From what I understand, you can only vote one time per phone. The band with the "most unique" votes will win the contest.
To get more votes, maybe the band could tap into the MySpace "friends" page... there are 6,116 people signed up for the Breakfast, and 525 signed up for TPalm\'s solo page, and if each one got a message about texting a vote, there\'s a chance that some might actually do it. :shrug:

we have done it and we have done it a few times. I also have seen Adrian and Ron post it. So it has been done but again you need people took look at the bulletin and open. I don\'t look at bulletins and I imagine many other people don\'t either.
Also, myspace isn\'t all that its **** up to be. Half the "fans" are other bands or spammers that pretend to be.

I don\'t buy it. The Pnuma Trio doesn\'t have that many fans (do they?!) People have gotta be voting multiple times.

can you vote multiple times from the same phone? if so, someone with free text messaging, hook it up.

And maybe even have someone make a quick announcement about the competition, highlighting the fact that instructions are on the flyers. I just think this is too cool of an opportunity to let it go by without a real solid effort. I mean, it took an effort to get the breakfast to win the jammy, but that miraculously happened and so can this. Landing this gig would obviously be big for networking - with both fans and some great bands. Good luck to the band.

i kinda wish i had done that. relix keeps sending me text messages about upcoming shows in nyc. i dont want to pay money to verizon to get ads for shitty jam bands that are playing in a place i cant even get to very easily.

Text messaging is one of the most profitable services for the providers and the company that is doing the promotion. Keep in mind that Relix is making about 60 cents every time you send a text. The band sees 0 dollars.

and things have been good Spacey. just got back from Summercamp which was a blast(highlights being: moe., Claypool, Pnuma Trio, and MMW latenight).

I assumed that the way it usually works is that normally you pay, and then probably have some sort of passcode or password or something to view the magazine, and that this was some sort of promo where they are letting people do it for free.
