What the hell is the point of a tailbone anyway?
It is the leftover part of the tails we used to have. Pretty useless now!!
-
sorry to hear about the eye injury, Holly.
-
Yeah, when I stopped sleeping in my contacts my prescription has stayed the same, whereas when I WAS sleeping in them it would get higher every year. Having a stable scrip makes you more eligible for laser surgery.
-
Ive never had any issues yet, they\'re not the sleepable kind, but I do it anyway. Call me lazy, or it may be because I go to sleep watching tv and have ruined many pairs of glasses while a kid because of it. As for making them last longer, I\'m a cheap bastard and it saves me money :) I get chewed out every exam (usually by different doctors cos I go to the wal mart eye places, usually a different one everytime), they tell me its bad, I just dont listen, heh. The only reason I even go for exams is because state or federal law requires it once a year for contacts (something like that). Ive never been warned about the fungus issue though.
What do you mean by stabalize your prescription? That mean it won\'t get worse? Hell, what does it matter to me anyway, I\'m almost legally blind without them anyway, I wouldn\'t recognize if my vision got worse anyway, which apparantely it does every year, heh. I need to hit lotto and get Lasik
-
ant - I had contacts that were "sleepable" but my dr. said that my prescription would stabilize if I stopped sleeping in them so he gave me some that you CANNOT sleep in. It did stabilize my scrip but sometimes you find yourself passed out without your lens case... uh, I mean... yeah
Cori -that fungus thing is a big deal! I was warned about it numerous times at my last check up. as far as the tailbone thing... I feel for ya... it all depends on just how bruised it is. I got pretty banged up about 3 yrs ago and I still get tinges of pain once in a while. same with my fractured rib. I think bones hold grudges :(

Bruised mine trying out snowboarding once. (never tried again, I\'ll stick to two planks) Hurt like holy hell for about 3 weeks.
3 weeks!!! You\'re lucky. I hurt mine in Sept. doing a Denise Austin exercise video and it hurt for a month and then when I moved in November I hurt it again and that lasted 2.5 months until I went to physical therapy, which believe it or not actually helped. Now it is mostly better. I talked to someone who said it took a year to heal and someone else who fell when she was a kid and it still bothers her. What the hell is the point of a tailbone anyway?

That sux. I know someone that scratched his cornea by getting metal in his eye on two separate occasions and both times it healed really quickly with eye drops so hopefully your eye will heal fast too!
Hope they never need an MRI. Even a microscopic piece of metal in your eye can pierce your eyeball or even worse pierce your eyeball and brain in an MRI.
I\'ll have to tell him that. I had to get an MRI when I bruised my tailbone and they asked me like 5X if I had any metal in my body \'cause that can be really dangerous. Oh, and that is my complaint to add to the scratched cornea and lung problem. Has anyone ever bruised their tailbone and how long did it take to heal???

I have slept with my contacts in EVERY night, well basically every night, since I was 14 and have never had an issue. Ive been told its not good and all, but I still do it anyway. I also make 2 week disposables last 2-3 months. . .
Are you crazy?!! You can do major damage to your eyes that way. And it\'s been all over the news lately that there has been an increase in some rare eye fungus in contact lense wears and that your risk of getting it goes up if you a) sleep in your lenses, b) make them last longer than you should, and c) don\'t clean them properly. This fungus can cause cornea scarring and in some cases people even need cornea transplants. They think the increase in this infection may be connected to Baush & Lomb solution so don\'t use that brand!

That Sucks! I fell asleep with my contacts in once and when I took them out the next day my eyes hurt so bad I could hardly stand it! I went to the ER it was so bad... turned out I tore one cornea and scratched the other! I was on antibiotic drops and glasses for 2 MONTHS! It was aweful! We really take our eyes for granted sometimes.
Hope it doesn\'t go on that long for you!

your eye is supposed to be one of the quickest healing parts of your body, good to see it isn\'t effecting your .info performance ;)
my .info performance will never come down derick, you should know that by now...as long as i am stuck getting paid for being bored all day, i will be here and give 110% each and every day that i possibly can.

F\'N \'eh Holly, that sucks. Get better quick!

poor girl!
-
she put dye on my cornea. she also managed to like spill it on my face so now my **** cheek is yellow.
Was this an eye doctor??? If so, I\'d never go back to her, if she\'s that careless!!! Also, when it happened to me, all my eye doctor did was look at it through her magnifying thingy to make sure my cornea wasn\'t ripped to shreads.

Went and found the ointment my doctor gave me. Call your doctor and ask for Erythromycin Opthalmic ointment. That was the only thing that made my eyeball not feel like someone was sticking a knife in it. And...how the years fly by...that was back in 1998.
ooh thank you for letting me know todd!! damn 1998 was 8 years ago..wowsers.
-
Did the doctor give you any thing? I had a pricker scratch my cornea a few years ago. The doctor gave me an ointment similiar to neosporin and antibiotic eyedrops. If he/ she did not, go to another doctor!!! Good luck!!! Feel better!!
the doc actually only gave me drops. i\'m goign to see how i feel tomorrow because it\'s really painful/sensitive now. if it\'s still as bad, i\'ll go to another dr. because so far these drops have done nothing for me.

Once I got one of those little beads from face wash in my eye and it suuuucked, it scratched my eye so bad and I couldn\'t see out of it for like two days. Honestly, your eyes are the worst things to mess up. I hope it gets better soon!! :)
-
Ouch! I hope it heals quickly.
