but i did see her in the first set near the front left-side.
that would be chuck.side. learn it, know it.
Igz was right up there the whole show, which is surprising for such a wanderer... :)
wish we coulda hung out longer gordo...next chi-town adventure for me is 3/10 UM at the Chicago Theater.
As far as bisco goes...I\'m trying to appreciate new-to-me music. That was my 6th time seeing them...I enjoy the way they play individually, they were great to watch, I just think that they need to get it all together like they used to play, and hopefully they will on their upcoming tour.
As far as moe. goes...they\'re alright ;) I\'d go see them again. (my 100th show is coming up in the next couple months...yea baby!!)
-
i thought it was fun, but i\'ve seen plenty better. kinda fitting for a pre tour opening gig though.
i enjoyed the magner sit in, i found what he laid down fit the style of the song well and added a little flair to it.
-
howd you like tDB set?
sidenote-- wasnt a fan of Magner\'s sit-in with moe., seemed like he had a hard time promoting a groove and just threw a bunch of weird half-step runs all over the keys.
-
definitely didnt know you were gonna be there. i wouldve brought my phone to the show. i got jenny\'s message at about 3 when i got home. my buddies and i actually headed out near the end of the 2nd set (we all had a loooooong thursday night and needed some food>home) but i did see her in the first set near the front left-side. ran into her friend tammy too in the beer line. but ****, i wouldve made it a point to chill at least for a little while. i guess next time i should post and see who\'s going BEFORE the show.
i really wasn\'t planning on going until that wednesday. if you saw her on the rail, then i was surely nearby. i had a long wednesday night at richter\'s into a long drive to urbana into a long night on thursday into a long night on friday in chicago followed by a long night on saturday in st. louis. thank god i finally got some food > home on sunday.

sorry i didn\'t see ya, gordo. jenny was trying to find you for me after the show but we must\'ve just missed ya. either way, glad you had fun. i\'ve seen plane crash as much as anyone, but i loved the fact that they opened the show following tDB w/ that, and then followed up shortly after w/ an Okayalright, typical moe. fashion.
-
the Aragon show was great.. i was more excited to see The Disco Biscuits who tore it up. extremely happy with their new drummer, guy brought tons of energy to the table. as for moe., it was good as always. there are a lot of moments where they spin my head and their jams take off, and there are plenty of moments where they lose my attention. i like the balance personally cuz i always feel like im at a big party where i can talk to someone for awhile and quickly cut them off if a jam starts building. schnier and chuck can both rip and i definitely like a lot of their songs. no complaints, even though im pretty sure ive heard plane crash at every moe. show ive ever been to, which is something like 8 or 9.

Igzi how the hell do you afford to go on moe. ter? Just curious...
I am just guessing here but it is called a job.
Yeah, um.... ok.........
Got the new Relix in the mail today (my dad has a free subscription?). I enjoyed Al\'s column about his own personal americana, that and the picture of his family was really cute....
-
I can\'t wait to hear the paranoid. Didn\'t care for als vocals on karma at moe.down, but any radiohead is alright in my book. Other than radiohead, I\'ve never seen anyone play paranoid live but I always thought jambands should, it\'s such a great jam song.
I think the Duo have covered it as well. (its on their audio links page). But for my money, the coolest cover version of Paranoid Android is by jazz pianist Brad Mehldau on his trio album Largo. He also covers Exit Music for a Film and a few more. (I could email a .wma of it if you\'re interested.)
I personally would like to cover Subterranean Homesick Alien!
Greg
(sorry to ressurect this thread, just got caught up)

Kyle\'s Song is the one you\'re thinking of.
:that:
great driving bass line on that tune

Kyle\'s Song is the one you\'re thinking of.
and Headseed is where its at for moe. albums. Mexico, Timmy Tucker, Recreational Chemistry, Yodelittle, Brent Black and Time Ed all on the same album = hot ****.

^^comparitively speaking not a fan of TC&CT a few good tracks (Nebraska good fuckin tune) but as far as MOE goes I\'m a No Doy man myself
Heard good things about "Wormwood", but I don\'t know anything about it.
I played Wormwood in the van once and did not hear any good feedback. I on the other hand, really like it, esp one of the last tracks (something about a friend getting hit by a car or something (one of the MOErons help me out here))
-
Best studio jamband. period.
I checked out \'Tin Cans and Car Tires\', though I didn\'t really like it. Are there any other acclaimed albums that should be given consideration?
i actually like TC&CT a LOT..

ehh, i just do, sorta. if there\'s a will, there\'s a way. i\'m sure i\'ve spent more money on moe. than i\'ve earned working in the past few years, not so sure how it works out, but it just does.
-
moe. is pretty good live but I feel they lack the WHOLE show intensity as I witnessed with the breakfast. They have some really killer songs, but there seems to be a few lulls in their shows---DISCLAIMER: This is only my opinion and not to be used in court

Igzy, Glad to see that you are alive and well. How was the moe. run? The 2nd night looks hot. I know nothing about moe., so indulge me on the highlights of the weekend.

