Although I still have the tanks set up with plants, I sold all of my frogs... the flys are easy to breed, but they are nearly impossible to completely contain. I got sick of seeing them all over my snake room, and as time went on, all these flys attracted a ton of spiders... I hate spiders.
something about this cracks me up.

though those things a pretty sweet looking, I still prefer my pets with fur on them ;) mostly anything with fur I\'d consider owning, \'cept horses, they frighten me, sorry joc

Yellow-orange. It is not completely full-grown yet and I am told that he will get more colorful as he ages. He is already quite beautiful. I did know that it is the most toxic of the dart frogs... and I was filled in on the fact that they don\'t produce their poison in captivity due to diet. But thanks for giving me the full name... I hate not knowing much about my animals.
I have been able to keep the fruit flies pretty much contained with some good ole saran wrap. Not the most attractive thing in the world, but, prety effective.
I just got another frog actually as well which is a dart-frog imitator of some sort. The most colorful imitator I\'ve ever seen too. Orange legs which fade into green, big turquoise blotches by his head, and a green stripe on each side of his head. Pretty cool.. if I was a predator I wouldn\'t eat him, that\'s for sure.
Your tanks are beautiful by the way. Mine are coming along but still are not quite where I want them.

Phyllobates terribilis... do you have the yellow-orange or mint-green ones? FYI, these are so named because, in nature, they are the most toxic of all the poison dart frog species... most are not toxic enough to kill a human, but the terribilis are... indians will rub their spear heads and blowgun darts on the skin of these frogs to make them toxic... hence the name poison dart frog.
Fortunately, it is a chemical compound in the wild diet (ants perhaps) that their body uses to make the poison... when you feed them a captive diet of crickets and flys, they are completely non-toxic.

Derick, depending on the species, you can keep a sexed pair in a 20gal tank. If you don\'t have a male & female, like sexes will fight... especially the females. As far as how much work they are, I would say the biggest pain is breeding the flies you have to feed them... it\'s not difficult, but it is kinda nasty. Other than that, all you really have to do is throw some flies or pinhead (baby) crickets in there 4 or 5 times a week and trim back the plants when they start to look overgrown.

those frogs and their tanks are damn cool and am glad it wasnt a PM! that first photo is really crisp too. those babies are nice..
Marcial\'s got the sweet setups. You are a damn happy animal if you wind up in one of his tanks.

Hmm, well, I don\'t know how to spell the name. But it sounds like terrible. Teriblus? Something like that.
This is my first attempt with an amphibian. Pretty cool how you can make the tank so close to self-containing. I had a little disaster with the fruit flies initially (they ended up everywhere) but now that I have figured that out, it\'s so easy. When I give him pinheads it\'s so damn cute to watch him get them too. He is freaking adorable.

damn, those are pretty cool looking, I wasnt aware frogs can be so colorful

I was thinking of getting a frog, how much work are they. what, 2 per 20gallon tank. Awesome setup on the tank in the last picture
