Great set overall, about an hour or so. Nice set up, small tent and lotsa people gettin\' down. The sound was excellent, but for about 5-10 minutes in MFD, Tim\'s guitar went out. Ron and Adrian jammed out and took solos during it, it was no big deal. Crowd went nuts when Tim started working again. Every song tonight rocked, especially Buquebus and Psygn. It was obvious they wanted to make the best of the time they had. Overall a chill festival and I\'m glad everything worked out!

i just read this thread for the first time. EASILY the most disorganized, unprofessional fest i\'ve ever heard about, and i\'ve heard about ad been to some serly mind boggling clusterfucks before!! i mean, THE BAND doesn\'t even know when they are scheduled to play!! it\'ll probably be a fun little blast with a bunch of local kids droogin\' it out and whatnot, but if they wanted anything more than local kids they are extremely out of their league!
and knowing buddy cage just a little bit, i\'m not at all surprised to hear he bailed! not that he\'s snobby, just the opposite. hell, he\'s sat in with a buddy of mine\'s band numerous times to play bar gigs with 20 or 30 folks in attendance. BUT he was told when to be where and when they would be playing and for how long and how much $$ he\'d get (even though it was very little $$), etc.... anyone in the business as long as he has been would have run from such an amateur hour, too!

steve, thanks for all your posts this morning/afternoon. It\'s brought some light to this whole thing that the festival\'s webpage couldn\'t provide. Hope you and band have a safe trip. It\'s friggen beautiful here in the upstate area, btw. Great day for an outdoor show.

I am in the Saratoga Springs area. I decided to drive out there this morning and see what was REALLY going on! There were quite a few people. I talked to the girls at the gate. They told me that it\'s $50 for the weekend and an additional $15 to camp. The band schedule that they had showed The Breakfast playing from 5:30 to 6:45 ONLY. And you guys won\'t even be there by then!!
Just thought I\'d share. We could just have a party here in the backyard!!

I emailed and texted every that needed to know. Ron says that Hunt spoke to the promoter and was told 8pm, 2 sets last night.
The way this festival has been planned, I won\'t be surprised how it turns out.

yeah, it sucks, but what does .net have to offer that .info doesnt?
even if they cant figure out a schedule or even the times the bands are playing until the day of the show these guys could at least put ticket prices on the website. its not like you can find the info elsewhere.

my bad, I mentioned that they were not sure if some of the bands would play tonight or tomorrow night, that was poor writing. I should have said, they are not sure of an exact schedule for performers except the Breakfast start time is et for 8PM.
There are surely some negative issues to not having good information on web sites etc. for all that is known about the "meta" of the situations, both the bands and the promoters, the "last word" is that the show is scheduled and the campground is open with One eyed Jack closing tonight.

the only band I know that got cut was the band Buddy Cage was playing with or atleast that is what I heard. that they couldn\'t afford them or something like that. Most of these bands are local is my understanding.

i dont care how much they are getting paid. thats not my business. i just wanted some real information about whats going on so i could have decided if it was worth going to.

then maybe this info should have been made available somewhere. like on the page of their website that promises more info will be made available soon.
Perhaps his website desinger bailed on them like someone we know or any other issues. Perhaps they were too busy worrying abotu important **** like $$$ and being able to pay the other bands.

I didn\'t see any hate towards the guys in VT for promising a show and then not delivering it because they hadn\'t secured the permits from the town. permits and $$ is what you need. None of us thought this show was gonna happen because of the lack of web updates. But the show is going on and I will be there for the Breakfast. Where will you be. Pretending the promoter made you mad because he didn\'t return your e-mails and thats your excuse for not going to the show ???
How many bars and other festivals failed to promote the band.
And it was only a day or so ago when I heard that the guy was worried about having the $ to pay the bands. Atleast he is going to pay them and not try to weasel out of it.

Gotta agree with Fitz on this one. The "promoter" definitely knows "kids" go there for drugs, especially when a show is at SPAC. Depending on how well this has been promoted in the area, a lot of people may be there. It\'s a good thing the Breakfast have decided to perform given the circumstances, could be a chance to gain a few more fans, which is all that matters in the end.

**** this festival and the "promoter." he didnt promote anything. they are lucky to have the breakfast playing, but they cant even mention their name on the website. all this promoter did was eat drugs and make colored pencil drawing of a bear with a mushroom so that everyone thinks the festival will be heady.
but its okay with them because they are probably making a pretty nice chunk of change by keeping it low key and selling drugs to upstate kids who know to go there for that.
i would have taken off from work for this, but its really not worth the risk if they cant even get their **** together and give any details (or answer email) about whats going on. so **** em.

