I really liked syd. I had to be in the right mood for it, but when I was it was the *perfect* music. Pipers is still a top album for me. :thumbsup:

This summer gets worse and worse - first Vince goes off to jam with Jerry, then Syd finally shuffles off to the Great Gig In The Sky. They say things come in threes. What\'s going to happen next?

When you have undiagnosed (at the time) pre-existing mental problems. eating a lot of acid isn\'t going to help.

His mental issues were exasperated by his heavy drug use. So it probably sped up his symptoms but it would have caught up to him eventually wit or without drugs IMHO.

I personally like the Syd era of floyd. The music was very much different than the stuff they did after him.

I really like the story waters tells about the band having not seen Syd in years and when they are recording Shine on you crazy Diamond in the studio (A song about Syd) he just walks right in to the studio. they hadn\'t seen him forever and he just happens to come to the studio the very day they are recording a song about him.
