great to hear! im real excited that the Biscuits still got life in em, they have written some really amazing **** and they know how to fuckin peak! hopefully sammy will quit school, hed be extremely tough to replace.
-
Starting from Camp Bisco the Biscuits will be back on the track of taking over the world. It is an over feeling in the crowd and fans that is starting again...even the harshest/jaded fans are excited about the Biscuits again...it\'s all happening.
Does this mean that you have another message board to spend your life on in addition to .info? I can\'t imagine how much time I would waste if I were fanatical about more bands. I know Igzi and Gregg are active on the Moe board too.

The shows from 12/31/04(one of the best ever) on have all been on a higher level than the last 3 years...since Fall \'02. Give \'em a couple weeks on a full tour and the Biscuits will be ON FIRE AGAIN!
That is good news. I could definitely tell that their was a sense of refreshment between the band and the fans this past weekend. Good for them, they put on one hell of a show and do play great for their musical genre/type.
Any idea on who will be playing drums? Has Sammy already dropped out of med school? Are they going to play only when he can play?

Steve - Show is downloaded. I can have a copy for you tomorrow if interested.
I thought Zuke\'s name was Gavin. Definitely think we will be seeing this cool cat around.
-
zuke...you are gonna have to refresh me on your real name...i wanna go with kyle....but anyway...if your boy gets into laguardia for 10pm, you could technically make it to new haven for the last part of the second set...with no traffic...but it all depends on where your final destination is.....ah well...till the next time....there is always....
porters (adrian\'s BIG BANG) thursday 7-28
porters (solo timmy) sunday 7-31
rocks of boat (breakfast) wed 8-3
block island (breakfast) thursday 8-4
corner pocket, orange,ct (good time boys) friday 8-5
martini\'s, orange, ct (fuzebox) saturday 8-6
josh and jess jack and jill (fuzebox, pencilgrass, the breakfast) sunday 8-7
and Timmy Tour Contnues into next week and beyond......
-
precious sleep, wish I got me some over the weekend.
-
yeah funny thing about that richter\'s show; i have to pick my friend up at laguardia probably around 10ish so i don\'t see it happening this week. he told me he would be in at 7:30 but it turns out he\'s leaving milwaukee (the indians pronounce it milay-wau-kay - the good land) at 7:30. i did check out the calendar though and saw that tim pretty much plays a free show every wednesday so you can expect to see me either next wednesday or at one of the other various side projects that seem to happen at least once a week.
as far as saturday night goes...i\'ve been called out by like four people about being asleep at 3. only after a biscuits show does someone get called out for sleeping at 3 AM. although i guess there was some serious raging going on.
-
Zuke....cool to meet you too....i have no idea how you slept through that madness on saturday>sunday.....serest hotel room in the place....raging till the midday sun....hope to see you at richters....talk to me after the show tomorrow to answer the question you asked me that night.......you know...."Is it worth going to see solo timmy?"....that and many more questions will be answered tomorrow.......

i too, am a big fan of Hot Air Balloon. too bad they never released it as a studio album like they said at one point. Mulberry\'s, Above The Waves, & HAB are great songs.
damn, more posts that make me feel like i belong on the east coast so i can get some rage outta these bones. im not big on drugs to keep me up, just beer and oxygen, and thats enough for me to hang allllll night long. hope down the road i can join some of you guys in some crazy times..... still havent decided on where to finish my college career... :chin:
>the breakfast own my soul.

zuke583 - Definitely nice to meet you and hang out for a little bit. Hot Air Balloon is a very good rock opera.
-
steve/spacey - it was great meeting you guys. hope you had a good time while you were in biscuits country this weekend. good chance i\'ll be seeing timmy on wednesday so i\'m sure i\'ll see you there.
oh and for "actual songs rather than just trancy jams" i suggest listening to some of the songs from their Hot Air Balloon rock opera.
hot air balloon
above the waves
the overture
voices insane
bazaar escape
mulberry\'s dream
the very moon....to name a few. they do get trancey sometimes, but for the most part, they\'re rock oriented.

