definition of casino fiasco: antbach in Atlantic City this weekend. . . I tryed so hard walking the boardwalk looking for an "I got my ass **** in A.C." t-shirt to no avail.
-
Im pretty sure davepeck was the only one who walked away with some $ in this said casino fiasco
not awake at 3:31pm?
-
Much too much time spent losing $$ at casino (DRY one at that!!!)...show up late to a certain festie...miss chance to hang with certain hosts of said festie...lost chance at possible sitin at said festie. (IMHO)
oh THAT casino fiasco.. when al z chimed in, i thought y\'all were talking about crystal bay.. then again, that was \'06, wasn\'t it? ah yes.. i\'m not awake yet..
-
Casino Fiasco would be a GREAT album title. I know people who would buy it based on that alone.
Any time anything is referred to as a fiasco I am immediately interested.

yes, \'casino fiasco\' elaboration needed.
oh, and ^^^ there\'s your name for the new album! ;)
-
the band lost there name in a poker tournament. hence, the name change to The Breakfast.

can someone elaborate on this casino fiasco?

C\'mon there are some good writers on this board, and this looks like a good story to tell.

they probably lost all there money

:hscratch:

Could someone please tell the band (ask nicely) to skip out on the casino for once. Maybe chill with some moe. people before the show. I think this is an opportunity that needs to be taken advantage of.
The casino fiasco: one of the worst decisions in 2005?
Without a doubt in my mind!!!

SalliAlli you have a most awesome signature. Yurtle..wehat a character...
i started this to ask about availiable seats in yar car, because i\'m in for an adventure... but...just realizzed that ill be all tied up at graduation :hair: what a bummer...i love philly too. scarey. but its nice really. (one time i sat and had a Sweet Tea with a construction worker! it was so great the way he said Sweet Tea!)
anyways
So good for the Breakfast!
-
The only thing left to do now is to get the Super Bowl halftime show. Do they play three 3-minute songs like most bands? Or do they just pummel America with a nice 9-minute Escher\'s Etchings?
For the record, I\'ll agree that this show takes the title for "best-looking-opener-on-paper", edging out 7/11/02 when they opened for Raq and Particle at Great American Music Hall in San Fran.
-
Pontiac Grill is the perfect location for a aftershow. right on South St. or Cavanaugh\'s, in Penn\'s Landing. Quagmire Swimteam are doing an after party for Jam on the River there next weekend....
-
:that: that would/could be HUGE!
-
some one (tim) sitting in would be key for the band gaining fans. hopefully they dont just play and then leave per usual.
band members sitting in with other bands would be quit key. i would love to see a set or two at a bar somwhere after the show... now that would be awesome
-

especially when he burns chuck like a marshmallow
-
I\'m def gonna go.I know that people can not always make these events but i think someone should be there to hand out fliers, cds and do promotions...Im okay with being that person
Plus george can drive on the way back
Absolutely. I\'ll totally be ready for a long haul of a drive. It\'ll be nothing compared to driving to Ohio which i did a few days ago. I\'m gonna be driving back tonight. Give me a redbull and i\'m like a driving machine.
-
Capacity at teh Festival Peir is around 7k.

Anyone know the capacity of the pier?

must check fund$ and such- def. going if there is a show planned for latenight...
me too! if there\'s gonna be latenight bfast, nothing is stopping me.
-
I think you hit it with the coda show. It seemed to me like there was more people at the knit in feb than at teh coda. but I dont recall much of anything else going on that night either. PJ def had a bit of an impact but I dont think dso did too much. they were done playing by like 11-11:30. but the disco biscuits playing in albany def hurt the draw that night too.
see we should have had somebody outside the DSO show pointing the way to the Coda to get some more heads in there. they would have made it before the band even went on. maybe some sort of reduced admission for people holding DSO tickets. it\'s stupid stuff like that that needs to happen to get people in the doors. i didn\'t even know DSO was playing around there.
-
As far as we know showtime is 6. We only get 45 min. i thing NMAS get an hour. So if Moe hits about 8:30 they get two set done by 11.
With all due respect Spacey...it isn\'t management\'s job to cart folks to the gigs. We try to creat a climate where folks WILL come, and we work with the promoters to help do that.
The circumstances around the Cods gig should obviously explain why there was not a great turn out. However all due diligence was done to promote the show. Obviously Pearl Jam is exponentially bigger band...and even DSO is more popular. If each band took 35 heads that might have attended, the crowd is doubled and everyone is a least content. If all knew who the competiton was that night, there might not have been any gig. But whatever, the promoter asked, and we played. Quite well i might add.
Developing a big draw like say ...moe. take along time and a lot of dollars. We work it every say, and shows like this put the band in a better light, and in front of more potential new fans than ANYthing else that can be done.
When you make a snide statement that implies we should not only find an promote shows...but club folks and drag them there, you really embarass the generally intelligent tone of this forum. You know better than that.
just a heads up here, again. it seems ticketmaster has sent out an email update to all who purchased tickets to the festie pier moe. show that the time has changed. its no longer doors at 5 show at 6. its doors at 4 show at 5. not trying to say you are wrong steffmo(cuz obviously you know more than I do about this stuff), but maybe you guys just havent been told yet(cuz I doubt there is gonna be a 4th band added before the breakfast at 6 but stranger things have happened).

