corporate, capitalistic bastards....arrrrggggg!!!!!!!

Added to the list of the 1001 reasons why I don\'t listen to the radio.

That sucks to be a DJ and not even be albe to pick the songs you play...
Not only do DJs not get to pick what they play, they usually don\'t even get to hear wheat they DO play.
WPLR uses The Prophet system. many of the shows are taped in advance. The DJ announces the record, and then does whatever comes after the record. The computer later inserts the music. This means that a 4 hour show is done in 2 hours. They only pay you for that....
The world gets better every day.

I dug the reference to the Sea Grape in Fairfield... I don\'t remember which voice said it was his favorite bar. I live across the street from said establishment.

Hopefully it can at least get into rotation during the "local bands show" every Sunday night at 10 pm. It looks like that would be the only hour where the DJ actually has any say as to what is played on the air. Gotta love Clear Channel :sigh::rolleyes:

My brother is is an on-air personality for 99.9 and does fill in work at PLR their sister station. He says the playlist is set for him at least, and there is no opportunity to "mix it up" a little.

Sometime during the week they will have it up on http://www.thelocalbandsshow.com

Great promo work! I\'m sorry I missed hearing this. Is it possible to start requesting Intension on PLR now? If they have the CD & get enough requests, I\'m sure they\'ll have to start putting it into rotation! :D
I\'m pretty sure PLR has a set playlist, I mentioned this myself in the CCC thread. Yeah def wish I had heard this.
Can someone in the New Haven area, pick me up an extra copy of said newspapers.

Tonite on WPLR at around 10PM...sometimes earlier by maybe 15 minutes... Alex Defelice and myself chat up Rick ?llison and James Velvet about the state of local bands with a healthy section dicussing Moxie Epoxy and the Freakout. Intension gets a spin....largely because it is the shortest up tempo song on the record.
Tune in....tell your friends....
On another note. Look for features in Pkay magazine, The New Haven Advocate, and The New Haven Register.
Nice, some good exposure right before the Freakout. Bfast management getting things done.:yay::thumbsup:
