I find this kind a distrubing yet madly ingenious.

5) You can snap pieces of the blade off so you don\'t have to worry about washing off blood.
Yes well it is there for self-protection. I doubt I will ever need it in Amherst, but I do a lot of traveling, some times to not the nicest places. (*cough*Webster*cough*)
It is there, easily and quickly accessible should I ever need it. I went for boxcutter because: 1) Is is heavy
2) You can pop the blade out as you\'re picking it up with no risk of hurting yourself (seeing as switchblades are illegal.... though EMS does have some nice "spring-assisted" knives- I\'ll probably get one of those in the near future.)
3) It has a lot of practical applications. I use it pretty regularly.
4) If I have to ditch it, no biggie, no big financial loss.
5) You can snap pieces of the blade off so you don\'t have to worry about washing off blood.
Wow I thought you lived in a serene forested area not the fricken\' ghetto.
I agree. I will knife any inflatable decoration I see after sundown with the boxcutter I keep in my driver-side door pocket.
I just don\'t understand.... sure there are dates to "celebrate" but do you think those dates are the exact date..... no they are proposed holidays by some person that everyone now excepts. I celebrate an occurrence, a significant event in the history of man. Maybe Polocks are different, we pre-celebrate it, we celebrate it and we post celebrate it, you can\'t dedicate one day to something significant to your life. it\'s like the alternate theory of Valentines Day..... there shouldn\'t be one day where your obligated to do something nice for your significant other it should be an everyday thing and once in a while you do something special for the hell of it.
those are just my thoughts........
I always think it\'s weird when people open christmas presents on christmas eve or whatever. But who am i to tell someone when to celebrate? However, people need to take their decorations down if they are still up after new years. It\'s bad enough that they go up earlier and earlier every year. I saw Christmas **** go up like right after halloween this year.
I don\'t understand how what I said could **** leith off but to each his own, as for nikki, it appears that anyone who disagrees with you is an ass? I\'d hate to be one of your students.
Are people seriously arguing/pissed off over this? It\'s getting hard to tell.
if there is any real irritation here then I would have to say that this is one of the most ridiculous, trivial arguments I have ever seen.
I agree. I will knife any inflatable decoration I see after sundown with the boxcutter I keep in my driver-side door pocket.
while I don\'t have any Russian that I know of, I am part Slovak and mostly Irish, and I don\'t drink that much either. Do you have to drink to be Irish? no. Is that even what the celebration is about? no, it\'s about a Christian bishop who drove snakes off an island where they were never thought to exists at all (rumors are that is really means he drove the pagan religions from the island which used snake symbolism) and who also is said to have used the clover to explain the trinity. (Imagine what he would have said if presented with a 4 leaf clover). People just like to use it as an excuse to drink, much the same as when they get smashed every year in may with a complete lack of knowledge towards the battle of puebla .
regardless I\'m more Irish than anything else and I take offense to that, so :finger: you leith!
Well Leith,
I am glad to make your day.
I will be sending another post out in a few months.
You remind me of the boy that talks a lot of junk on the playground, that one day finds himself with a black eye from a girl.
You seem to dish out alot of controversy everytime I look at .info, your always pissing someone off, to your pleasure. You prob. do it b/c you are so far away and noone can get you, hence the playground scenario.
I think that everyone should ignore Leith!
Have a great St. Patrick\'s Day Leith, we\'ll always be celebrating it alot earlier than you
Nikki
welcome to like 5 months ago. it\'s already out on dvd...

judaism is a religion, not a country. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Israel):hscratch:
I thought Holly was a jew....
Yeah well no one ever accused the Irish of being logical right? ;)
We on the right coast know how to party!! Why spend one day celebrating when you can spend a week. Sorry.....
#1 Leith stop talking enough already outta you
This is the way it is done in new haven, I guess you have to be glad you don\'t live here
b/c then you would be stuck and have to celebrate a St. Patty\'s Day parade on a day it wasn\'t
#2 California is great, california is #1, I wish I lived in california to celebrate holidays on the day they are really on.
#3 you are always fighting up hill, the majority of the folks on .info are from the east coast so in a nice way "shove it up yer ass"
#4 I\'ve seen you before, you are pretty scrawny, if you come to CT. you might get your ass kicked by another scrawny ass Aruny.
#5 Jordan and I went to the St. patty\'s parade, it was filled with a lot of idiotic people, one girl was humping a guy(with clothes on) in the middle of the route before the parade started. There was almost a huge fight in front of us and then the guys made up.
we had a huge crew of lesbians, next to us I felt like I was in San Francisco leith! Then I almost got in a fight-surprise!
When the female football team(or whatever it was marched by they all started cheering.
we went to the anchor>sullivans>senor panchos to eat!
LONG LIVE GUINNESS
LONG LIVE PARADES ON THE WRONG DAYS
I LOVE LIVING MY LIFE ASS BACKWARDS!
Just seems pretty inconsiderate to the culture to celebrate a holiday on a different day than it actually is just because it\'s convenient. I mean why bother celebrating on the 17th?[-]Well, if it\'s done on a weekday, people are stuck in the traffic it creates rather than on the street enjoying it.[/-]
although i am not always proud of my green side, my god, does that side of my family know how to party! much more so than the communist russian side..
Holidays should be celebrated on the day they are on. As for a Federal Holiday that is observed, its just a way for the government employees to get an extra day off each year...
I do not understand what point your trying to make, elaboration requested please.
so by that reasoning we should ONLY celebrate the 4th of July on that day and all other fire works and picnics are a cultural inconsideration..................
"Thank you, come again" in Apu voice
Who celebrates the 4th of July on any day but the 4th?
I know I have always celebrated the 4th on the 4th. If you mean how federal buidings are closed on fridays etc. well are the parades then? No they are on the 4th. At least here in California as long as I have been alive.