Unfortunately, I have a wedding rehearsal Fri. evening and a wedding to shoot Sat. 10:45-8.
-
<<<<<< may be down.. haven\'t seen the moe. in a while, and Philly is always worth the drive... must check fund$ and such- def. going if there is a show planned for latenight...I have to make sure to feast on a cheesesteak this time around.. the air there just smells like \'em, it is insanity
-
i\'d be glad to help. i\'m planning on going to this as long as everything works out.
-
<<<<<
-
so who is actually planning on going to this. i\'m prolly gonna burn a couple cd\'s and need to get a bunch of the 1000th show flyers printed up, just wanted to know if there are people going that might be able to help the cause.
-
Tim and Greg live right around the corner :duck:
-
You know it Gfunk! Good job on getting into
Paier! You are gonna have so much fun living in NewHaven!
HOORAY GEORDIE
thanks Al. yeah i need to find a place now cause paier has no housing whatsoever. i\'m gonna live in the ghetto.
-
uuuuummmmmmmmmm....prolly not.
-
uuuuummmmmmmmmm....prolly not.
-
so does this mean your not going to drive me to the philly show now steffmo? ;)
-
Spacey..
All is cool. Y\'all just need to know that on the exec side we get at least as frustrated with this **** as you. After a night like the Coda thing alex has to spend a certain amount of political time calming down the promoter,,,,who actually did quite a bit of promo....we simply didn\'t win the war that night. Nonetheless...when promoters give the band a good guarantee, it MAKES them do the promotion. When its a straight door deal, like so many in the past....they don\'t care because they still make the bar, and don\'t have to fork that over to the band to cover the nut.
Anyway....we want this to succeed even more than you guys do. Some of us have a major part of our career future riding on it. Thi ngs might not always turn out the way we want, but it won\'t be because we are slacking.

i definately agree, a post moe. set is in order. i was so pumped to see this, such a great slot! i think now it is up to the fans to promote the **** out of the band. everyone likes free cds. Sally Al, i call a spot in yer car ;)
-
get a room :)
-
Steffmo - I really appreaciate what management is doing and what everyone is doing. I was busting balls without purpose.
I have to say the bands gigs look 100% better than last year. And opening for these other "larger" acts is a great idea.
I have no gruff and well, I love you, man!
carry on.

the new album wormwood?
-
the site did say doors at 5 and show at 6 yesterday(since it was put up it has.) I guess the breakfast are now playing at 5, not 6. makes sense for sure. they cant play past 11 at festie pier.
I feel bad for all the booze cruisers(unless of course they can get the captain to park like right outside festie pier for the last hour to catch the b-fast)
even more reason for the breakfast to play after moe. they could play during moe. but I wont be there :)
-
from Penn\'s Landing site
moe.
Friday June 9, 2006
Door time 4:00 p.m. / Show time 5:00 p.m.
The new album from moe. Wormwood solves a puzzle pondered by countless bands that have never been able to marry their performing and recording sides without some sort of compromise. Not so with Wormwood, a live/studio hybrid, as much the product of meticulous editing and overdubbing as risky, go-for-it improvisation. Check them out with North Mississippi All Stars and The Breakfast at the Festival Pier. Tickets on sale now, CLICK HERE

