so did everyone sleep in and cal outta work today cause of this game dause there\'s certainly no one online
-
Great clock management by Seattle at the end of the first half
-
personally I watched the "Monk" marathon on USA (I don\'t watch football)
-
im pissed that i missed the puppy bowl. i forgot all about it. i\'m sure it was 100 x better than the actual superbowl. but im done with bitching about how sh*tty of a game it was.
-
Tyson watched the Puppy Bowl yesterday..
-
Snoozer Bowl \'06. Screw football, did anyone watch the Puppy Bowl on Animal Planet?
I was flipping between the two.
Seattle almost made me change my mind about the game but I am sticking with, "I was not entertained and personally could care less about the two teams." It is nice that Bettis will end his career with a storybook scenario.

Went to the grocery store for the 2nd quarter. It was so nice to shop in an empty store. Got back saw the Stones play a decent set and now it seems this game is going to be worth watching. Oh yeah Pittsburgh feeds off momentum. W/ that missed FG by Seattle watch out!
Pittsburgh is finally going to match the Niners w/ 5 wins in the SB. Damn!
Nice interception. Did anyone see the poor big guy that pulled something having to run all that way blocking? Oof!
-
this game is sucking right now, not really that entertaining. I feel like it is one of those 4 o\'clock games that you really aren\'t sure why the game is being shown in your area. I\'m sure if you are a fan of one of these teams then if might be exciting. Well, I don\'t think some of the folks in Seattle and that area are enjoying it, since power has yet to be restored to many homes.
-
rooting for pittsburgh is like rooting for detroit. lets go detroit!!
-
Steelers 27, Seahawks 17
MVP: Willie Parker
-
The spread: Steelers -4
I figured it would be around Steelers -2 or maybe even a pick\'em.
Mike & the Mad Dog just said they thought it would be around Steelers -6.
So who knows?
I know I picked Seattle to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl back in September and am sticking to my prediction that they will lose in the big game (although my predicted winner-Kansas City-is nowhere to be found).
-
Super Bowl XL=easy pickings for Pittsburgh
I love how the AFC\'s #6 seed is favored over the NFC\'s #1 seed. Talk about an imbalance in the conferences!

lol Yeah ok i have never been in an accident and my last ticket was over 15 yrs ago.
Sound intense or wreckless I think not.
As for this thread who cares the season is over well one more game to go but....
-
Ok how about this. You suck @ parallel parking.
Actually, I\'m good at parallel parking, I\'m just obsessive/compulsive and won\'t feel comfortable in a spot till I adjust the car a few times and get the perfect park, annoying the passengers in the process. By the way, I hear from my source that you are an intense/wreckless driver.
Oops, was this the NFL thread?

"championship sunday" = yawn.
Seriously. So lame. And The Breakfast doesn\'t have a single fan in either Pittsburgh or Seattle to get on here and get fired up for the SUper Bowl.
.
I believe there is a fan in each city, Dan K registered in Erie, PA and someone from Seattle, though I have no idea what his/her name is.
Doubt either of them will be online to talk **** this week.
The guys I hung out with in Huntington Beach last weekend are lifelong Socal dudes and also lifelong Steelers fans. It was weird eating Breakfast in a bar/restaurant with such avid Steelers fans last Sunday morning.

Way to go Mike Holmgren and the Seattle Seahawks. I have to admit as a Niner fan I am not a big Seattle fan but I have to give kudos to Mike H. This guy is a genius w/ quarterbacks. I never really thought he would be able to pull it off but w/ the huge decline in the NFC West of late, his and the Seahawks time has arrived.
This Super Bowl is really going to be fun to watch.
Oh and congrats to the Steelers. **** DENVER!!
-
yeah, who here has ever actually been on top of a 747? i have danced naked on top of a bus before.
-
yesterday, Mike & The Mad Dog had on Colts President Bill Polian, and it was one of the funniest/best/worst interviews i\'ve ever heard.. he ended up hanging up on them, after agreeing with Manning (O-line blew the game), and not answering ANY of the tough questions he was being asked..
there\'s a sound clip on wfan.com of it. i\'m not sure how much of it, or what part it is (can\'t check at work), but definitely check it out:
http://wfan.com/chrismikeaudio/local_audioclip_018175504.html
post-interview, mad dog said something along the lines of "jeez, the other day Peyton throws the offensive line under the bus, Polian comes on here and basically throws them under a 747!"
under a 747... wouldn\'t that be in the air? :hscratch:
-
wolfman, you should have been in that NFL network commercial.
jets have a new coach. mangini. friend already has a nickname for him. i\'ll pass on posting it...
and the steelers are going to the superbowl. even though i was passed out for most of the 2nd and 3rd quarters that was the most entertaining football game i\'ve seen since the jets/steelers playoff game last year.
go steelers.
-
As I accurately predicted in the first post in this thread, the Minnesota/Philly NFC Championship game next weekend should be a barn-burner...
Too bad the Pats finally lost a playoff game. But don\'t worry folks...the Pats will not win fewer than 10 games in a season until Belichick retires, and that\'s not for another 15 years. Good luck with your "I-wish-we-had-what-the-Patriots-have" franchise of your choice.
This week: Steelers over Broncos 17-13. Seahawks over Panthers 13-10.
Super Bowl XL: Steelers over Seahawks 21-15.
-
some very interesting turns and twists in the playoffs so far.
-
wow.. i mean, not even CLOSE!! holy ****...
what a game..
-
Holy ****!!!!!!!! Wide Right!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
manning almost INT\'d on 3rd down!!
long FG coming up..
-
This game is just outta control.
-
well this game just got more exciting.. 21-18, 4 minutes to go..
i do NOT agree with the overturn on the Polamalu interception.. thought it was quite clear he caught the ball, but i\'m glad the play went the way it did as it made the game more exciting, and i don\'t have a dog in this race..
but someone explain to me what happened with 11 minutes left in the 4th.. 4th and an inch, steelers go for it.. they go to the line, and half the indy defense comes across, pointing at a pittsburgh lineman, then the entire steeler line stands up, but there is never a flag or a whistle.. ref comes out and says there\'s no penalty, replay the down.. what? how is that possible? how do both teams go and line up for a play, and NOTHING happens?!? there\'s gotta be either a play or a penalty... right??
weird..
manning sacked at the 10.. under 2:00 to play...
all-out blitz, manning down at the 2, game over...
wow.
bettis fumbles, indy ball... WHAT?!?!?
colts in FG range... holy ****...
-
pats are gone, rothlisberger is on fire, and peyton is looking like eli.. what in the world is going on here?!?
-
Watch out for the Redskins Defence......Don\'t count them out
While watching the Redskins/Bucs game I turned and to my buddy and said: "Every year two or three of the wild-card playoff games feature two teams that have absolutely no chance. I mean, it\'s nice that they made the playoffs, but really, these teams just waste our time for a week and then get fed to the lions the next week. This is one of those games."
Seahawks 31, Skins 10.

