This show was sooo good. I really enjoyed the inverted taboo. The dualing guitars was so much fun and got everyones attention for sure. gladys pimp...HLH...GBFBITS. What a great time.

I don\'t know the whole thing verbatim.... but here\'s a quick sum up.
show started w/ a GBFBITS> Taboo or not Taboot(inverted) there was a chase in there, then an Unfinished Hardluck> GBFBITS jam, which was ser as ser can be. the first set ended w/ Taboo(beginning)> KarnEvil 9 and a Mayfly w/ the guitarist from Rezi(peep this mayfly, dual guitar ahoy! is a thing of beauty, and the trade offs between him, tim and jordan were sweet. The second set had a great Gladys Pimp w/ the keyboardist from spyrogyro > Roadhouse Blues. Scattered across the show were staples like No Regret, Doughboy, and Inner Glimpse, and the second set closed w/ a Superfly Fatty Fat> Hardluck Harry jam(short and to the point). The encore was Mommy, what\'s a funkadelic?

what a sick show. highlights included a wild taboo, an insane mayfly with special guest guitarist from rezi, gladys pimp :D. Timmy\'s new strat is the same model as mine in the same color. it was kinda freaky. The whole band was really on. now im mulling over binghampton.

we still do. just be careful ;)
beers are only $3 before 9pm. $4 after.
the cherry wheat is not the best flavor. tastes like fake cherries.
The nut brown is the staple and goes down very smoothly.
The hefewiezen is real good if they remember to put a lemon it.
My fav is prolly the oatmeal stout tho. Not as good as sammy smiths but real tastey and gets you ripped!

there may be a light pat down at the door. Nothing crazy.
Don\'t smoke pot inside unless you are SUPER stealthy about it or in the middle of the crowd downstairs. ESPECIALLY don\'t smoke upstairs in the open.
There are plain clothes security people that will try to take your pipe and weed if they catch you.
Just smoke on the deck and you will be fine.
they are pretty strict about outside booze too. One time I found an empty bottle of bacardi and just pikced it up and they came over and messed with me like i was drinking it.

we were pretty crappy until like Halloween 03
the 3/5/05 show is weird, it was the first show without the original keyboardist, that kid sat in with us once, that night. Although it is decent
there is some really old **** on archive.org that is TERRIBLE!!!! Its kind of cool to listen to, because it goes from really terrible **** to decent **** in the end. The Chronology of a bunch of 18 year olds to 22 year olds. We started a bunch of kids **** around, then I got real serious, probably too serious, they all quit.
but the 5/5/05 and 5/7/05 shows have a return of the original keyboardist for those two "going away" shows, the first end of rezi. Then we got a new bassist for some summer shows this past summer, which were pretty cool but not the same, our drummer scored a job pretty much managing Rev Hall, so we cant really play gigs anymore. So this is the official ADIOS and kick in the ass, it sucks but what can you do. I am working with another new band right now, we\'re writing material for an album, so im psyched for that

i got hasseled on the floor as well. pretty chill place but they were dicks about smoking. just what you want after a $100 dinner bill and numerous beers from the bar. i might come up for the breakfast, but i\'ll pack my cooler and eat somewhere else.
btw.....i personally heard vinnie amico (who lives nearby) tell jordan that if he emailed him to remind him, he would try to attend this show. i know for a fact that vinnie is friendly with the owners and hangs here often.

make a right turn out of the venue (you\'re going south along the river) and cross the main street where the bridge is from and go past the franklin suites, find 4th street and you should find bars and the pizza places a few blocks down. there are also decent bars on river street but i have no idea if they are still open anymore. there ain\'t nothin but crack and car dealerships and **** stores on the rev hall side of troy. that part of town is actually lansingburgh.
you\'ve got two colleges there, RPI and russell sage (all female). sage is downtown around 2nd/3rd about 6-7 blocks from there and RPI is up the hill on 15th street.

Postom is right dont walk in the opposite direction of the river. I made that mistake when i saw the biscuits there first time at rev hall. we went for beer and my friend had a blue bandana on and we almost got killed by some cryps

i lived in troy for 5 years.
franklin square is the closest, it used to be a super 8, it\'s about 3 blocks away.
the rensselaer inn is a little further, but it might be cheaper. i\'d go with franklin square.
that\'s it for hotels in downtown troy. don\'t go ANYWHERE north of rev hall unless you are looking for crack.
try the cherry raspberry ale, VERY yummy. the food at the brewing company (that they are connected to) is so-so. beer is great.
there\'s an awesome pizza place on 4th and state called i *heart* ny pizza, and it will be open until 4:30-5am after the show for late night munchies, it\'s like $1-2 for a slice and a soda.
if the show is over early, you can all head over to a bar called the ruck on 3rd and state (about 4-5 blcoks from the hotel, it\'s safe, all college kids go there), bars are open til 4-4:30am there.
also, troy is a giant mess of one way streets so be careful when driving around.

woke up this morning and saw this thread, but didnt post instead just soaked it all in. ive been waiting to see a show here for a long time and the breakfast will be perfect. missed out on soulive and the slip a few months back
. i agree with other people on this board who say the breakfast should play nearby the following nite so I can make a nice little run.
should be a steller crowd once people hear the reviews from the jamband community about the breakfast rocking moe.down

I really hope that something gets announced near this show so people will get on ythe road for this weekend...Rev Hall would be a SER stop on the Breakfast NE touring schedule every few months...I like how the Dates are slowly leaking out one at a time.

In all Ser, a gig like this will only be successful if it is a packed show.
I don\'t know much about Rezi or what there fanbase is but I am sure that they can bring it.
For the rest of us, we need to start looking at ways to promote the **** of this show. If this is a step up for The Breakfast (in terms of venue size) then we owe it to them to make it a rager. I will see what I can research on the area. If anyone from this area can help us out, I would greatgly appreciate it.

This is a HUGE gig for the breakfast.
Very psyched for the music and what this has the potential to do for the band.
I don\'t know how many of you are familiar with Rev hall but it is a VERY SER venue.
In my opinion it is the best in NY and possibly the entire NE.
I have seen tons of rippin shows thier including keller, soulive, umphreys, disco biscuits and franti.
The place is very sweet like I said and every band that takes the stage thier seems to step it up huge.
The set up is straight forward. Large stage about 40 feet wide and 3.5 feet high. One giant wooden dance floor that can fit about 400 raging kids. A balcony that goes around the entire floor and holds a hundred or two. Bars upstairs and down with good beer on tap (brewery and restaurant connected to the venue) and bottled for reasonable prices. There is also a large patio section for smoking. THe sound is fantastic almost everywhere in the place.

But as I was saying I am really excited to see the breakfast step up to this challenge because if they pull this out will gain a huge new demographic of fans from the surrounding albany area where their following is not too strong. Also this is right after moe down, few weeks into college semeseter, one of the last nice weekends of the year in all likely hood. In short..headling a friday night, peak season, at rev hall is a HUGE slot. There is already a big buzz about the show around oneonta. There will probly be about 5-10 car loads of kids just from otwizz on this one.
anyway I predict THE FIRE on this one :drool:
