I used to jam at the Acton Jazz Cafe all the time when I was in high school. For such a hotshot, he gets the same gigs I did when I was 17.
Well I think he could probably play with any number of people but he\'s teaching and therefore can\'t do real touring. I get the sense he is just playing there just for the sake of playing. For the same reason Bergonzi plays there with those jokers Gertz and Kaufmann.
Blackie, that\'s funny you should say that because I was talking to someone last night who used to take lessons from him and he said that he was an EXTREMELY nice guy. But not a very good teacher.
It\'s interesting how people can be so talented at doing something but they can\'t teach worth a lick. I see that all the time with horseback riding; just because you can do something doesn\'t mean you can effectively portray HOW to do it.
By the way, I think I am going to see the Breakfast tonight, not Kenwood Dennard.

very intimidating resume. my friends who go to Berklee say hes the biggest **** on the planet, but regardless a phenominal drummer. The guy was in a Jaco Pastorius bass guitar playing video that came out in the late 70s where him, John Scofield, and Jaco jammed on the chicken for about 20 minutes at the end. I\'d never heard of him before I saw the video but i figured a guy gots to have some serious chops to be playin with Jaco and Sco.

Are you guys **** serious?
If so then I\'m going to have to pull a Joe and say you don\'t appreciate good music.
That list is a serious who\'s who.
