as much as i hate to say it,i threw in the towel on this whole thing after save spears jumped ship.
because i consider the guys close friends,u dont see me on here bashing them or generally making the situation worse that they already know it is..that wouldnt be cool at all.
however,i think most of us turned a page in our lives where we grew up a little and honestly, times are tough right now.as much as id love to see the band make it,what really does that even mean???
Actually, there\'s a handfull of songs not play in \'09 that I\'d love to hear: A New Beginning, Fairy, Garcian Fishbowl, Heather, Love Lake, Question Mark and the Mind...
True.
Isn\'t this about the supposed demise of "Bfam" though?
Pretty sure the party bus to Fenway > Harper\'s proves we are ALIVE and well.
I\'ve introduced dozens of younger kids to the band from around here over the last year. I\'d say at least 50% of these kids are *really really* into The Breakfast now. You won\'t see them at all these 21+ shows, but the point is that gears are being set in motion for a new generation of fans.
Keep on playin\' music guys. We really do adore it.
i dunno, i just see a lot more of a what have you done for me lately kinda attitude from most the old regulars. there was a time when we didn\'t give a **** that the band didn\'t have the best business model off the stage. now its just easy to use that as a copout excuse. the band could easily be no more, half the time i think most people on here wouldn\'t care either way.
i could\'ve gone to toad\'s. but its the fourth of july, and i\'m not about to drive to hours to a show after an afternoon of drinking. plus there was absolutely 0 enthusiasm on this board for the show. why the **** am i gonna drive 2+ hours when everyone w/in 15 minutes doesn\'t give a ****.
its easy to talk **** on a message board, especially when you run that message board, but i doubt 99% of people on here would have the sack to try to hold onto their dream of being in a rock band after 10 tumultuous years of touring and general obscurity.
Yeah it is ez to talk
**** on a message board.
You know this very well. As a matter of fact I bold typed a sentence which typifies the attitude you mention in your 1st sentence.
Why does it
**** matter in the least to you planning on going to a show if anyone within 15 minutes of the venue doesn\'t give a
**** about said show?
That\'s a
**** copout if I have ever heard one.
I get you were drunk and did not want to drive that\'s understandable and commendable but not going because no one cares is a
**** poor excuse.

i guess you\'re right. i shouldn\'t let anyone else sway what i want to do or where i want to go. just the facts, i saw them last week on the boston boat cruise, and until then i had no thoughts of going to toad\'s. after that show i was all about it. then i came to dot info, and saw a thread buried on the board with a roll call of a half a dozen people at the most at that point. this is only 1 week before the gig. now i could\'ve gone. sacrificed my 4th of july day to spend it sober/in the car by myself for 2 hours just to go to a show that was an absolute crapshoot if anyone would show up or not. or just suck it up, kick the local scene and save money on the 4th of july instead of spending 50 dollars in gas and about the same in drinks. do i wish i would\'ve gone, yes. do i regret not going given what i knew in advance? no.
Oh and let me know when to change my user title because it tells me the B\'fam is still around.
we\'re still around we just pick and choose our battles.

I totally get this.
Thanks.
I knew you weren\'t the sheep type.
lots of great points made all around. at the end of the day, i think we all should remember that whether the band "makes it" or not -- which of course i hope they do -- we are lucky to have ever had something known as the "bfam." it\'s a phenomenon that not many people in this world get to experience, and i feel lucky to have been a part of it for so long now. there have been good times and bad times. times when i was hitting the pavement flyering my ass off and times when i had completely written the band off and said
**** it; times when my face was completely owned and times when i left saying eh; times when i was grooving shoulder to shoulder with you all and times when i was literally one of only a handful of people on the dance floor. i\'m not willing to give up on this band yet, but i\'m also being realistic. i think any band needs to essentially live a life on the road for a while to ever really expand its fan base to a sustainable level, and it doesn\'t seem those are the lives the breakfast are looking to lead at this stage of the game. i don\'t blame them, either. that\'s rough, and they\'re not kids anymore. yet so long as they are making music that i enjoy, i will be supporting the band to my fullest -- and of course be loving every second i get to spend with the wild pack of bfam!
..."..., ... ... ...! ... ... ... & ... ...; ... ...? ... ... : ... ... ... ... ... ..., ... (... ... ...) ... ... ...."... That\'s all I have to say about that!
Diana proves her awesomeness once again.
aw shucks! (and thanks, man!)
bfam 4 lyfe.
what else can I say.
Well I was speechless but... they should gear up now to hit the colleges when school\'s in, I don\'t know why they stopped doing that. Great potential for new fans... always has been, always will be. Long-time fans seem to be opting to stay home and chill as they are getting older so ya gotta bring in the new blood... let their parents pay the bills! Aren\'t there plenty of colleges here in the Northeast to plunder for fans. They should definitely try to play The Waterhole #3 in Saranac Lake during Winter Carnival (3rd weekend in february... actually the whole week before but the 3rd is the parade, party weekend) streets are packed with people all drinkin\' and havin\' fun! No chance it wouldn\'t be packed! Besides it\'s the oldest winter carnival in the eastern United States! Just a thought. Nothing more. I know, God forbid I suggest anything the band should do...
they are back at the westcott first or second weekend of classes thats good.
