i was just updating my breakfast stats excel sheet [uses index finger to push glasses higher up on my nose in true nerd fashion] and realized this show fell exactly 1 year after i saw them for the first time. damn that was a quick year!

"the bird"
that\'s the one!
:hscratch:
basically as the sun was rising through the vortex in Asbury Park there were a ton of seagulls flying around. However the more we looked at the seagulls the more they disappeared until there was only one gull.......Not sure if it was an according to hoyle hallucination or what, but the flock of seagulls appeared to morph into just one gull.....it was pretty strange....

Nice shot Todd. Can\'t wait to see the rest of the shots from that night.
Mandler, see the bird in the second shot! HA! Def "the bird"

That "Casino" building is very strange to walk around in when there is a "vortex" present in Asbury...I have been in same said vortex many a time at the Stone Pony.

It should also be noted that it looks like they are trying to fix up Assbury Park a bit. Not sure what they intend to do with this place, but the other building that I think was right next to this one is gone.

Thanks Todd....

the second you all decided you were going out there was the second i decided it was time for bed cause i was certainly not in that frame of mind.....
-
Here\'s a couple from our journey to the beach. In keeping with Stevie\'s frame of mind, I tweaked this one out a bit.

I am waiting patiently for the TKA photos of Team 4 Wheel Expedition on the rocks of the Asbury Park vortex......Where I thought I would be standing for all eternity, a la the matrix, fueling the machines......
regardless it was a "Flapper" free evening at the Empress....WOO HOO!
-
c\'mon fitzy ;)
-
oh my blasphemous friends
-
can\'t wait to listen to Asbury Park for the 1st time.
You and Stevie were crucified on Sat. night and then resurrected on Easter!!!
-
Great show and good times. Good to see you all.
Loved watching the huge smiles on some of your faces. You know who you are.
However, Tweety was indeed a saint at The Saint, due to Easter commitments. I\'ll have to make up for it next time!
Bless you for being a Saint! :) I was so happy Easter although very tired but still managed to have a wholesome time with family.
Definatly a great show!!Im still excited about being able to have gone and how much fun I had:) .......Youd think after Toads and then the Saint Id be held over, but I cant wait for the next show already!

Asbury Park is quickly becoming a town to not miss the Breakfast in. the alst 2 shows here have been HUGE. sat was so much fun, great show. great crowd(for most of the show). great sound, great work by Ellis on the lights and usuing awesome color schemes and really setting moods in jams. all around awesome time. much thanks to Ron for getting \'Rufus\' on the setlist.
cant wait til next time. which only may be next month from rumblings heard after the show on satnight.....ONE CAN ONLY HOPE.
THANKS TO ALL WHO TRAVELED FOR THIS SHOW
i CANNOT wait to hear these tapes. the last tapes from here came out AWESOME and chrisfitz set up in the same place this time.

i am consistently amazed when the 2nd show of a 2-night run in which i am lucky enough to be at both shows, is better when the 1st, as in, how great is it that this band can for a measley $10 of which they probably see approximately $.16 apiece, can throw down with such energy talent enthusiasm, that you are left with a permagrin for 2 days+? (and i thought the toads show was fantastic) my only complaint if you can call it that was that this show was really short especially 1st set but then again there were some great surprises like im certain GUTML were psyched to have tim sit in!, and both opening bands i had the pleasure if hearing were quite good. without a doubt worth the drive and a very sleepy easter sunday.

Lets just say I found a vortex in reality where the x, y, and z axis of existance all meet at one central point in Asbury Park, NJ. Time and space ripped open and allowed me to see things I have never seen before.
:that: What an amazing weekend, Thanks to everyone involved. Adrian on Guitar at the end was great.
Two great shows this weekend, can\'t wait to listen to Asbury Park for the 1st time.

Lets just say I found a vortex in reality where the x, y, and z axis of existance all meet at one central point in Asbury Park, NJ. Time and space ripped open and allowed me to see things I have never seen before..... For the better part of 6 hours I really thought I had died sometime on Friday and was not going to be allowed back into this existance......Thankfully I have returned.
textbook moose droppings under a crisp ball of combustable gasses if you ask me... glad it all came back together.
-
Well thanks to the original 4 Wheeling Expodition Team (Todd, Mandler, Dobson, Ellis) for keeping me from doing anything stupid and eventually reeling me back into reality........Without them I, for sure, would have been gone for good.........
-
Fun Jam was too much fun and ran too long so Space was cut from the first set.....
 Missed that. You must have dragged me into your vortex with you. You were some funny ****!![/QUOTE]

