[/EVIL]
it was dreamt up as i drifted off to sleep laaate one wasted evening as being the absolute worst possible band name option that they could go with. sure, the built-in cross-marketing options are wonderful, but the whole \'hear about what happened to psychedelic breakfast? they went to DePOT\' jokes would get old real quick.
indeed...good to hear it was just a nightmare

HAHA i cant believe you said this...this was one of my old band names. worst name ever. shittiest band ever also.
I can\'t find anything official to confirm it, but word on the street in Boston is that the Middle East and the other club behind it, TT The Bear\'s, face the wrecking ball on March 29th. MIT has apparently acquired the land and plans to build housing. Again, I cannot find official confirmation, but working in the beer industry I have a lot of credible informants in the bar/club world.
This would be the end of respectable music promotion in Boston. Every other venue in Boston is either Clear Channel or Lyons Group. It would also be the end of great Breakfast shows in Boston, at least for now. Every other venue they can get will do the 3-openers thing and 1 set of Breakfast from 11:30-1. I gotta skip town.
Wow. They\'d lose a crap load of money already put out. They have confirmed shows booked well into May.
Yeah, I saw that they had shows booked which hopefully means the rumor is wrong. No money stands to be lost though; if MIT really did get the land then they spent several million on it. Thus, a couple grand from a few nights at the Middle East won\'t mean anything. MIT as the landowner would lose money with the Middle East running a club on that spot compared to if they were collecting room+board fees on a 60-unit dormitory. So MIT would really be smart to get the club closed as quickly as possible.

Fair enough. Let\'s hope it\'s not true. Too many of the "cool clubs" are getting closed down. Pretty soon it\'ll be nothing but "untz untz" everywhere.
