Greetings all, I have been an archive.org user for over a year now
and really have had great luck using the Fetch FTP software. I average
about a show a day when downloading (the Chittendon Park show
took two days) which seems to keep me plenty busy expanding SHNs,
burning shows and making covers. Definitely not for the impatient, but a wealth of material to be had....keep those burners burnin\', Kev

Yes, the archive is a very nice source...I too download an occasional show, just keep the d/l going for about 8 hours. Some recent BT shows have taken much longer. If everyone gets BT going and keeps windows open, we should see much higher d/l rates...
-
The best thing about archive.org is that 5 years from now a new pb fan can get hooked up with a bunch of shows. BT, when it works is amazing. I just grabbed that living room show in like 2 hours.
Heres a good tip about archive.org download the zip file before you go to bed, when you wake up you\'ll have a show waiting for you when you wake up.

If you have allot of time to spare you can go to Archive.org and d/l the 6-15-03 Family Jam. It\'s a monster!!! Get it here (http://www.archive.org/audio/etree-details-db.php?id=6795)

I just want to say thanks, this was a solid thread.
-
I just started using Archive.org now that I\'m up at college with a fast internet connection (and a bunch of friends to turn on to PB). But then again I can\'t use BT due to university restrictions.
Regardless of downloading preference, let us raise a glass to Todd, Matt Vallo, Dave Peck, Chris, and everybody else who has had a hand in taping these shows and getting them out worldwide.
-
BUT...they have to be there forever because that is how long it takes.
I was the one who brought Archive up to Josh, Matt & Dave and @ that time it moved at speeds like 150KB/s, now it is SO SLOW...but it is still a good resource to have around.
I love BT!!!
-
I agree, I love BT also.
But the great thing about Archive.org is they will be there supposedly forever and the windows never close
-
Good to hear the archive will have some new additions. Although, I find myself using BT most often now. Gotta love technology!
-
Go get it here (http://www.archive.org/audio/etree-details-db.php?id=6774).
-
How are you downloading from there. Are you downloading using free cache, web browser, download manager or ftp? What is your connection speed?
-
I have trouble downloading from there. My downloads either time out or are very slow.
-
It\'s killing me, I\'ve got a new 80GB HD and I haven\'t had the time to even install it yet. I have to modify my case to fit it. It will bring my total to 5 HD\'s and 270GB total storage. All I need now is my T3 connection (keep dreaming!!)

hey todd,
you know where to come to get more shows for archive.org your welcome to stop by any everning.
Matt

Yes, I will be adding them to Archive.org. I haven\'t added any in a while. Hell, I haven\'t even burned any new music for a while. I\'ve been very busy. Once I complete the d\'l of 8-7, I\'ll add it to Archive. Give me a week or so. I\'ll let ya know.
Peace
-
todd\'s our go-to guy when it comes to archive.org.. we\'ll see what he has to say about it..
-
Are you guys going to be adding the shows that you put up for torrent downloads to archive.org? I ask this because I dont have any luck when it comes to bittorrent especially 8-7, I couldn\'t even get it started. Thanks Dave
