see, if i had dan healy on the board, i wouldn\'t want to release that as anything other than flac, with maybe a 320 for the n00bs who don\'t know anybetter. but to only offer 192 healy mix seems like buying a picasso, then hanging wax paper over it for viewing...
what does it matter, i\'m only gonna oink it if i bother at all...
I totally agree other than the Oinking. The request for this to be released in flac form was not dismissed by TLG management it just is not feasible currently w/ the Company they chose to use.
I did purchase the SBD MP3\'s and they sound pretty damn good. Yes cymbals get shitty at times but overall totally worth the purchase.
If you like TLG

so freddie, this is what you were doing when you said you would be hanging at richter\'s? i hope you at least listened to it.
I know you probably will not listen to any of it but you really would be doing yourself wrong. That cd is pretty kick ass.
to anyone who hasnt - watch the dvd immediately.
sure, i get that. but why not release it in 320kbps?? 192 obviously sounds like an mp3, especially in the cymbals and other high end frequencies. its not gonna cost them any more money to encode it that way (or higher) and they could reasonably even charge a little more for it.
think about bandwidth costs for the company distributing these files. raising the quality from 192 to 320 will require more bandwidth, and it will cause the prices to be higher and the people who want flac will still be bitching.
just be happy with what is being offered. at least they are making soundboard recordings available somehow.

if its such a good show and there are a bunch of sources, why are they realeasing it in the worst possible format??? no lossless?? 192kbps MP3s instead?? i mean seriously, its like they want it to sound as bad as possible. not slamming them or the show, but i am thoroughly confused why they\'d release it like that?? personally, if i\'m gonna buy a show, i\'m sure as hell not gonna buy discs that\'re the equivalent of third gen aud tapes, ya know?!
It\'s called trying out a new method of selling their music on myspace. Pretty bummed but if this is the only way I\'m getting this show then so be it. It is a revenue generator plain and simple.

Figured this may happen since the show was really that good. Bummer for those not really into the band yet but I\'m getting mine for sure.
Folks,
The 4.20 San Francisco show @ the Fillmore is now available. We\'ve decided to try something new with this release and are making it available as 192kbps MP3s through our friends at SNOCAP, the digital music company powering the MySpace Music Service.
The SNOCAP store is live now on our profile. (http://myspace.com/tealeafgreen)
You can buy the entire show for $9.99 (introductory price) or individual tracks for $0.99. On Monday, 5/7 we will raise the price for the entire show to $11.99. Note that a portion of the proceeds from the sale of these downloads will be donated to the Bill Graham Foundation. The mission of the Bill Graham Foundation is to give grants primarily in the areas of music, the arts and education, while also supporting social work, environmental protection, and spiritual and compassionate projects in our community.
One you select the downloads you want, you\'ll be asked to set up an account through their secure website and you\'re off and running. Be sure to download the SNOCAP Download Manager so that the download process goes quickly and smoothly.
We\'ve put the Tea Leaf Green MyStore in a few places on the web so you can purchase the show wherever it\'s most convenient for you.

Enjoy!

i still haven\'t seen there 4-20 show come out
No sign of this famed ubershow yet, but I\'m currently streaming the t04-21 show from the lma - lots of cowd noise but a clear recording and the band were sounding good.
ARGGHHH!!
Bob is working on it now. I guess he was taping for the band that night also so he has 2 sources he is working with right now.Should be up soon.
As for the 21st that night was really good also but the only place to really get a decent recording was right along a main path thus the chatter. Luckily it is loud enough during the music to not be that bad. I am all over those discs whooping and hollering as it became quite a riot of frenzied dancers. What do expect when there is all you can eat beer and food for a buck + TLG on fiya?

We wanted to let you know that Steven will no longer be mixing our FOH sound, however, he will continue to serve as the band\'s archivist. As a result, expect to see a stepped-up program of archive releases in the coming months, so stay tuned.
Dan Healy will be at the board for as many Bay Area shows as his schedule will permit. Jason James will take over the FOH duties on the road.
We wanted to thank Steven publicly for all his hard work and dedication to the band as the TLG soundman over the past few years.

Links?
Most recent tlg show on bt.etree was from a month ago, though there is one from 04/13 on the lma. These guys can\'t match dave and chris for quick turnarounds!!
Thanks for the heads up leith.

When the tapes of the 4/20 Fillmore gig come up on the net grab them.
Not only was the show stellar it was the best I have ever heard the band in part thanks to Dan Healy spinning FOH knobs!
any links?