OOF
Carolina 23, Giants 0.
Hey Klout and Treychica, see what happens when you start gay threads about your team? I hold you two personally responsible.
-
Good luck today to the New York Football Giants!
In a perverted kinda way I started liking the Giants this year, just like I kinda started liking the Mets when I lived in New York. The Giants are fun. They played a bunch of zany games this year that were fun to watch. The Breakfast crew digs \'em. Picking up Eli off waivers in week 6 saved my fantasy team. Let\'s do it G-Men! Super Bowl XL against the Pats!
(https://thebreakfast.info/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fespn-att.starwave.com%2Fmedia%2Fnfl%2F2005%2F1029%2Fphoto%2Fw_eli_372.jpg&hash=362289f626a4bea0df8727a1729b6e387b76d2e6) I like this picture.
Oh yeah, Pats win. Business as usual. See you next week.

yea it was the nfl films version of last saturdays. Its on again at midnight. It was sick. Had to see that preformance again. Deffinitly the best I have ever seen by a running back. The KC defense had not let up a 100 yard rushing preformance in 20 games! and tiki took them 220 something! fuckin amazing!

question is, do they keep Mr. Brees and trade away Mr. Rivers, or trade away Mr. Brees to say. . . the \'phins (where he should have been originally). . .
They\'re keeping Brees. Philip may be on the way out if they can get a good deal otherwise he sits and waits.
problem is Rivers makes way too much money to sit the bench. if they could find a buyer for him it makes sense to get rid of him. no need to have that much cap invested in a backup QB; it\'s not like Brees is old and Rivers is in the position to develop as his replacement ala Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay. Plus, if memory serves me correct, Brees signed a one year \'franchise\' contract, doesn\'t that mean he is a free agent at the end of the year (I could never understand the whole franchise tagging thing in football). And if not, they\'re gonna need to pay him well to keep him in southern cali.
Oh yeah. The Chargers are gonna have to pay Drew what he deserves. Thing is the Spanos don\'t mind wasting $$ it seems so they will play hardball and wait for a deal on Rivers. Believe it. Drew will be the Charger Quarterback in 2006 and on. Philip got screwed when Drew decided to become a real quarterback.

The Chargers actually caught a break when they found out Eli is a little ****, cause if he were starting for them right now they would have a worse record.
-
He did receive a lot of **** at the beginning of his career. Wasn\'t he second to Manning who refused to play for the Bolts?
-
Man It is sooo nice to see Drew Brees get some run on Sportscenter. Watching him develop into the Leader he is today has been a rough road at times but worth every heartache. Go Bolts!!
-
I honestly think we got a really good shot at winning it all or at least get to the super bowl if things go our way.
Read: We\'re gonna need all the luck in the world to have any chance.
I think its time the giants get some respect too.
Read: It\'s about time more people started acknowledging that the Giants are the fourth or fifth best team in the NFC.
Granted eli is still very young and makes a lot of bad throws and interceptions but we can overcome that.
Read: Eli is going to sink us in the playoffs, I can see it coming from a mile away. But hey, at least he\'s still got potential.
We have the skill, we have the heart, we just need the discipline and a little luck and we are totally in there.
Read: We\'re in over our heads. We have a team of highly talented underachievers and unless they all simultaneously start making the plays they should and we get lucky, we\'re ****.

I believe that #20 of the Giants is getting a BJ from a Chief. He is quite excited about it.
-
Chargers literally outplayed the Colts. Chargers had there back to the wall and were forced to come out swinging and landed just about every punch they threw. After watching the highlights from the Colts game last night, I question if they will be able to perform to the level they need to in the playoffs. Someone from Tampa Bay said this after Saturday\'s game, "Until New England is beat in the playoffs, the are still the best team in the NFL".
Anyone see the Bears/Falcons game last night? When did the Bears defense become so good. Offense really isn\'t there but the defense gives them the opportunity to win. If Grossman comes back and the offense clicks the way it looked when he play last night, the Bears could make a good run at the SB. I\'d just like to see Bears/Giants and let the defenses go-off.
-
If the Colts did indeed look past the Chargers, it cost them a chance @ History. I doubt they did. The game was contested until the last couple of minutes.
The Chargers knew they had to win and set themselves up to win the last 2 games of the season against division rivals and repeat as AFC West Champs.
-
Not really the word I was looking for, so I went with the first word I thought of.
Chargers need to win out the rest of the season to get into the playoffs? Not sure but next week definitely looks like a big game for them vs. Kansas City in Missouri. With the Giants victory over the Chiefs yesterday, it kept the Chargers chances alive and when they won today they gave themselves a well needed boost before the end of the season.
Are the Colts going to lost this afternoon? That would be a huge victory for the staggering Chargers.
So they lost to the Dolphins because they made the mistake of looking PAST them.
I think the Colts looked past the Chargers this week and were thinking Seattle and the playoffs.
-
Are the Colts going to lost this afternoon? That would be a huge victory for the staggering Chargers.
Staggering Chargers?
Up to last week they were in total control of their destiny. So they lost to the Dolphins because they made the mistake of looking PAST them. Well now the real Chargers showed up and have done what no one else could so far this year and that is take out the Colts. 2 Mannings and 2 victories this year. Gotta love it!!!!
-