Thank alec Defelice and Crescendo for this
the reason i said crescendo needed to go was becuase the first guy(brett?) had his head up his ass.
seems to be running a lot smoother now, though. GIT ER DUN

too bad booking shows isn\'t enough. what good is having shows when no one come out. great example is Coda and dare I say, Mill Street.
book away but perhaps this upper echelon can get people to the show or is that not important.
-
Todd you better get down to this show and take some pics. Ellis may have a SER light rig at his disposal for this
the way the stage is set up at festie pier, the sun will be in the background of the stage from about 5 to sundown(7:30-8). and from what I was told from last years moe. set there opening for the abb, the sun is gonna be blinding everyone looking at teh stage till it goes down.
lights prolly wont be usable at all until teh end of nmas\'s set.
-

Don\'t get too excited.
With an early start time it may not be really dark and being the 1st of 3 bands there is no way Ellis will have anything but pars. It will be alot of pars but pars nonetheless.

rotfl Kroop is NOT going on the road. Are you SER?????
-
If booking continues to look on the up and up I would think Kroop would be the perfect canidate for Road Manger. This way Ron would have some time to practice some Jaco runs....
-
Its all good...I dig Kroop and work with him on other stuff.
-
I still vote for Kroop.
-
Thank alec Defelice and Crescendo for this. You know...the guys you all wanted to dump for a Kroop reprise a few months ago.
Yeah they are doing their job. Come on.
-

Mike love that new avatar, too fuckin funny!
-
looks like a hell of a lineup :)
-
they should play a set after moe. at the northstar
or a set during moe and a set after hehehe
-
Nice slot.
-
Not counting festivals, this would be their biggest gig yet. Hopefully the first of many, many, many, many more.
-
this could and should be HUGE publicity wise
-
wha what? This is great! Im there...no matter what...This is gonna be a great time to hand out cd\'s and digests like @ moe down
-
Here\'s to more opening to slots for big-name bands!!
-
thats a great show! keep up the good work steffmo!
-
Khyber is closer. not a bad idea.
i was thinking more along the lines of the Pontiac Grill on South Street. BP used to play there and Quagmire Swin Team played there last year after the Jam on the River
-
even sadder that I cannot get out there for the show now!! damn...
-
or the Khyber. which one is closer?
-
they should play a set after moe. at the northstar
-
they need to canel the opening slot for the worst generic reggae ever and play in VA w/ moe. at teh best small ampitheater i have seen. did i mention the WolfTrap in Vienna is BYOB on the Lawn? perfect for Breakfast fans!
-
great googily moogily!
i\'m already on for that moe. run, Utica> Boston> Philly> VA> Pitts> NYC, Pitts and NYC are far from definite at this point, but we\'ll see.
-
The next night PB is at the Saranac Brewery. Sooooo pissed that I will miss that one!!! Damn weddings!!!
-
they def need to be playing the following night ad well w/ moe. and NMAS
well, i am happy and saddened at the sametime about this. i too refuse to go in and waste tons of money seeing NMAS before moe. wish it were the breakfast after NMAS.
now just get them on the VIenna, Va show and a few more this summer and i will be a very happy camper :)
-
as much as this kicks so much ass, Im still not going in early for nmas. I\'ll see them play from side stage in the parking lot, while pregaming still :) Ill see all of nmas\' set the following day so no need to see it this night.
someone please tell me that the breakfast are also gonna play with them in vienna?
-
Somebody should get on the moe. boards and hype this up....
igzy i\'m looking at you guy!
*Hey Whathefunk- Get your own signature!
haha...great minds think alike.
-
man a **** load of samplers and merch would be key at this event. 1000th show promo like a MOFO!!!!!!!!

-

-

-
this is unbelievable. truly. i will be in Philly that weekend for a work-related event. and a HUGE bike race is going on in philly that week, so the place should be PACKED! = GET HOTELS NOW IF NECESSARY.

Still June 12th??? That\'s a Monday :wtf2:. How does a bill like that play Monday night?
-
holy ****!! that is awesome for the band! too bad i won\'t be able to make it.
NICE WORK, keep \'em coming w/ the heady surprises
-
:yay: bravo
-
Can\'t wait! This is a great venue (not to mention opportunity). I do believe the date is June 9th not the 12th, though.
I should add that parking is terrible and beers are expensive, but the view is great and ticket prices are usually reasonable. Plus, seeing The Breakfast on a big stage is priceless!
-
AWESOME!!!!!!!!! hopefully a tim sit in with the boys or vice versa
might be making the trip down for this one...i\'d probably cream myself at some point in the night
-
WHAT!!! April 1st already past Steffmo, don\'t mess with us like that. I\'m all over a PA run for this!!!!!!

This is what needs to happen..... Unfucking real.... Awesome job getting this slot!!