Well San Diego\'s parade is on St. Patrick\'s Day every year. You know the day it\'s actually celebrated?
No matter what day of the week it falls on and is held rain or shine. Usually don\'t have to worry about that.
Just seems pretty inconsiderate to the culture to celebrate a holiday on a different day than it actually is just because it\'s convenient. I mean why bother celebrating on the 17th? Seems like it lessens the actual holiday.
It is St. Patrick\'s Day but still if you\'re gonna give it holiday status w/ a parade and all............
i agree leith. st. patties parade should be on st. patties day. logical enough.
if you want to party for a week leading up to the holiday go ahead, but the parade should be the big shabang-grand-finally. not that i really care either way.
The parade is always the Sunday before the 17th. Doing it on Sunday makes sense for many reasons, so does keeping it the same every year. How is San Diego\'s parade?
Yeah, a dry parade beats public intoxication any day. :rolleyes:whateva!
nyc owns new haven\'s st. patty\'s day parade.
:sigh: East Coasters :sigh:
No wonder I can\'t stand that side of the coast. Closer to Ireland than we are and still can\'t figure out St. Patrick\'s Day is on the 17th!
:( Sorry bri - i really wanted to go to this, but after a night @ the Knit it was way too hard to get the crowd interested in going anywhere but home. I hope you had good times, & we\'ll def be at the party next year!
Bri, came walkin up that way but didnt run into u however i was in zombie mode and seeing Freddie there made me think i was actually dead with him and it was the after life (based on how i and know he felt)
thats probably because a lot of people march in both parades. youre on a roll here Leith..another failed attempt though, and im sure neither coast can stand you
:sigh: East Coasters :sigh:

^^^ don\'t forget you need to disappear for MONTHS...... hoser.... you ready for the 07\' golf season Antbach
i wish i lived a little closer to New Haven... RI sucks ballstrue. but ya miss it when you leave for some stupid reason
then move.
easier said than done my friendnah, alls you need to do is go broke, give 4 weeks notice, turn down a huge raise, and poof, you\'re moved
All you need is a job or you can commute.thought about commuting up there everyday, but then did some math and realized it would cost me just as much in gas commuting to RI everyday than it does paying rent, plus you really can\'t do much since you\'ll be wiped and go to sleep almost right away cos ya have to do it all over again the next day starting 3 hours earlier than if you lived within a reasonable distance to the job
easier said than done my friend
then move.
it\'s 45-50 with a 30% chance of rain that sounds like pretty damn good odds of having a nice day.
didn\'t your boyfriend volunteer to stay home and watch them for you so you could go out?

:(
maybe catch a couple of hours of sleep
My new plan (full of holes, taboot): drive to greater New Haven area on Saturday, make someone drive me from there into NYC (possibly against their will,) hang around who knows where for a while after the Knit, stay for parade. It\'s just hard to pass up a good excuse to drink in the morning.
This is not a very good plan though, because I still have the whole dog/cat/lizard/snake/hedgehog/fish/horses care thing to deal with, and I don\'t like asking people to help me out two weekends in a row.

Why are you scared? you will probably go to the Iron Horse and then leave right after the show...then do nothing on friday, and then work on saturday, debate the drive into the city all day, and then decide to bag on it......i am sure you will have a nice well rested weekend Broseph....you know...billychags style
:nope: bri, opening your house to the bfam... i don\'t think you realize what you\'re in for!
I hope to be parading around half-naked by the time the parade begins.
 beer for breakfast!!!!
I\'ve seen you do it before like it was your job.