-
yea i dont know how the play off matchups are going to work but if it comes down to the giants and seatle for the NFC championship you know the giants are taking it down after that heartbreaker.
-
Giants looked real good yesterday beating up on the Chiefs. The Giants defense looked well tuned and very dominate. Tiki very well might be the MVP in the NFC. I personally don\'t think the NFC has the what it takes to win the Super Bowl, but I would like to see the Giants/Seahawks rematch in the playoffs.
-
i dont think they were even tackeling poor. you dont see guys just mess up and miss that many tackles. We were just playing with superior intensity and will! I didnt want to say it but you are totally right MVP. entire game was all tiki. If his momentum continues and he can have efforts like that combined with some passing game we are shoe in

incredible day for tiki. possibly the most underrated player in the league. could not believe what i was seeing.. play after play, turning short gains into bustout runs.. felt great to watch the best rushing performance in giants history, and best in the league this year.. great game!
MVP right there, for a back who is small and couldn\'t hold on to the ball a few years ago, MVP for TIKI. When Eli can\'t throw a screen pass Tiki has been there to carry the team. Very rare to see a player do so much (even though the Chiefs couldn\'t tackle to save their lives today!)
-
tiki starting to get the credit he deserves tho dont you think dave, This will obviously help too. I cant wait for sportscenter :D
here is some stats
• Tiki Barber set four team records and tied another while rushing for 220 yards and two touchdowns on 29 carries.
His 220 rushing yards set a franchise single-game mark, two more than Gene “Choo Choo” Roberts’ 218 yards against the Chicago Cardinals on Nov. 12, 1950. Barber’s previous high was the 206 yards he had against Washington on Oct. 30. It was the third 200-yard game of his career. Barber rushed for 203 yards against Philadelphia on Dec. 28, 2002.
Barber increased his season rushing total to 1,577 yards, breaking the team single-season record of 1,518 he set last year. Barber has two games remaining to add to his mark. He is the first Giant in history with back-to-back 1,500-yard seasons.
It was Barber’s fifth consecutive 100-yard game, another team record. He was tied with Morris (1986) and Gary Brown (1998) at four in a row. Barber has 29 career 100-yard rushing performances, 10 more than Morris, who is second in team history.
Barber’s seventh rushing attempt late in the first quarter was the 1,824th of his career, tying Rodney Hampton for first place in Giants history. With an equal number of carries, Barber had 8,290 yards to Hampton’s 6,897, a difference of 1,393 yards. Barber broke the record with a five-yard rush on the Giants’ next possession. He finished the game with 1,846 career rushing attempts. Barber has 313 carries this season, the second-highest total of his career. He had 322 a year ago.
Barber’s two rushing touchdowns increased his career total to 49, enabling him to pass Joe Morris (48) and tie Rodney Hampton atop the Giants career list.
Barber also caught five passes for 29 yards. His 249 total yards were the second-highest total of his career. He had 276 total yards on Dec. 28, 2002 against the Eagles (203 rushing, 73 receiving).
not to mention he has only made ONE FUMBLE all year!
if eli could just learn how to throw the bomb to plaxico and toomer and shockey could stop droppin the ball we would really beunstoppable
-
GO GIANTS!!! NEW YORK RULES! even the knicks are winning right now

Great day for the giants and tikiiiii!
that larry johnson clown is a hair on tikis ass.
I said before he even set the career high game yardage \'i think this is the best i have ever seen tiki run!\'
he was a total mad man out there. breakin tackles left and right, side steppin, runnin in place and just gettin serly jiggy with it!
also the highest single game preformance in the nfl all season and last too!
and all this vs with a make shift offensive line and defense that is very good against the run!
gotta give it up to em. tiki owned face today.
cant wait for the play offs.
I honestly think we got a really good shot at winning it all or at least get to the super bowl if things go our way.

if I were the Texans I\'d be doing exactly what they are doing. Blow the games. What does 1 more win mean for them at this point in the season. Lose the rest of the games and get Reggie Bush.
-
Friggin\' Bolts!
-
how about that ridiculous missed field goal by whoever Houston\'s kicker is! in response to the jets victory, the texans purposely lossed in my mind. jimmy kimmel had a funny little segment about it during tonights game.
-
Thank God Feely made that kick. If he missed, it probably wouldve been the career ender.
yea i actually kinda felt bad for him after the game when he was being interviewed. He was totally groveling...thanking the lord and stuff hahaha.
defense looked awesome again tho. Let some points up but came through HUGE in OT. Oumenyuoira or however you spell that **** is the man. strahan had some nice hits on mcmahoan too.
-
yeah, i should probably change that. although, well, it\'s good for next year as well at this point
-
all part of the road 2 superbowl.
-
yeah i got an email today from the team\'s mailing list bragging about the win and how excited they all were... i just cringed
-
Great win for the Jets! 5 years from now when Reggie Bush is winning his 4th consecutive rushing title for someone else, at least Jet fans can be happy that they beat the Raiders back in December 2005 to go to 3-10.
-
if you ever have any tickets you want to give away let me know, k :)
For sure bro, the real reason i didnt go is cuz someone gave me two pairs at about an hour before kickoff today, and as easy as it sounds to round up troops on a sunday to go see some football last minute, nobody was around/interested. but i guess even if i did go i wouldntve been able to watch the Giants game!
-
if you ever have any tickets you want to give away let me know, k :)
-
i had 4 tickets to that game and didn\'t go....cuz the jets suck
-
i can\'t believe the **** jets won today.
way to blow the draft pick guys. they can\'t even lose right
-
Thank God Feely made that kick. If he missed, it probably wouldve been the career ender.

i\'ll take that bet!

