i hope the europe dates are announced soon! World Cup>Breakfast!
-
Anyone want to trade a plane ticket to Europe for my large, shiny, red paper-clip?
-
Yeah, maybe it\'s time to start working (did I really just type that?) again!!
-
^^^ for real
-
Its time to start saving...
-
I have always wanted to go to europe :)
-
OK so you want to play down south but only in places that are receptive to what the Breakfast is doing. Does this mean you are looking to play super heady college towns like Athens, Clemson, Chapel Hill, Boone, and Asheville? Or are they going to try to play the big cities and try to compete with the wack ass dj dance club scene? I vote play the college towns. Also try to go on tour with a band that is big in North Carolina, like Barefoot Manner or Seepeoples.
-
I would still like to see a National Summer tour but am expecting nothing but weekend runs.
As far as festivals go, I don\'t see them getting on to any real "big" festivals and sticking to a lot of lesser known/smaller festivals.
-
I will be honest in that there will be some disappointments, perhaps unexpected in some of the festival stuff.....but I don\'t want to get into that right now. Suffice to say that as the band gets bigger you find out who your supporters are.
Curiousity is killing me. Are people/organizations shunning the band because they see it as a threat or because they don\'t think the band is ultimately headed anywhere?
Anyway....we plan a new CD, and some kind of DVD. We expect to cover the Midwest, maybe twice, and the parts of the south that relate to what the band does. We want to get into bigger venues, even though it means that band might have to open for some bands that you all think less worthy....it doesn\'t matter. Everyone has to do it and if we get in front of their crowd...we will steal their crowd. Its the best way to grow the band in a short time.
Good to hear! Hit the states again and serve up a hot new serving of Breakfast for people to pick up at the merch table. This is especially important for gigs as the opening band.
We want to send the band to Europe and are working on trying to get Real Radio out there.
Anyone have any friends in the military that can help with overseas grassroots? Europe is a tough nut to crack. I hope that you are looking at sharing expenses for shows there with another band or the promoter.
Remember, we are only a small part of the game. The promoters and venues have to say yes when we come calling.
Hopefully, within the next couple of years they will be coming to you.

i think everyoens judgement was a little impaired at the moment
-
thats not smart to disrespect the band whos hosting the whole thing.
seriously.im the biggest dickhead around and even iwouldnt have been involved in that.
-
on a sidenote,i can guarantee moe dosent wanna have a band come back that blew them off the stage last year and who caused the crowd to chant moe sucks

A Breakfast phenomenon known as "Camp Creek Complex." PB was never invited back to Camp Creek after 2001 for this reason. I don\'t think that moe. really thinks this way but it\'s funny to joke about.
-
too bad tho. moe down last year was prolly the funnest fest ever. especially with the utica show thursday too
-

"We want to get into bigger venues, even though it means that band might have to open for some bands that you all think less worthy...."
Pretty much just confirmed 70 Volt Parade/Breakfast summer tour!
-
I could go on and on about how many times I have seen openers that were better than the main act!!! And, on one occasion, the main act got booed off the stage!!! I have said it for 6+ years now, this is the way to go!!!
-
nothing better than going to a show to see some band that you like and then having the opener blow you away and totally upstage the main act!:awwyeah:
yea which is exactly what has happened every time I have seen the breakfast not be the last act to play
-
Yeah opening slots let them show how great they really are.
If you have heard them on a huge PA and w/ a nice set of lights you have seen what they are truly capable of.
It\'s pretty impressive.

I think this is a great idea....Hell, after he released **** Brew, Miles Davis was opening for Steve Miller Band!
Just get these guys gigs in bigger venues and they will blow people away. nothing better than going to a show to see some band that you like and then having the opener blow you away and totally upstage the main act!:awwyeah:
-
So when is the beardslee show? Thats a big venue...
-
I knew we should not have chanted moe. sucks heh
It was fuckin\' hilarious though.

We expect to keep moving right throught the summer. I will be honest in that there will be some disappointments, perhaps unexpected in some of the festival stuff.....but I don\'t want to get into that right now. Suffice to say that as the band gets bigger you find out who your supporters are.

We want to send the band to Europe and are working on trying to get Real Radio out there. That would be the first move in making that happen.
But we don\'t plan on letting up at all. Its really just starting to get good.
By the way....this is what we WANT to do. I don\'t mind sharing this with friends that support the band. Just remember that things don\'t always go quite the way you thought. So don\'t send me pissed of IMs if something we all wanted doesn\'t turn out the way you thought. Remember, we are only a small part of the game. The promoters and venues have to say yes when we come calling.
Now this is the type of mindset I am all about. Rock on. Play where they can just keep them playing!

SWEET! I am glad the band finally realizes this. Swallow that pride and do whatever it takes to get the music to the people. Leech off anyones fan base that you can.
. I will be honest in that there will be some disappointments, perhaps unexpected in some of the festival stuff....
no moe down or 10k lakes? :(
-
nice! finding time and recording the new tunes would be great. though Real Radio should be put in the hands of thoes that dont have it first.
So dont start the European tour anticipation thread just yet? ;)

It all depends on if they keep playing.
Their playing is markedly improved when they play lots of shows consecutively. Recent case in point this weekend and the past tour.
Running fests only w/ few shows lined up in a row will result in a cool off.
Maybe.
-
The bands obviously hot as ever right now.
So now what?
Are they gonna keep building steam up to and all thru summer or cool off?