Heads up from Saratoga: I just spoke to someone who is at the campground and knows the promoter. He says he is still not sure how many of the smaller bands will play tonight or tomorrow, but that Breakfast\'s money has been "secured". It is a gorgeous place, located within the famous tall pines of Saratoga county and has been a campground for years, so it is hardened and has actual tenting "sites". I will see you all there!

Crazy.... people make a webpage for a festival (http://racknfriends.org/) and it has no information regarding tickets the day before and doesn\'t even list the breakfast as performing. Pretty redonkulous! Well, I guess we all just show up and whatever happens happens. I\'m obviously not staying for the whole three days of the festival, just saturday and then i\'m out. I hope they don\'t charge some crazy price for at the gate day of show tickets when they didn\'t even make earlybird tickets available. Pretty unprofessional.
I love the Breakfast but if I show up and they say you can\'t get a day of show ticket, you can only get a ticket for the whole thing and it\'s like 80 bucks or something, I really doubt I would buy it. That\'s a lotta money for me! Hopefully it gets taped and then I can at least hear it again. Plus Red Square is in 2 weeks. If I wasn\'t gonna see them again for 6 months that would be different, but ****, I see them all the time! :)
I share cosmoechuck\'s feelings that this could be a sparsely attended affair. I hope it\'s freakin raging!! But man, I\'ve never even heard of anybody else playing on the bill. Jambase has more listed than the festival\'s website and I haven\'t heard of anybody. I\'m not trying to diss, I\'m sure they\'re all decent, but I just have a feeling there won\'t be a lot of heads there. I hope I\'m wrong. Whatever though, once the Breakfast start playing all will be well with the world, as it always is, but I don\'t wanna spend a fortune on what could be under a 90 minute set and it would be nice if a lot of energy was in the house. Maybe they\'ll put something up at the webpage tomorrow....lol

He is going to see the Wood Brothers or something so he will not even be there for this festival, but he will be seeing The Breakfast on the 30th if that is any consolation. ^^^if its your buddies uncleputting it on can you please find out what the schedule will be for the bands and such? its a little freakin frustrating trying to plan some things out and not knowing when the bands are playing. not a very organized event IMO. i emailed them a few weeks ago and got a very typical bullshit response. they barely answered any questions adn didnt give me one clue as to when any band was playing.

just talked to one of my buddies. it is actually his uncle who is putting on the show in hopes of putting on more in the future execpt not at Lee\'s Campground. He has his own land, which is big enough for a festival. its right in my hometown. used to have this little festival called Stemstock, named after a band Stem. Also had some other local bands playing throughout the weekend. Camping is included and there definitely won\'t be any bullshit cops or any of the **** that happened at Mountain Jam. Anyone on .info head to this festival? I heard it was a complete clusterfuck with cops busting people for smoking pot at their campsites.

yeah, well its works for me since I love baseball and get to see games all summer long. also get to chill with my bro all summer in florida, which is cool. it only runs for two months and I am getting 5-credits for school and $500 at the end. the experience and clips is what makes it worth all the hassle.
no, they don\'t pay for living expenses or travel. my bro, his roommate and I are splitting the rent three ways. the only problem I am having is I plan on renting a car for the two months I will be here since I need one to go to the games.

yeah. i\'m down in orlando. landed an internship with the Altamonte Springs Snappers of the Florida Collegiate Summer League, it\'s a wood-bat league. I be covering about 40 games over the course of two months. When its over I get $500 to boot. I have weekly monday morning meetings and most games start at 7 p.m. with doubleheaders on the weekend. think that about covers everything.

according to the jambase.com list of dates, there is a tentative show on the 16th of June in saratoga at lee\'s campground, which is just down the road from SPAC, which makes me think it\'ll be an aftershow for some larger name... also on the bill is The Breadbox Band..
For those who haven\'t been, Lee\'s is a haven for t00r trash and nitrous tanks after SPAC shows...

i stayed at lee\'s after the dead show at spac in 2004. it was a pretty wild night. people go nuts at that place.
is it possible that the breakfast will play with other bands for the event? i didn\'t know that lee\'s actually booked bands to come play shows and whatnot. this has potential to be an insane evening..especially if something is happening at spac earlier in the night.