Giants trying to instill some confidence into their kicker for the postseason?
The Colts are damn close to having an undefeated record this season. Three games to go, San Diego next week at home, then the Seahawks in Seattle before heading home to finish the season against the Cardinals. Seattle is hot this year, that game will definitely be worth watching.
The NFC at the moment in my eyes is between Seahawks, Giants and Tampa Bay. Bears and Minnesota could make a few surprises. Indianapolis is clearly the dominate team in the AFC at the moment and it wouldn\'t be to far fetched to see an AFC title game between Cincinnati and Indianapolis. However, the Broncos have had a decent season. Unfortunately, I don\'t see the Pats doing much this season, since they have been inconsistent at times this season and really don\'t have that dominat figure that they showed in prior championship seasons, but they are the Pats and stranger things have happened.
-
Thats what I get for having Kerry Collins as my backup too.
-
That\'s what you get for playing a quarterback against your real-life favorite team. You gotta bite the bullet and bench anyone when they play against the Giants. You deserve to miss the playoffs.
-
I thought for sure Dallas would march down the field and tie the game after Feely\'s monster doink. Eli went for -1 fantasy points and his team won. What the heck is that?
Thats Drew Bledsoe having 0 fantasy points as well, so not much consolation there. I am a Giants fan who happened to have Bledsoe on my fantasy team. But I would much rather have the giants win than Drew to have a good team. Missed the playoffs in my league because of it too, oh well.

If Chicago and the Giants play in the postseason, I like the Bears to win 4-3, with Feely missing a late kick to win it.
:point: The Patriots are the best team in the AFC, no doubt.
-
I thought for sure Dallas would march down the field and tie the game after Feely\'s monster doink. Eli went for -1 fantasy points and his team won. What the heck is that?

The Jets have one touchdown in their last four GAMES.

Giants were lucky to win today with that preformance.
Glad they did but they didnt look that good.
Actually the defense looked GREAT but the offense looked like shitty.
One of eli\'s worst games this year if not his worse.
Not a big day for eli, tiki, plexico or shokey, luckily the defense and a few other people stepped it up and we got the W.
We are still the best team in the nfc no doubt.
how long was that one that feely hit off the post like 30 yards??? SHEESH!
what a shmuck0!
hope the bears cross paths with your Giants.. our defense will have eli changing his panties. although i do know that NY has a solid defense too, and our O is brutal. either way, itd be a real good game.

Good to see the Bears winning again.

Bears.

it wasn\'t pretty, but today the giants won their biggest game of the year, and are alone in first place in the NFC East.
Only 2 times a yr do I give a rat\'s ass that the giants win. Dallas games.

bit of an exaggeration with \'whenever i make a comment.... blah blah blah\' ill usually debate with ya leith, but its just so easy to push your buttons sometimes and i actually have a lot of fun doing it. nothing personal, just good entertainment.
btw, your \'good\' point sucks. hes playing the toughest position in any sport and what he did was put his team in a very good spot to win. you suck leith. thats right, you.
Yeah I guess you\'re right. I used to be the same way w/ Freddie but he\'s no fun anymore. Waaaay to serious now.
As for my point . I remember watching the game and cheering when Eli overthrew the passes I referred to. I kinda had a feeling they would lose once the 1st pass and then subsequent kick were missed.

the offense did their job by putting their kicker in position to win the game. the kicking game is part of the offense and eli marched down field to bring on the field goal unit. how can you say that a game should never come down to the kicking team? are you kidding me? this is the NFL and their isnt that much discrepancy of talent, every game could be won by either team. why do you think spreads in the pros float around 3 points frequently? when a game comes down to a kick at the end, that just means it was a GOOD football game.
as for the line jumping, you wont know what the problem was.. **** theyre only human and the line couldve had brain farts all day long. i have a strong feeling that if it was noise control at first, they took care of the problem.
as for Da\' Bears, That\'s What I\'m Talkin\' About!
Eli could have put the kicker in BETTER position to make those kicks.
If he had thrown 2 decent passes in either situation things could have been different. Heck he could have even called a run audible the 2nd time and had better field position.
shutup ****.
Why whenever I make a good point you have to resort to that ****? Oh immaturity. I get it.

No football game should come down to a kicker...who can\'t kick. If your kicker is Adam Vinatieri then by all means just get into field goal range and you\'ll take home the W like Laura Bush.

