I thank FrankZappa and TPalms for meeting me last night to get the tickets. When I finally realized that going to ZPZ would kill me, I decided to get rid of the last ticket. I thought I made 2 good choices by giving the tickets to these two. I do not know any other people who are bigger fans of Zappa\'s music. I know that I could not have enjoyed the show as much as these 2, so I was happy they went and had a great time.
  SPACEY=DA MAN

yea, they are in nyc tonight but no way I\'m paying $90 US to see a cover band.
Especially when I just saw them for FREE.
Lucky barstool - just had to rub it in, didn\'t you!!!

Glad you guys enjoyed the show. Strangely enough, I was actually listening to the Milan show from earlier this year in the car yesterday and today.I think they are beginning to integrate new stuff - Brain Police and Regyptian are definitely new songs in the set. Just wish I could have justified the exhorbitant ticket prices when they came over here.
-
wonder how long it will last till they start integrating new stuff.
-
i read something along those lines in The Advocate.
-
I think I remember reading that they only learned so many songs for this tour because they wanted to have the songs known perfectly and thought it would have been a disservice to Zappa to go and play songs less than perfect.
-
yeah, kinda lame. but imagine not looking at prevoius shows\' setlists and seeing that ****! oh, it was grimey.
-
yeah, but that\'s how the vast majority of concerts are. i once had a cousin try to convince me to go on a multi-day, multi-state metallica run and i was like, \'but d00d, why would i travel out of state to see the same thing three times in a row???"
sometimes i forget how nicely we\'ve been spoiled and how lame the rest of the universe is!
thats the thing though, zappa himself said that he liked to make every show unique for each place they were playing at. so why wouldn\'t his family continue that tradition? just can\'t handle to learn more of the catalogue? or lack the genius mind to come up w/ original and unique setlists every night?

salli~ they play very close to the same set every night. a couple songs may change, and even those don\'t change daily.
lexington mentioned that earlier, pretty weak IMO
-
Yeah she\'s just lonely because my dad has been away for over a month on business trips/ racing the car.
-

First, Spacey wins the tickets, he GIVES me one, I\'ll see you later. Then Dobs and his girl it turns out are sitting right next to me. Still waiting for Spacey... who comes? The man he gave the other ticket to - Timmy Palmeri. Honestly, is there anyone better to go to a zappa show with? Spacey=THE MAN.
syncronicity, sounds like the way our whole weekend went, wish I coulda gone, glad you guys had a good time.
-
so much fun! the music was so great...I wish I knew all of you guys were going.
-
I\'m going to eat some lunch and take a nap for an hour and then head out. Show starts at 7, yes? I think I will probably have to just meet you there; I\'m too tired to try and do this without a nap.
I\'ll call you when I\'m on my way down.
I took that as you would leave in an hour and call us... Also, I replied to it. You really did miss a great show though. :(
-
last night was fun
-
Dude, not my fault. The last time I checked my voicemail was 4:00, which was when I needed to leave to not have to drive 75-80 to get there in time. (And even 4 was pushing it if I wanted to get there before 7 on the dot.) No message, so I went out into the deep woods of nowhere (i.e., no cellphone reception, not that it would have mattered, due to the time) to visit my mom who has been very lonely lately.
Clearly I wanted to be there. duh. It\'s just kind of hard when you are 3 hours away and are figuring out plans literally last minute.
-
Wish I had a shread of energy left after this weekend....and a free ticket! Looks like a kick ass show!! And yes, Timmy is def. a person with which to enjoy a Zappa related show! Saw Project Object with him the first time I saw them.
