****, i totally forgot about that part of Psygn at Jim Thorpe. cant wait for this show to be up in a few days.
-
wow, i have heard on disc, eppyIII. lots of potential. but Psygn(minus the spelling) is a monster already. the one from Jim Thorpe might be the best i have seen the Breakfast play, period.
aaaaaaaaabsolutely amazing. what most of you do not know is there was a percussionist that sat in with the breakfast, named brian. adrian said he had some of nicest percussion instruments you can find. anyways, during the psygn jam, it got so crazy that adrian actually got up from his drum set and walked across the stage to the percussison set and finished the jam there. . talk about improvisation. unbelievable folks
but i think episode 3 has extreme potential to be the best breakfast song
-
Epi 3 is a repetative jam turned into Blues....whats so exciting about that?
it SOUNDS great. remember-- state your opinion, dont get all cocky about it and try to cut down mine. i would rather hear episode III, you would rather hear Psygn. id be very happy with both.

im choosing psygn. the NH version from last week has completely blown me away, and im not at the jam section yet. epic.
-
i dont understand all the hyp about psygn. maybe I need to listen to some other versions...but to me its cool but nothing amazing....kinda soft.
Listen to the Psygn from the Mill Street Brews show....
Psygn, for me, is all about the sick jams that are born from the tune....
-
Well I just voted for Awakening based on the supurb version on 11/18. As with all great guitarists, Tim figured out VERY quickly how to polish a gem of a song. The song\'s transition from Prog craziness to the most soulful blues is now smooth and clean as can be.
Psygn is a great tune but I find until the JAM I am merely wading along in the song. once the JAM hits well that is another story. Overall though the more complete song for me is Awakening.

Actually it was the Night I met Gencarelli for the first time.
heh, love at first sight?
I caught my first whiff of Gencs back in 2000 on the old YahooGroups PB fans email thang. He used talk at lengths about Newcastle.
First time I saw him was at Callahan\'s doing the signature Gencs move of twisting around while rubbing his belly with one hand and holding his beer up on his head with the other.
By the way, I haven\'t kept up to date on the Breakfast downloads and can\'t comment or vote on Ep. 3 vs. Psygn.

I know I first heard of this 3rd episode at Freddie\'s place at least 3-4 years ago, from TPalms. Actually it was the Night I met Gencarelli for the first time.

Peck, I have a Naked Society disk from 1998 with a Beef Barley tease, and it hadn\'t been officially written yet.
Are there other Magic, Mokijam, Naked Society recordings that indicate some of the current Breakfast songs were in development?
Since Ep. 2 debuted in 1999, the idea of another installment of the Episodes series must have crossed Tim\'s mind (in the least), if it wasn\'t already in the preliminary stages of composition.
Wake Up In A Coma is technically a Mokijam tune, I\'m positive there are others but I can\'t think of em right now
-
i was just repeating exactly what time said.. whether or not he was speaking on behalf of the idea itself for the 3rd episode, i dont know.. bottom line is the song rocks. 7 years seems long, true, but "more like 7 months though" bryan??? whats your point dude? i know you like Psygn but please.
-
We all know when Ep. 3 debuted, though I\'m curious to know when it was composed/how long it has been in the pipeline?
after the tonic room i told tim how great i thought the song was. he was real happy to hear it and said its been in the works for "like 7 years." he said the hype for this song has been like nothing else.
7 years? are you SER? I would say more like 7 months
about 4.5 years. i can tell you that at least the lyrics were first drafted in March 2001.

Kind of makes you wonder what else they may have up their sleeves.

Now that, my friend, is good comedy. Here, Here!!!
-
I think that psygn has been played alot more than eppy 3. So therefore I have no comment on the better of the two.
But I did hear the origanal eppy 3 at Richters, but this is not going to be my deciding factor....
-
vera st. should definitely not be on the same plane as Psygn..
as far as the poll goes, im voting eppy 3 because i heard them both for the first time in the same show and was floored by #3 start to finish. psygn i swayed with and it had to grow on me.. the jam outta Psygn felt like it couldve come from a number of songs... dont get me wrong, still absolutely sick and i like the laid back beatles style structure to begin, but lets say adrian stood up on stage, pointed to me and asked "hey Gordo, Psygn or Awakening... which one?" no fuckin\' question, an immediate "ARE YOU SER?" response (and i never use the term) with a fat peace sign plus 1 finger in the air. bring it!

psygn is a space jam vehicle, like that. eppy 3 is progressive crazyness, like that.
i dunno?
-
Trust me, the bustout of Ep 3 was one of my most memorable moments in PB/tB lore, but just cause they played it doesn\'t make it one of the best songs they play. Christ, at this rate it will be the best song ever written by February;) I am just saying that these new songs are some of the best they have written(all of them) and they will continue to grow as they get played...I think the BFam has caught the "Best Ever" fever that runs rampant on other "jam"-oriented msg boards;)
-
how you gonna put psygn on the same plane as vera street. based on the versions i\'ve heard, the philly psygn owned the one eppy 3 i heard, so thats all there is to that. plus i feel psygn has a more emotional value that mooboo\'s has, just cuz a number is stuck on the end, doesn\'t mean its the best thing since sliced bread.
do i know you???
eppie2=not emotional????
ser????
pt moe------->thaddaway
obviously you completely misinterpretted me. i\'m saying psygn is a more emotional breakfast tune, a la mooboo\'s. eppy 3 is a sick jam, but the lyrics don\'t hit you the way mooboo\'s does. capiche?
-
no prob, what\'s with the full name call out? :wtf2:
-
We aren\'t comparing anything to Eppy 2. Psygn is better than Ep 3 right now, hands down!!! Just casue it is an episode or it will be epic in time doesn\'t take away the sickness Psygn has reached in such a short time...maybe when I hear the MW Ep 3\'s I will change my tune, but for now Psygn is more polished and has intense jams...you do the math.
-
I\'m going w/ Wah here there\'s def alot of emotion in Eppy II. Some of the most emotional heartfelt jams I\'ve heard in EpII, the kinds thing that just give you goosebumps all up your arms, I\'ve literaly had this happen during a Mooboo\'s
thanks christian...

Are you ser? Eppie III
-
havent heard eppy 3 but pysgn was pretty rocking live at beardslee
-
Are you ser? Eppie III
-
yeah, i\'ve only heard one version of ep.3 and the beardslee version of psygn blows that away..........................won\'t be a fair vote unless i hear more ep.3
-
To be fair I won\'t vote until after a few more live listens, but I\'m thinking Ep3.
-
the eppie 3 at minneapolis was awesome too. obiviously psygn has an amazing way out there jam, but eppie 3 is a crazy composition. it\'s amazing
-
Gotta agree w/ Klout here I like Psygn but come on eEppy III!!
-
i dont understand all the hyp about psygn. maybe I need to listen to some other versions...but to me its cool but nothing amazing....kinda soft.

Let me know what you think.....take a listen to both of them from 10/29/05 and then place your vote. They have both been getting better so if you have a more recent version you should listen to them....I\'ve heard that the Midwest shows will be up at the earliest tomorrow