The Lions have a lot of talent. There doesn\'t seem to be any consistent chemistry amongst the team. Personally, and this might be my hatred for Millen, I think it\'s time for him to go. The Lions have been perenial losers since Sanders left (I believe, when was the last time they had a solid winning season with a playoff win?) Millen seems to have no answers for turning the program into a winning one, so far.
Dick Jauron is a Yale Alumni and a Bears former coach (of whom I am a fan of the Bears), so I would like to see him do well, but running an entire team is a lot different then running an offense or defense.
-
he made the playoffs. but you are prob right, but who knows who they will have next year. as a lions fan i am surely disappointed with this season and have no idea what to expect next year. i mean its not all moochs fault, millen is partially to blame along with poor play. k.jones never had the year he was projected to have after leading the nfl in the final 8 weeks of hte season. c. rodge got off to a rough rookie season, hasnt recooped and is not addicted to pain killers, j.g. broke his leg and screwed up the season, since he was goign to start. j.harrington playa role in this too, but this was more than mooch. maybe its time for the fords to sell the team or something.
i mean their is supposed to be a super bowl in detroit this year, and since we all kmnow detroit most likely wont be playing, you\'d figure they would want to represent themselves well in hopes of getting another one in the near future, but outlooks is just not so good. this really sucks...
-
I don\'t think Dick Jauron is the answer here. He had a tough time in Chicago. While he is an excellent coordinator, I don\'t believe he has the qualities for running a team effectively at the moment. Only time will tell though.
-
Lions fire mooch. dont know what to say. heard of this the days after the turkey fiasco but didnt buy in them. jauran is good for hte remaining 5 games and maybe next year. if we finish 9-7 then we may take the division and make the playoffs.
-
The 10 offsides/illegal motion penalities can be tied to Eli. He is the center os the offense, everything revolves around him. If the tackle can\'t hear him then it\'s his fault. However, if the tackle can hear him and still jumps offsides, well its completely different story.
if the tackle can\'t hear him, he needs to maybe think about making an adjustment after the first 3 or 4 times he jumps offsides, like maybe holding hands with his guard. you canNOT blame eli for not being loud enough in that stadium. he can\'t really say \'HIKE!\' to one side of the line, then turn his head and say it to the other side..
The quarterback is at the helm of the offense. He is the player responsible for making the adjustments when necessary. Blame it on inexperience of not playing many professional games, this may have been the loudest game he has ever played in.
The fact is, no professional football team should make that many mistakes and I believe they made 4-5 in a row on the same drive.
Yet, no football team should blame a kicker because no game really should come down to making the kicker win the game. Lack of offense is usually the culprit. But, the kicker sucks and I agree with Gordo.
huh? no game should come down to a kicker having to win it?? then wtf is he there for??
well, it\'s obivous you didn\'t watch this game.. 21 points, 25 first downs, 490 total yards, and time of possession domination = lack of offense?? no. eli manning and the offense MARCHED down the field FOUR times late in the game and in OT, 3 of which set up a would-be game-winning field goal, which were all missed.. so by your logic, with 20 seconds left in regulation, from the 23 yard-line, the giants should have rushed to the line and threw to the end zone, rather than attempt a field goal? give me a break.
I did watch this game for the fact that I am anti-giant and anti-jet. So to see a dominate team lose like that made me laugh. If you read my previous post, I stated that no team should blame the kicker for losing a game.
By my logic, They should have won the game prior to having make the place kicker who missed 3 kicks try to win it. Everybody on that team should have sucked it up and put the ball in the endzone knowing that Feely would miss a field goal. And yes, lack of offense is usually the culprit, in this case, the Giants sucked and had a lot of penalties, which will kill any teams attempt at winning a game.
-
hate on Eli all you want but the kid is a great qb and is going to be better than payton eventually.
He is so clutch it is retarded.
Even if the giants lose in the first round of the play offs this year I will be happy because the team will win it all in the next 5 years gaurunteed.
between eli, plexico tiki and shockey they will have the best offense in the leauge soon enough.
they need a bigger better offensive line and a lot of help in thier secondary and a NEW FIELD GOAL KICKER and we will be UNSTOPPABLE.
-
How come Peyton has NO problems with loud crowds?
Seems he\'s got an audible system that does not need to be heard sometimes. Eli has got to be wonderin\' bout that.

missing a field goal, or two, or four, whatever the case was -- CAN be acceptable.. but when youre **** short from 45 yards out you ought to be given a rental car to drive home while the team boards a jet. what a ****.
-
FEELY DESERVES TO DIE.
END OF STORY.
completly his fault.
i am not stressing it tho.
we will beat the cowboys next week at home and remain in first.
-
:rotfl: Oh my god the New York Giants are a freakin riot. I\'m a lifelong Red Sox fan and I can\'t remember a Red Sox team that could lose more creatively than these Giants. When they lose, man, they do it right. At least Eli had a good day for me in fantasy.
-
Feely needs to learn how to kick a fieldgoal in a pressure situation, and Webster needs to be cut.
yeah, cause the 3 missed game-winning field goals were definitely eli\'s fault, not to mention the 78439 offsides penalties on the offensive line.
yeah Petitgout couldn\'t sit still all game. He lost about 50 yards for us alone.
-
yeah, cause the 3 missed game-winning field goals were definitely eli\'s fault, not to mention the 78439 offsides penalties on the offensive line.

Eli needs to talk w/ big bro on how to handle crowd noise.
-
That really hurts. No field goal. No Simpsons. Well, at least the knicks are playing tomorrow
-
unfuckingbelievable.
-
Giants are having some trouble with false starts tonight. its getting a little rediculous, but we up 10-7 ohhhh yeah shockey!
-
T.O. is poison I said it when The Niners kept him instead of Mooch. Stupid Niners.
Chargers win in OT!!
LT wins it w/ a NICE TD run. Oh Yeah!!! Man the 4 losses this year by what like 12 points total ? are just killing me right now.
-
So, T.O. is in good shape.
Will any team pick him up? Does he have a chance to play in the NFL, I mean every team he has been on, has had serious problems. NFL should take a stance and not let him play again. He is poison. In a game where team chemistry is so important you can\'t take a chance, or can you? I mean the dude is seriousily talented and when he wants to play he is great, but his attitude and his mentally are disasterious.
-
how about that 108 yd. FIELD-GOAL return for a touchdown by Vasher. that **** was nuts, he made that one spin that lost everyone and it arguably won the game for em. bobby wade is lucky the bears won, 3 punt return fumbles in the same game is hard to swallow as a fan.
-
Congratulations Vikings on being the first team ever to have a kick return, punt return, and interception return for touchdowns in the same game. That is truly amazing. At halftime, the Vikings had 7 points and 6 yards of offense, that is one of my favorite stats ever. It\'s kinda like a baseball team having a run with no hits, only way way harder. Not to pick on the Giants though, I think they\'ll rebound to take down the Eagles.
-
Actually, that places him tied for 7th, but who\'s counting? That is, unless you\'re counting Eli\'s picks, in which case you\'d count 4. Or the amount of times Taylor got busted, in which case you\'d count 132.
-
Does Lawrence Taylor hold any NFL records?
I think he holds the record for the most crack **** smoked during a professional sports career, just inching past A.C. Green. where do i get my facts? http://www.cracksmoker.com
also hold the all time sacks record with 132 1/2.