The sound in that place when i was great and when standing dead center, absolutely amazing. Short little first set was good and had all it needed, and the 10 min or so set break made up for it\'s shortness. TREMENOUS STL, still prefer it un-inverted but when it builds and explodes back to the begining the way it did last night and in utica it is totally fine with me, **** now if Fitz (sorry to nag)can get both of those fuckers posted on bt.etree or somewhere, those who weren\'t there can hear what I mean, as if they didn\'t know though. All songs were played wonderfully and rufus>gladys was defintately silly. I couldn\'t help but smile when Adrian actually ripped it on vermont song, i mean i know he has the ability but sometimes I forget. Good time overall, and swear that a hippie bus from 1993 or 94 pulled out of a time portal and dropped of like 10 wooks and wookettes, **** was weird. I kept thinking to myself where the hell did these goon **** even come from, they did however eat the **** up so it was ok. Silly wooks. Good to see ya Bill!
-
you too tim
Big thanks again to the band for pumping out the heady-ass **** bigtime. The lights and sound were sick too. i agree, the band was definitely NOT out of their element last night to quote walter and it sounded great! 4/20 is gonna kick some serious ass, see yall there
-
I: jam > Great Big Fiery Ball In The Sky > See The Light*, Escher\'s Etchings Part 3 > Drunk Monk Bar
II: Rufus > Psygn, Gladys Pimp And Kangaroos With Me, The Man In Me
E: The Vermont Song**
* inverted.
** Adrian on guitar; Tim on drums.
Thanks to Todd and FieryBill for the setlist!
-
much much fun, big thanks to face for the financial support and ride to the airport (had to be in hartford for boarding at 8am to get to sc), i o u big time buddy
highlights for me = rufus + gladys
finally gettin the full grasp on the new eschers tune(s) and i think this song(s) will play a great role in the bands repetoire as it gets played more often
my first time at the staint, and i agree, the sound was really really good, thats definitely a headie little room....
good seein ya fierybill and booztravler (who will forever in my mind be known as ralph maccio)
everyone rock out in burlington and i\'ll see u for 4-20 run! woot woot!!
-
i think chris was taping last night.
what a fun show! not many songs but that didnt matter as the jams went on forever. gladys was prob the highlight of the night. i had to sit on a stool close to the front of the stage for the second set (prob should have rested my leg during the first one instead) but still had a great view of everything. the sound was so crisp but damn was it loud. looking forward to the 420 run!
-
Looks like back to back monster shows. You Lucky Bastards. Taped?
-
personally, i think the band is going in the wrong direction without a merch guy. ever since gavin left the band there has been a muddier sound and the jams don\'t get as crazy. i couldn\'t even hear adrians vocals over the cries of confused merchandise fiends during the vermont song. i know a couple of guys who should really audition for the merch position, but i think i overheard ron spears say " we don\'t need no merch guy".
i think i\'m gonna stop seeing the breakfast.
stick.
A **** + Lex!!!
-
I guess The Saint is the appropriate place to be on Easter Sunday (technically)....Whineberg.
-
last night was sick
i love the Staint.
-
Two great shows in a row!!Im super happy I got to go last night to the Saint,I thought it was Terrific!
-
They may have gone into some of part 4. Not too sure either.
-
I didn\'t see anyone post the setlist yet.... so here it is:
I: Jam > Great Big Fiery Ball in the Sky > See The Light*, Escher\'s Etchings Part 3 > Escher\'s Etchings Part 4** > Drunk Monk Bar
II: Rufus > Psygn, Gladys Pimp and Kangaroos With Me, The Man in Me
E: The Vermont Song***
*Inverted
**Unfinished
***Adrian on Guitar, Tim on Drums
Outstanding show last night. My only question is was Escher\'s 4 played? I don\'t know when 3 ends and 4 begins since the Boston 2/16 show has it all as one track, as does the Knitting Factory show. What I do know is they hit the "disco" part of it, but didn\'t get to the vocals at the end. It just raged right into Drunk Monk Bar. (I love abbreviations, but I\'ll never use DMB for this!) Set two was crazy.... Rufus gets better every time I hear it, it seems. Psygn rocked like a mofo and Gladys must\'ve been 25 minutes at least. I could play guitar for a thousand days straight and not play as well as Tim does with one freakin\' hand for Christ\'s sake!
Love the Lebowski references, with the Man in Me and "Shut the **** up Donny" and "You\'re out of your element" shouts by Adrian in Rufus. Tim sat in with Give Us the Money Lebowski for "Fire." Great to see the familiar faces and can\'t wait till SERacuse! Thanks to the boys for a sweet 2 night run... Peace
Well... I guess that answers my question about Escher\'s, thanks.
