Man, I am so surprised that your Militant Grammarian gf didn\'t correct you on Connecticut!!! :sigh:
Correct.
There is, however, a need for it to secede.
ZING!
Jocelyn, you\'re great. Never change. :P

There is no need for Connecticut to succeed.
Correct.
There is, however, a need for it to secede.

There is no need for Connecticut to secede. If you want to talk about fixing new england, then:
1. Get all the ignorant **** to realize that new york is not part of new england for starters.
2. Cancel the Missouri compromise. Make Maine part of Massachusetts again. We only broke it off so that we could justify letting a new southern pro-slave state into the union but we didn\'t want to break the balance of power in congress. I think that argument has long since been settled.
And anyway, 1776 was a lot earlier than 1820. Get off your high horse and start charging taxes up there before you\'re overrun with Boston’s suburban sprawl. You know it will happen Amherst. Stop kidding yourself.

The market is way over saturated as it is. As a former resident of CT. You either associate with teams to the north (patriots, Celtics, bruins, redSox) or to the south (Yankees, Giants / jets, Rangers, Islanders, Mets Knicks etc).
Or both like myself (Yankees, Bruins), other teams I root for are in Miami
-
Dude. This thread is not about that. It is about getting CT to secede from New England.
Get the net!
:P

Since we\'re talking geography and (vaguely) pro football... I say the more relevant change would be to get the Dallas Cowboys out of the NFC East.
And before anybody bothers, I realize that there is history/rivalry with the Eagles, Redskins, and G-Men that make this change illogical from an interest and financial standpoint. Just saying that, if we\'re going to realign the United States, let\'s go all the way.
Oh yeah, and people in South Carolina aren\'t allowed to cheer for the Carolina Panthers anymore, either.

its better than connectacunt

CT cannot sustain its own pro franchise they proved that with the whale

it has become clear that conneticut is no longer a part of new england. the term "new england" is little more than a geographical curiosity at this point. it will likely never change unless there is a serious disruption in the universe.
tell you what. if we can arrange to produce a top notch football team of conneticut\'s own, say, in new haven, would the residents be willing to propose secessation in a serious political forum. citing conneticut\'s outgrowth of the folk art, textile mill, cottage industry being that is the rest of new england, (VT, NH, ME, RI). perhaps conneticut should be seen as a sister to new york. a rich one.
a really excessive football team in new haven could win the super bowl in five years. it would also create a nationally recognized landmark for conneticut, in the general football ranting that usually goes on.