Week 10
Vikings 24, Giants 21
oh.. my.. GOD!!!
ugh..
in a giants season full of sloppy, disgusting, hard-to-watch games, this one takes the cake..
defense hasn\'t allowed a TD in 13 quarters now.. great.. but they let brad johnson and the vikes march down the field at the end of the game for the GW field goal.
...which, by the way, would have never happened if Eli (who definitely had his worst game of the year) hadn\'t spiked the ball, leaving the vikes with plenty of time to do so..
i felt the exact same way i felt in the Dallas game, where the giants came back at the very end to force OT, only to lose the toss and lose the game on the first series in OT.
Eli was horrible, as was the Special Teams.. a kickoff and a punt run back for TD\'s.. :sigh:
i really wanted a win with the Eagles coming to town next week.. now the Giants pretty much have to win that game..
ugh.. i didn\'t even want to watch the FG attempt at the end of the game, cause i knew he was gonna hit it..
i hate sports.
-
Niners @ least showed how bad the Giants really are. How tall does Eli think his recievers are? LOL Well Giants fan at least a win is a win huh?
oh let\'s just calm down, now..
is the offense a little shakey? sure. were there a lot of retarded penalties yesterday? sure. but the last time i checked, the last touchdown scored against the giants\' defense was 9 quarters ago. their D has given up a total of 3 TDs in the last 4 games.. if the D continues to perform like this, and the O can do just enough to squeak by, i\'ll be happy.
bad? no. bad teams lose the sloppy games.
-
Friggin\' Cardiac Bolts! Defense decided to finally show up in the last minute. Thank goodness. Losing to these Jets would be horrible. So starting the 2nd half on a good note. Man these guys could use a bye.
Niners @ least showed how bad the Giants really are. How tall does Eli think his recievers are? LOL Well Giants fan at least a win is a win huh?
-
Great time at the Pats game last night, but very weird game. The Pats only showed up for the last 8 minutes of the game. But hey, when you outscore the opponent 14-0 in the last 8 minutes, that\'s reason enough to win. The defense actually did a great job limiting the Bills to 4 FG attempts after 4 long drives and no rest in between. The D was out there all day. That kept us in the game.
Where are all the Giants fans? Is this team for real?
-
Ladanian needs a completely different nickname, like 6-Point or something like that. You can\'t have your initials as your nickname when someone else with the same initials already used their initials as their nickname. Especially when that palyer was better than you.
2 different positions and LT\'s career is hardly started so how can Lawrence Taylor be a better player? pffft.
Oh and LT just tied the NFL consecutive games w/ a TD record. Does Lawrence Taylor hold any NFL records? I do not think so. Oh wait he went to 10 consecutive Pro Bowls OOOOOOHHHH. Giants fans make me laugh.
lawrence taylor is considered by many to be the greatest defensive player of all time, certainly the best linebacker. he would dominate the game and NEVER touch the ball. tomlinson has a long way to go to be considered in his caliber. he\'s had a great start to his career, no doubt, but the history of the league is littered with players that had a great start. for the record....i\'m NOT a giants fan.
-
the pats didn\'t make the playoffs - when was that, two years ago? or three? in between super bowl victories. it\'s the NFL. it\'s unpredictable. it\'s different from year to year. and THAT\'S why i love this sport.
yeah. i mean look at those jets.
-

Pats season in a nutshell:
Whether you\'re a fan of the team or not, any NFL fan has to wonder what happens to their 2-time defending champions. It\'s pretty simple this year:
They will just enough to win the AFC East, whether that means 9-7 or 10-6. They will have the 4 seed, and win their first-round home game. Then its off to Indy, and Indy will finally have their year, toasting the Pats secondary for a 31-17 victory.

i\'m gonna go ahead and agree with wolfman about what he wrote to me in a PM last night: yesterday\'s Giants game was one of the worst games i\'ve ever seen in my life.
defense forces 3 turnovers in the first half, and our offense is absolutely SILENT until late in the second half, when they commit 2 turnovers themselves on would-be touchdowns.. then as soon as i\'m ready to throw in the towel, they march down the field and score a touchdown in 33 seconds to force overtime and give me hope, only to lose the coin toss and lie down defensively to lose on the opening drive of OT.
Eli\'s youth was definitely showing yesterday though.. he\'s yet to win an away game..
-

leith, i know it\'s early there, but please reread my post and laugh a little..
-
Yeah like LaDainian Tomlinson had anything to do w/ his initials. Waaaahhhhhh Get over it. By the time LT is done w/ football. He may well be known as one of the best ever so get used to it. Bitter Giants fan.
-
please stop calling him LT. kthxbye.
get over it, he\'s the premier running back in the league and if people are gonna call him LT, then so be it. At least he\'s not a crackhead like the other one.
yeah, well his initials are completely unoriginal.

Man the Chargers came up short again. LT had a good game but it was not enough. When the 2 pt conversion failed I knew the game was lost. It sucks to feel that way but **** it the Angels WON!!!!!!!!
-
sounds like red sox fans up until last year.
you gotta pull for your team no matter what
-
Jet fans = most dillusional fan in professional sports.....they think their team is the best team out there every friggin year, yet they haven\'t really had a championship team since before the 1970\'s.......
-
the jets are going to win the superbowl
:-D
-
So, with logic factoring in, here is the run down of the afc east:
? The Patriots lost to the Panthers, the Panthers lost to the Dolphins, therefor the Dolphins through week 3 are better than the Patriots! WooHOO!
i like this train of thought. dolphins are in first place in the afc east. jets beat the dolphins = therefore the jets are really the best team in the afc east
:-D
That\'s cool antbach, go right ahead. Hey, we can laugh together at the Jets. Would you let this man start at QB for your team?

the new york football giants are 3-1 heading into their bye week. at 34 PPG, they have the highest scoring offense in the league. their defense has been a little shakey, but this is a giants team i haven\'t seen in a long time. this team has a LOT of weapons, and the big picture is this: Eli Manning. he is maturing VERY quickly, and he\'s been damn impressive so far, using all his available weapons, and throwing a lot of passes without being picked. Eli is the future of this team, and hopefully there will be great things ahead.
go G-UNIT!