.my friends I go to shows with, although moneymakers are some of the best nughuffers I have ever met...
-
but hey, theyre also called the Disco Biscuits, kind of like advertising to make sure everyone\'s \'rolling\' through the doors,
Hence why we now go to Breakfast shows and Psychedelic Breakfast shows. A good way not to stereotype a certain bands fan base based on the bands name.
-
We are comparing Apple and Oranges here. less then 100 people in a small room vs. 2500 people, outside, behind the soundboard a little left between 2 bars.
i wasnt talking about how many people were there. i was talking about blowing out someones eardrums vs overpowering a loud pa speaker while the band is playing LOUD.
-
I HAD FUN. Good to see you guys had some fun at least...my friends I go to shows with, although moneymakers are some of the best people I have ever met...cannot wait for Camp Bisco and beyond.
-

-
Sound is incredible. I saw you blow that kid and his girlfriends ear drums.
thats nothing, at plantation club stevie was standing right under the left pa speaker whistling. i was all the way in the back of the room and had no problem hearing him over the band. the mics back there picked it up as well.

Walsh (to me pre weekend): "get ready to see me as you have never seen me before"
He wasnt lying....Picture a bigger louder drunker Walsh than you have ever seen.....
His Kidz are a great group....and most of them were heading to ZEN (Brothers Past and tDB) in NYC last night 9pm - 5am.... all I could say was "are you ser?"
-
Is the Bisco scene really that obnoxious and comprised of unproductive wastoids?
No.....the kidz we were with...Walsh\'s crew of madcaps were truly kind and a whole lot of fun.........
I would assume that Walsh\'s band of Bisco fans is a fun group.
-
also...there was a kid there in our hotel room that rolled out his sleeping bag at about 2am and slept through all the madness....he was cool...definately a breakfast fan...I think he is Zuke on this board.....before he called it a night we spacey, walsh, and I were dropping some ser breakfast info on him....he should be around ......definately a strange scene (Bisco).... For all the bad that is in it there is a lot of good in it......sorry if all negative came out of the reviews...

No.....the kidz we were with...Walsh\'s crew of madcaps were truly kind and a whole lot of fun.........unproductive.....I dont know about that either, considering most of them are making more money in one night than I can make in a week....

i apologized and then they asked what the deal was with the ser shirt....i turned around and told them that the breakfast is what its all about....then they asked me if i ever saw/heard Particle....I just turned around and walked away...cause there was obviously no talking to those idiots...
-
listening to it on biscoradio.com, but a copy is almost there, you want one for the Gencs Records/Archives, the mad whistler heard over 2500 people, need to know the whistle and listen carefully. Sound is incredible. I saw you blow that kid and his girlfriends ear drums.
-
The Mad Whistler definately exploded some BiscoKids ear drums on Saturday.....
Spacey, did you get a copy already?
-
then I\'ll be damned if I know what was going on in that room. those kids that kept coming back had drugs written all over them
They will be at the puppet house in a couple of weeks.........so i guess we can ask them then
I guess so, not so sure if I want to know...
It has just been confirmed that you can hear the Mad Whistler on this show.

generic Xanax
spacey...I know the yellow pills that that kid had...but it wasnt that...Matty told me the name of what it was...and it wasnt that.....

absolutely a dark cloud hangin over the fanbase of tDB. that was apparent to me the first time i saw them in \'03, its too bad, really. but hey, theyre also called the Disco Biscuits, kind of like advertising to make sure everyone\'s \'rolling\' through the doors, which X being the gateway drug for the band as they have evolved is bound to crash. did you guys read that relix article a few issues ago?
in the end though it sucks that things seemed to take that route for tDB. i loved them from the start, but their flubs have grown and their lot scene feels gray.

