Title: For immediate release
Post by: Overexjoesure on July 14, 2006, 05:58:40 pm
I have no idea what they do, but knowing their relationship with him in the past and the amount of time they\'ve had to think about a replacement for Jordan I think it would be silly if they hadnt contacted him by now!!

Like I said, I\'m sure the band has contacted him already. If not I\'ll mention it to him when I see him on Steely ter.... ;)

You think they asked him?

Beau Sasser is brilliant. His style is very malleable, leaning more towards Fagen and Corea, than Jimmy Smith.  His songwriting is topnotch as well.

Ding Ding Ding, contact him.  I think you can look him up through the Akashic message board.

Is Beau really that talented (is he the Uncle Sammy dude that went to Berklee school?)?  I have no recollection, as I saw Uncle Sammy back in 2000 and the horns were overpowering the other instruments when I saw Akashic Record.

I\'m sure he has been notified.  He\'s the number one spot in my book.  Doesn\'t have the gruff Jordan voice, but he can pull of a fantastic Fagen when he puts his mind to it.

Beau Sasser

either one of these fantastic talents will propel The Breakfast into national stardom.....at least in the jamband circuit.

Beau Sasser plays in Akashic Record, alongside Uncle Sammy alum Tom Arey.  I went on their website the other day and noticed a fraction of dates compared to Breakfast (and I thought the Breakfast calendar was looking a little slim).  Wonder if they are also working day jobs.  Notify the dude of an opening in Breakfastville.

couple problems

1. He lives in Atlanta
2. He\'d probably have to take a pretty serious pay cut from his job as a solo gig playing machine to join the boys.

1. Lives in Atlanta - pffft. MOVE! Uproot your family! Consquences be damned!  We\'re talking opportunity of a lifetime here! (Only slightly kidding)

2. REALLY?!?!? Damn I need to get out to more shows and support.

He just moved from Wallingford to Atlanta, doubtful that he wants to do that again, I know I hate to move.

WTF

Sequoia is the man on keys... under-rated and maybe underappreciated... but **** IMO he\'s proven himself ....... what would See The Light be without Jordan?

wack, what\'s he got to do that\'s better than Breakfast?

Alright it\'s been done to death but I\'ll throw in one more:

Ian Schummacher (sp?)  Saw him jam w/ Tim @ BAR the night before 1,000.  Rythym guitar=whatever, but his VOCALS are outstanding.  Good stage pressence too.  Seems to need a gig.  Totally didn\'t mind taking a back seat to some nasty Timmy jams, and even seemed to encourage it so it seems ego wouldn\'t be a problem.

I know, they want a keyboard player, but like the NFL draft, don\'t pick for need, take the best player available. :D

how about J.Cobb....???
it means a lot that you would suggest this, but do you know what it would do to my ego to have to play next to tim every day?  a sit in every now and again is enough.  plus i\'d have the same situation with my job which i love very much.

is there anyway to send out the "help wanted" ad to either jambase.com/jambands.com??? although I have lost much respect for these sites over the years due to thier motivation$ and choice of coverage, I think it would be a good outlet to help fill the void... my .o2

....you think we haven\'t called Stoops....lol.....

Thanks for the thoughts.  We have thought about a couple of guitarists that play very chordally, but we really want to beat the bushes for keys first.

We have some pretty good prospects to sort through.

The reason the band wants to do some trio dates is to make sure we finf the right person...not just sticking abyone in there because we have to.

Yeah, I wouldn\'t want to see a new addition unless he/she was really talented (and compatible with the band\'s style).

You should think about soliciting key players in other markets with lots of talent.  Easy enough to post a Craigslist memo in a couple other key cities.  I see plenty of great key players in the S.F. area that don\'t even have a formal band to play with, and resort to side projects at local venues.  I saw a "sick" key player last night, probably should have mentioned an opening for a great band back in CT.

Edit: Just noticed the search is broader than the New Haven area in the \'Farewell Jordan\' thread.

Given the current situation:

THE BREAKFAST SEEKS NEW KEYBOARD PLAYER/VOCALIST

After 7 ? years without a lineup change, up and coming rock/jamband The Breakfast is seeking a new keyboard player/vocalist. Jordan Giangreco is leaving the band to pursue other interests.

?It is with deep regret that I have decided to leave my post as keyboard player for The Breakfast,? Giangreco said.  ?This is one of the hardest decisions I have ever made in my life.  For the past seven years I have experienced pure musical bliss that one can only dream about.  I feel fortunate and lucky to have played with three of the best musicians on the scene.  My experience with The Breakfast has been unforgettable, exciting, humbling and satisfying.?

?I would like to thank The Breakfast fans for all their support through the years, and also to thank those who devoted their time and effort on the band?s behalf,? said Giangreco.

The Breakfast will solicit demos and hold auditions in order to find a replacement.  The band will fulfill their tour schedule and commitments, as well as any and all future shows and opportunities during this transition.  Submissions can be sent to:

The Breakfast
58 Bradley Ave. 2nd Floor
Hamden, CT. 06514

Inquiries can also be e-mailed to: tim@thebreakfast.org or ronwspears@sbcglobal.net.