Ummm where\'s all the Pats fans? Fuckin\' front runnin\' fans. Your team got DOMINATED in the second half by the SAN DIEGO CHARGERS. DOMINATED! SHUT OUT in the 2nd half.
How do ya all feel about that? I know how I feel about it. The rest of the NFL betta recognize this Charger team is no pushover!
the chargers have an absolutely disgusting offense when used correctly (as it was the last two weeks). LT needs to touch the ball in all aspects of the game at least 30 times a game and there is no stopping them. If their secondary can pull it together (from what ive seen their run defense isnt too shabby) they have a legitimate shot at being AFC champions, unless they run into the turnaround team of the year (the aquatic mammals of south florda - add sarcasm tags around this last sentence)

the AFC east took some real shots this past week. Spikes, Harrison, and Pennington all out for the season. They are all impact players on their teams too. I personally am crushed by the loss of spikes...being a bills fan and all. The bills could be dead in the water now.

Losing Rodney is going to make this year even harder for the Pats. Man that sucks. I don\'t really root for the Pats but I did watch them because of him. I like many Charger fans were very upset to see him leave and happy he won a Super Bowl. The Pats are known for bench players stepping up but I don\'t know this time.
-
That\'s cool antbach, go right ahead. Hey, we can laugh together at the Jets. Would you let this man start at QB for your team?

Yes, all you lovely Dolphin fans, hang your hat on the transitive property of sports, it never fails. When the Pats visit Miami the Dolphins will no doubt be the heavy favorite. [/Sarcasm]
-
So, with logic factoring in, here is the run down of the afc east:
? The Patriots lost to the Panthers, the Panthers lost to the Dolphins, therefor the Dolphins through week 3 are better than the Patriots! WooHOO!
-
next week will be a test for sure.. here\'s hoping SD\'s luck stays down..
Come on now you knew this was a game that The Chargers could not lose. esp. w/ the 0-2 start. This was a win for the fans as well as the team. He handled himself decently and as a person I hope he does well. As a Charger fan I say **** YOU buddy and get the hell outta town w/ a loss ya ****.

I absolutely love these guys. They are simply willing to fight longer than anyone else. Too bad the Jets are going to the Super Bowl  Jet fans, if you want to see champions play football, try watching the Patriots become the first team in 15 regular season games to win at Pittsburgh rather than watching your perennial underachievers lose at home to Jacksonville. Remember what happened last time the Jets played at Pittsburgh? The Jets would have a more productive Monday tomorrow by watching video of the Patriots rather than video of their own game.

after settling for a field goal on an impressive opening drive, the giants are getting the **** beat out of them right now.. no defense whatsoever..
Back in the game but no matter what Eli is gonna feel this one sacked and 2 roughing the passer fouls. We\'ll take a couple more too. Show that little brat you don\'t diss SD ****!!

lions suffered a heartbreaker last week. had a 41 kickoff return for td, then 1 pass to roy williams for 51 yd td. at that time it was 10-6, than all hell broke lose. hopefully they can re-group on the bye week and come back stron vs. the Bucs.
giants super bowl bound? they havea sound team but they\'re in the toughest division in the nfc, they have to contend with the eagles, the cowboys, and even the redskins have a shot this year.
-
The Gints are 2-0. Eli Manning is looking more like Peyton Manning. Gints super bowl bound?

To quote a great and wise ex-coach of both the Giants and the Patriots, "You are what your record says you are." Thus, by all accounts, the Giants are better than the Patriots.
-
next week will be a test for sure.. here\'s hoping SD\'s luck stays down..

The Giants are gonna be 2-1 after their next game. Uh Huh
-
Giants 2-0!!
though they didn\'t look so hot in the second half last night, they were able to hold the Saints off to remain undefeated!
-
F\'N Chargers!
Oh and Randy is not the only Moss doing good things. Santana Moss can catch a ball or 2 himself. I love it when The Cowboys lose!
-
Ha, I knew that didn\'t look right...but considering how unheard of a thrashing like that is for a DEFENSE, maybe that spelling fits!!! BILLS WIN SUPER BOWL...say it in whatever language you want.
-
Walsh, we\'re not in Europe, life is not lived in Amsterjam. Defense is spelled with an S in this country. What\'s next, a football field is 94.6 meters? It\'s first and 9.46? I don\'t think so.
-
i think 8-8 would be a successful year for the giants in 2005
-
just ask willie mcginist and richard seymour
-
If any football gets discussed it should be about the Bills Defence shutting down the Texans and David Carr...120 TOTAL yards!!!!!!!
Even by accident teams get more than that...Less than 50 yards passing. Unheard of!
McGahee will win rushing title...but Defence wins CHAMPIONSHIPS!!!!!!

Colts came together in the 2nd half. Really looked good defensively, better then the so much talked about Ravens Defense. Offensively, the Colts have a lot of weapons, especially if Manning becomes comfortable having James run the ball more in certain situations.
-
go Giants!
-
caught the end of NO/Carolina today after the yanks and before the giants.. no dog in the race for me, so i was definitely rooting for NO to pull it off, and it was nice to see them hold off overtime and get it done.. i won\'t be rooting for them next monday night.
and in better news, the New York Giants are undefeated!! :D:thumbsup:
Giants/Saints in the matinee game next Monday night, right? Should be a good night of football then, 2 Monday nighters!
The Giants really came together in the second half. 2 quick touchdowns to start it off. A couple of thiings they need to fine tune and the Giants can pull of a really good season. Once Manning gets into a groove and gets his comfortablity going, the kid is going to be unstopable.

Anyone watch any of these games today? Some good opening day football.
The Chiefs looked really impressive today. I now know what Pitchie was talk about a few weeks ago. With Johnson and Holmes coming out of the back field this year, they might be as impressive of back field I have seen in many years.
It was nice to see New Orleans win today. In dramatic fashion none the less.
Larry Fitzgerald had a career day, this kid is probably going to the Hall of Fame by the time his career is over.
The best games of Week 1, IMO, are the Indy/Baltimore game tonight and the Philly/Atlanta game tomorrow.
ahh, I love Football Season!
-
It\'s all about the Pats. 3 peat baby !!!!!!!!!!!
-
I know that both teams are definitely capable of winning it all. Both teams have had very good seasons in the last couple of years. Seattle needs to overcome a few humps and they are there. Chiefs, I wouldn\'t mind seeing, but as a Patriots fan, I need to see the Pats.
-
Both teams have good quarterbacks, two solid running backs, including one franchise RB, outstanding offensive lines, stellar secondaries, and coaches who have won Super Bowls. I mean, I\'m not gonna guarantee ****, but I think these teams are as balanced and strong as any in the league. Meanwhile, as a Browns fan, I\'d gladly take an 8-8.

