yeah, it was discussed when the review was first posted.. what a toolshed..

I don\'t think that anybody has posted about this. Maybe I\'m just the only bitter prick on the board who still calls journalists out for stuff like this.
Palmeiri as Jimi Hendrix, complete with a four-foot diameter afro wig; Spears as some sort of bizarre nutcracker with indescribable futuristic glasses; and Tramontano cleverly disguised as the drummer for The Breakfast.
K-Mac couldn\'t figure out Les Claypool and Neil Peart, even after songs by Primus and Rush were played? Makes me feel like I could get a job high-up in the Relix world.

I\'ve been working dilligently on the Breakfast Almanac since summer of 01...
Should be done in about 3 years.

well there is always The Breakfast Digest. problem is, the digest just doesn\'t have as many readers as relix. in all serness though, fan submissions can be sent to breakfastdigest@yahoo.com. i think we are just about due for a new issue...?

:gulp: maybe someone can write a magazine for .info...i work for a printing company...come on... we can all network together and start something that will make sure people in the scene :gulp: can be well informed about all the jamband-type artists starting with the Breakfast, and covering the local scene, new artists, and forgottten artists, all the local shows and festies...all that jazz...what do you all think????:deadhorse

Jambase.com
Jambase can be very annoying. Lately they seem to have strayed from their core jam coverage to write front-page articles about metal and emo bands, while bands that really jam (like The Breakfast) can be left to languish with little coverage.
It\'s great that they cover other types of music, but it seems like many of those upcoming tour articles don\'t belong on there. I looked at the top searches page and many of these metal/emo bands aren\'t even being looked at by the jambase masses, while the Breakfast always cracks the top-50. Someone must be paying for coverage (at the expense of grassroots jam coverage).

there is so much out there, just ask me or probally anyone else on this board if you get stuck, or want more resources!
Relix to me is right there with Top 40 radio, and Mtv... explore more than what the media feeds ya! Its definetly has its rewards!
oh my!

I don\'t think they own as much as u say...atleast in the mental...relex is the last place I would go to for the music scene...I would read a High Times anyday over relix for music! High Times actually, believe it or not, has excellent writers I get \'em every month... But there are plenty of other media sources like Jambase.com, Nugs.net if you go to festies there are all kinds of magazines and clubs like "NOTES on the scence" or "Homegrown music"... there is so much out there, just ask me or probally anyone else on this board if you get stuck, or want more resources!

Fortunately, the guitar is played with the hands.
relix sucks...unless you get them free ones your friend at the bookstore gives w/ the cover ripped off...but, I did enjoy reading that claypool article...anyone who seen this issue should read \'bout claypool\'s 5 most memorable acid trips...quite entertaining
Relix in some ways does suck. Unfortuately they the are one large sucking gorilla in the Jam scene. They really own the ballgame.
But hey....I hold my breath. I think we might actually get some good ink out of them.
Hope spring eternal. If this CD jumps a bit more it will be hard for the biz to ignore the band.

I\'mwell aware of it Fred.
We have been bitching at them as to their innatentiveness to The Breakfast since they trashed Real Radio, and we have not spent any money with them since that. That combined with the strong showing at radio will hopefully motivate them to give this record the review it deserves.
Now, if that happens we might start moving some units, and we could perhaps go on their comp or run some print.
Problem is, Relix is unbelievably expensive. They own the market and know it. I wish the band would do a better jo of selling at gigs because that is the way we get the cash to do this stuff.

vic,it could be huge.
kids nowadays read relix, and whatever relix tells them is good, they automatically love.
sad really.
-
I think it comes out on the 20th.
-
im talking about the relix review of moxie epoxy.
this needs to happen and it needs to be a good review.
-
it\'s a review of the freakout show.... http://www.relix.com/content/view/1915/112/
I\'m waiting for them to be on the cover!! BTW, I have a subscription to relix, and while I enjoy reading it on my lunch break, I have to say the free cds they\'ve been including for the last few months have been just horrible IMO. There\'s always a couple of good tracks on it, but the rest is just blah. It\'s cool that they do it, cuz of course i\'m down for hearing new music and possibly getting a new cool band to see. But man, lots of these "jambands" just flat out suck. I can\'t believe they never included a moxie track on one of these, or even reviewed the cd in the magazine. It sure would help the band get some more exposure, as opposed to promoting the other crap (as compared to the breakfast). U-Melt\'s "Air" was on the last one, Claypool had one on one from a few months ago, and ALO had a good one on there. Those are the only good ones that come to mind.

i been waitin for the relix review to come in.

So I went to check out relix.com today and right away I noticed the new photo of the breakfast down my the reviews section, but when I went to click on it, there was no mention of them anywhere. Just wondering what the deal is with that ****?