I love moe. but when they play Radio Head it SUCKS!!!
I\'ve seen them do Karma Police, and all emotion is lost when Al Schneir sings.

I\'m checking out the Syracuse show as we speak, you were right on in the first set as for HIGHlights(although I really like the new song). "Happy Hour Hero" was alright, the Frampton-esque solo was cool(but I am a sucker for that sound). The transition to "Mexico" took a lil while to get going but got very interesting when they sped up the tempo. I\'ll update as it flows, "Yodelittle" being my favorite moe. song by far.
"->Mexico" was very good and they played the song well, the realy jelly was the jam after the lyrics, great stuff. The "Yodelittle" was solid and was pulled towards an outro just in time around the 14 minute mark. It seemed that they had brought it out as far as it was going to go without getting forced. Rob was poppin those bass notes as the band shifted gears. Stupendous segue into "McBain", with great keys work in the intro. Place must have been going nuts by the end of this, such a great dynamic flow to this set so far.
The way they ended "McBain", is there a reprisal normally? If not I wouldn\'t really call that a segue, they clearly stoppped before the drop into "Down Boy". Anyway, top-notch version of this song. The transition out of it was a good idea, but I feel it doesn\'t really translate onto disc that well. I am sure with the repetitive riffs where the song would normally end built anticipation at the show, but they went a few too many times with it. Once it spaced out and slowed though, they segued into "Rebubula" PERFECTLY! Perfect call as far as song selection for the closer. Some of the better moe. I\'ve heard in a long time, and I am only at the 7 minute mark of "Rebubula".

Any word on who is playing snoe.down with moe.?
-
some freak who follows me everywhere. if you can take her away, please do. she scares the **** outta me.
-
Btw.......who\'s The Hottie With You In Your Avatar?
-
i thought the boston show was decent, BB was a great opener. alittle radiohead never hurts either.
yeah, the boston show was by far the weakest of the 5 nights. something about that city, plus it being the tour opener, they were a li\'l bit sloppy, but they got all the kinks worked out that night, and came out firing on all cylinders in Philly.
As Much As I Love Moe. And As Hot As They Are Right Now, There Was No Way I Was Going To Miss Daniel St. The Show In Philly Looked Awesome....but I\'m Certain I Made The Right Decision. Glad Jenny Had Fun. Hold On To That Girl.....she\'s A Keeper!
yeah, Daniel Street looked badass, but whatta ya gonna do. Thats now the 3rd time I\'ve missed an epic breakfast show cuz of moe., first 6/10/05, then Puppethouse, and now Daniel Street. Oh well, I have 0 regrets in my decision making. As far as the other thing, she\'s gonna have to break my arms and legs for me to not hold on, and even then, I still got my teeth.
hey Igziabeher, glad you had a good time. You going up to snow.down? We should meet up if so. I can\'t wait to hear the paranoid. Didn\'t care for als vocals on karma at moe.down, but any radiohead is alright in my book. Other than radiohead, I\'ve never seen anyone play paranoid live but I always thought jambands should, it\'s such a great jam song. Some of those sets look like monsters. Moe grows on me more each time I see them.
I\'m not too big a radiohead fan, but it sounded good to me. Al\'s vocals are Al\'s vocals, so you either love it or hate it. Snoe.down is gonna be a ball, we\'ll def have to get together at some point. I know a few other .infoers may be going as well(duane of course, moebass maybe, antbach possibly, some others hopefully).
-
i think gov\'t mule plays it sometimes

Hey man, I just noticed your quote at the bottom--Bearsong is one of my favorite moe. tunes--It blew me away last year at the Thanksgiving Roseland show. When I saw the Breakfast the other night at Daniel st, I started thinking the next day that their entire show was like the begining of Akimbo, mixed with alittle Bearsong, and garnished with traces of an Izabella, an Axilla, a Crosseyed and Painless, and a BIg Black Furry Creatures. Glad you had fun--PJ

Good to hear Igz...I was really wishing I was into moe. more when I saw this run...A run like that ending with my BDAY in Buffalo would\'ve been killer. Although Daniel St. was INTENSE!
-

After 2005 being such a great year, I knew we were in store for some madness in \'06, and moe. came out swinging. All the emboldened songs were the highlights of each individual show. Buffalo and Saturday night Philly being my two favorites of the run. If you get a chance to catch them later on on this tour, or at the snoe.down, don\'t pass it up, they are playing like a band possessed. The Philadelphia Timmy Tucker may be the best song I\'ve ever seen played live by any band, it was an absolute monster. Thanks for all you being so hospitable to Jenny at Richter\'s and the afterparty on Wednesday. She now understands the amazingness that is Timm Tour, and just might fly out to do a real Breakfast run sometime between March and May. She is officially SER.