Well, well, well. The day has finally arrived. The start of the NFL season begins tonight at 9pm, when the Raiders head to Foxboro to play the Patriot who are on a quest to repeat being the World Champions.
Move over church, here come FOOTBALL!
Nothing like a cold beer on a Sunday morning instead of a hymn.

Sep 5, 2:15 PM (ET)
By EDDIE PELLS (AP)
DENVER (AP) - Unwilling to be a bit player with the Broncos, Jerry Rice retired Monday, closing a 20-year career for the most productive receiver in NFL history.
Rice, 42, made his decision over the weekend at home in San Francisco, then returned to Broncos headquarters and met with coach Mike Shanahan. He played 20 NFL seasons.
"This is a happy day," he said. "I think the tears that you see basically is that I have really enjoyed this ride."
Shanahan confirmed what Rice already knew - that he would be a fourth or fifth receiver, at best this season - and Rice confirmed what many figured - that he would rather call it quits than be a bit player with the Broncos.
Rice signed with Denver over the summer, reuniting with Shanahan, who was his offensive coordinator in the 1990s in San Francisco. For Rice, the idea was to play for a coach who was familiar with him and for a team that could help him go out a winner.
Shanahan made it clear he would not promise Rice anything, not even a roster spot. Behind the scenes, though, Shanahan said he knew it would never come down to him having to cut the league\'s best all-time receiver: He figured if Rice knew it was time to go, he would step aside himself.
Early in training camp, Rice moved into Denver\'s third receiver spot and things looked promising. In retrospect, the promotion was more a reflection on Darius Watts, who struggled catching the ball, but improved as the preseason went on.
By the time preseason ended, Rice had only four catches for 24 yards and had been pushed back down the depth chart. As expected, he wasn\'t released when the Broncos announced their final round of cuts Saturday, but he was already in the Bay Area deciding his future.
His agent, Jim Steiner, has said if Rice retired this time, he would not try to come back with another team. If that\'s so, Rice will close his career with 38 NFL records, including those for career receptions (1,549), yards receiving (22,895) and touchdowns receiving (197).

Bills= 2nd rated D in NFL 2yrs. running
Bills= Haven\'t made the postseason the last 2 years
Best Rec trio in NFL(Moulds, Evans and Parrish)
Wait...who? The Bills signed Robert Parish!?! Pretty good signing there. Who can possibly cover a 7\'1" guy on a fade route?
Best Special teams in NFL last year
If by best special teams you mean "highest total punting yardage." Hey, a Cardnial fan might hang his hat on the fact that the Cardinals had the best weight room last year. Either way, nobody cares. Whether you start a drive against the Pats on the 15 or the 20, you\'re still going nowhere.
S.T.U.D. RB that WILL win the rushing title in his 1st full year
S.T.U.D.= Straight Trippin Underachieving Dud
Unproven but exciting, MOBILE, QB(I know this is the dark horse)
Given that half of this statement is guaranteed accurate (the parts about how he\'s unproven and a quarterback), this comment makes your others look like dark horses.
Who\'s got better as of right now?
Well, the Heat have Shaq, he could probably cover Parish.
-
Who is the starting running back going to be this year for the Bills?
Gates or McGahee?
I can\'t wait for opening night.
-
Bills will win the AFC east this year...Pats lost too many players and even worst lost the 2 best asst coaches in the league...Bellichek will bite off more than he can chew trying to run everything an the team will falter.

As a non-fan of Wolf\'s, I hope the Patriots do not accomplish the unprecedented and win three straight Bowls.
Haha ****. Prepare the VCR. You might as well write my name on this year\'s Super Bowl tape now.
Seth, yes, and I am not ashamed of it.
Hey, there\'s nothing to be ashamed of. So you happen to suck right now, so what. It\'s a very good franchise and they\'ll be back before you know it.
Oh yeah, Pitchie, remember when Bill Belichick was your head coach? Losing Belichick as coach due to franchise ceasing to exist = worst move ever. Man, think of what coulda been. Who knew in 1994 when Belichick\'s browns beat the Patriots in the playoffs what would become of him, and the two franchises. Now that I think about it, that was the last time the Browns won a postseason game. In the words of the inimitable Mr. Pecoraro: "Oof."
-
Anthony, are you a Dolphins fan? Just curious.
The Dolphins would be best off tanking the entire season and getting another year\'s worth of high draft picks. I think they will show moderate improvement from last year, but being in a division with the invincible Patriots, the up-and-coming Bills, and the not-bad Jets, they\'re still a long way from any legitimate contention.
Seth, yes, and I am not ashamed of it. I do agree. I think they should tank the season to draft Matt Leinart #1 overall next year. Pretty-southern cali boy, he\'d fit right in on south beach, not to say he doesn\'t have a damn good arm either. I\'ve been saying it since they first got Ricky that they were a quarterback short from contending. I am still pissed off they passed on Drew Brees when they had the chance a few years ago. Knew the kid was gonna be good since Purdue.
-
The Browns have fans. It\'s football players they seem to be lacking.
-
wow, i didn\'t know the browns actually had fans
-
As a fan of the NFL, I\'m obviously pumped the game is back. As a fan of the Browns, I\'m hoping for a .500 season. As a non-fan of Wolf\'s, I hope the Patriots do not accomplish the unprecedented and win three straight Bowls. My predictions to follow. Bet the house on the opposite.
-
You have the Vikings and Packers ranked neck-and-neck...interesting. Most people fart in the Packers\' general direction these days. I\'m not hoping for a fantastic season from them, but hopefully it\'s better than last season\'s mediocre performance.
Let\'s see if the Colts actually don\'t suck in the playoffs and blow everything like last season.
Mary Mother of Jesus I love the NFL.
