Treygoose was insane. Still in Vegas for tonight\'s Panic show. Nxt year will be even better. Great booths, set-up was dope and all the acts got plenty of time. I will post again from home. Peace and Hugs ya\'ll!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah wtf? has been phil,smelly cheese incident, gay anastasio, whitebread spamic, Dave Matchews and friends some alright hip hop and a bunch of sweating hippies? yeah you talked me out of it. I\'ll sell my tix on ebay and use the $$ to go on midwest Bfast tour.
Actually I gotta go and try and get rid of tix for my buddy who is now unable to go so I may as well try and have a good time while I\'m there.

Vegoose! I leave tomorrow for an early start. Leith, I\'ve pulled the opposite and picked up the SCI Saturday night show leaving the others astray. You\'ll have to let me know how the other late nights work out.
Yeah I can see it being a bit much to fly out and all. I just live so close and absolutely love Las Vegas combined with the Jam scene. Ever since GD in \'91, Vegas and jam music just seem made for each other.
Agreed, Hippies straggling throughout the streets of Vegas is nothing to miss. I\'ve been there for Phish a few times and Cheese a few others. Just the site of watching dreads toss their final 20 bucks on red and winning enough to pick up a ticket for that nights show puts a smile to your face.

The Merry Pranksters: Still Rolling Further at 40
Its been 40-years since Ken Kesey and The Merry Pranksters turned Timothy Leary\'s famed slogan, ?tune in, turn on, drop out,? into a form of art. And, on Halloween, the Pranksters will celebrate the 40th anniversary of the first acid test with a multi-media party at Las Vegas? The Beach. In addition to the Furthur Bus & The Merry Band of Pranksters, a number of well known entertainers will be on hand including The Mutaytor Bassnectar with special guest Michael Kang, The New Riders of the Purple Sage, Mikio DJ Haj, Spunn Trusty, Flow Motion and the Everyone Orchestra. While many in attendance will no doubt be providing their own visuals, Optical Delusion and Smoke & Mirrors will enhance the evening?s experience. The event will run from 6 pm until dawn, beginning with a seminar discussing the impacts of the Merry Prankster Acid Tests on art and culture. Among the other attractions fans should expect: Snakedancers, Stage Magicians, Circus Acts and more.

Jeff, I have been saying since Surrender to the Air, that Trey has the ability to be one of the most prolific and innovative musicians we have ever seen. I believe his talent and inherent genius has been shown in only the smallest bits. Wait until he decides to hole up in studios!!

I know alot of people that were fairly selfish in their bagging on Trey for calling it quits w/ Phish. Personally I can never hold anything this man does related to music against him as he has given me some of the most beautiful music I have ever heard. I would rather a musician follow his muse and be happy than to play to a crowd and be unhappy.

I realize that Phish will never be Phish again, no matter what.
I want to see Trey be successful in whatever direction he does in. Personally, there is a little piece of me that wants to see him conduct an Orchestra and bring Gamehenge alive. When it is all done and said, I think Trey will prove to be one of the best musicial genius of our time. (my time)

I\'ve been thinking about the Trey thing a lot. I felt like I was a little too harsh because of the post Phish stuff. I have this feeling that he is in transition right now. He is working to find what he is looking for. I always remember that Bob Dylan was booed off the stage when he first switched from acoustic to electric and look at what he has done.

Yeah I am more interested in checking out some of Andrea\'s show. She just got done running Eminem so I want to see the difference in her work. Beck is a good show though.
Yeah Trey plays a mean guitar no matter what. To me he has yet to do wrong.

Yep it\'s all abt music. I actually missed out on Beck for Vegoose but my friend\'s girlfriend Andrea got the gig so I am VIP bound fo\' sure!
The ez answer would be PHIL but really I want to see Trey. I miss him.
Arcade Fire and Atmosphere are 2 acts I have not seen but really like but Trey is the main draw for me.

a part of me really wishes i could join you for this, while another part of me doesn\'t care for the big corporate aspect of it. in any event, hope you have an awesome time and i\'ll look forward to the big review.
Ya know I actually WELCOME the big corporations. After all the years of banging our heads against the walls of mainstream music it is nice to see some interest in the genre of Rock I/We enjoy. It can only lead to more exposure for all the bands I currently enjoy. I do not mind paying good $$ for fests that are going to give me my $$ worth. Yeah some may see them as taking advantage of an area not catered to as yet but isn\'t that what a good business does? I will not go to a fest if the music is not worth it. Some go to fests to party and catch some music, I go ONLY for music. Having friends around to share it with is cool but I can go solo no problem.
I fight daily against corporations either by joining email campaigns or boycotting certain stores and companies. The only one I really get upset @ in the music scene other than The Record Companies as a whole is Clear Channel and despite rumors to the contrary, Superfly and A.C Entertainment are not owned by CC.

I have had one hell of a good year for music w/ Baja Bash, Xingolati,moe.down, Puppethouse and now Vegoose along w/ the numerous local shows I have seen.
I guess taking a job as a freelance LD for the largest Lighting Co. in the World (PRG) was a good choice. :)

Yeah I will I\'m glad they moved the moe. show so now I have latenites all 3 nights there. On top of the 2 SD shows b4 Vegoose I\'m gettin\' lots of moe. :)

Just got my Trey latenite, mailordering Phil show today, now I just need moe. on Sat. thank goodness I like SCI but I\'ll get enough @ the fest. I was for sure doing Panic for halloween but rumor of an Oysterhead sighting is keeping me from jumping on WSP just yet!

Well some Late nite shows have been announced and it looks like I got a moe. show on friday, Cheese on Sat. The jam scene certainly is supporting more and more mega-cost, elitist affairs that involve tons of money and huge corporate organizers. The whole deal is no secret anymore, that\'s for sure. We\'re still at a good point in terms of being able to see individual bands for reasonable costs, but there are more and more signs every day that things are headed in a bad direction.
Thank god most of the bands still aren\'t that popular. Imagine if most people actually liked jambands...$35 bucks a whack to see Brothers Past at Worcester Centrum, or $50-$100 face value on seats to see MMW at the FleetCenter. But you cannot actually get face value tickets because they sold out in 4 minutes and you didn\'t get through, so you pay stubhub $80 a whack for 400 level. Could it ever happen?
As far as Vegoose goes, it\'s definitely a cool concept. I would go if I were loaded.

It is going to be a fest to remember. ALO and UM just got added along w/The Arcade Fire. Wishin\' The Breakfast would play but I guess Freakout tradition will take precedence.