I have heard the word Deemers(sp) a few times before at Phish shows, heard a story about it this weekend, some kids were smoking it on our roof patio deck, but have actually never seen the ****. Lots and lots of Pharmies.
Quote of the weekend, some random kid walking through the crowd during the show saying, "Hey, Got any drugs?", also, while I was waiting for the rest of the crew to come in, I spotted the same kid getting a bar, yelling, "Pharmies, Whose got my Pharmies?"
PFfft.....damned if i know....some kind of yellow powder.....something called DMT or "Deemsters" (I have heard of it and its trip, but still hope it never ever makes its way near me......
<<< Had no idea that it was yellow or powder. Can you snort it? or is just for smoking?
-
NOoooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

interesting, have you been to many DB shows? the recent stuff ive downloaded is weak compared to **** from \'99-\'03, i guess just generally speaking. ive felt the decline of them for awhile, but always glad to hear a tight show took place. they play Spaga, Mulberry\'s, or Haleakala? great tunes.
While I have heard more Bisco shows then I have gone to. Very good years for the Biscuits, outside of the short Brownstein leaving the band in 2001. Generally, and I am making this assumption, that the last year and a half that the band has been confronted by a very difficult and tough decision by Sammy Altman. The drummer leaving the band and going to medical school had to be a tough and difficult decision to gived and excepted for all the parties involved. They are very good at what they do, the style of music they play. I wouldn\'t give up a chance to see the Breakfast on August 26th & 27th to be at Camp Bisco even if it is the last(?) time the original drummer placyed with the band. Breakfast gigs are cheaper and less wookish. There is a shady cloud that hangs over that fanbase for the most part and I am so glad that I got to celebrate their 10th Anniversary with a interesting and dedicated fanbase.
DJ Omen had a set inside after, which I was not a witness to, but I guess no Conspirator conspired.
-
Sorry we missed you Mama....
Till the next time.....

glad to hear you guys made it alright..i didn\'t make it to jersey but definitely saw them put on a rediculous show in baltimore on friday:
Set I: Run Like Hell> Helicopters1> Run Like Hell2, Floodlights, Jigsaw Earth> Confrontation3> Jigsaw Earth4, Barfly
Encore: Hope> Munchkin Invasion1> Sound One
disco biscuits + baltimore = top ten sweatiest nights of my life (steve you would of been proud)
i also saw boys II men for a few minutes...ehhhh....
left artscape around 12 to head back down to va (usually a 35 minute drive) and there was a catastrophic accident on i495-all lanes closed. i ended up riding on the shoulder for a little while, did a uturn on the highway and had to take a back way home through dc (ghetto/projects area) woooohoooo

Alright on friday afternoon Madeline came to pick me and spacey up at my place in milford. We were heading down to Baltimore to meet up with Walsh and the crew for a post Bisco party before heading to Asbury Park for the show on Saturday.
We left milford at around 6pm and headed to Staven for supplies. After doing what needed to be done in Staven we headed southbound, with a stop at Utopia for road warpitz. The party in the car was confirmed and needed. After sitting in traffic and through an amazing lightening storm, we finally got to the house which was about 30min south of Baltimore at 2am. The party in the car was necessary in making the rough ride down. The house party was still raging. There must have been 20+ kids all over the place doing god knows what. We drank and hung out till about 7-8am..... A crazy crew indeed, but they were very welcoming to the 2 strangers (Spacey and I)
People started milling about at about 11am on Saturday morning. We hit the road and hit a dirty diner in Maryland. After realizing that we were still about 2+ hours away and it was like 2:30, we hit the road to Asbury Park. Getting to the show at about 5:30/almost 6ish we went right to will call. Spacey didnt have a ticket, but Walshys buddy who works at the stone poney got him in for free.....the will call line was stupid long but we walked in as the first song was starting...Funny how the kid with no ticket gets in first and for free....
The show. This was my 2nd disco biscuits show. They were tight and the sound was fantastic. Not knowing any of the tunes it was good to be with Walshy and the crew for updates and information. We were raging a nice spot by the bar with a great view of the stage. I respecet the Biscuits for their talent but its really not my thing... Little Lai, 7-11, Magellan, and Story of the World were my highlights because they were more like actual songs rather than just trancy jams..... It was a great night....I was rocking my Are You Ser? shirt and had a couple of kids come up to me asking me if I liked the Breakfast and that I should go to the puppet house next month....I just nodded my head and said, "oh yeah...I\'ll think about it"
The best part of the weekend for me was the hotel party after the show. Our room was ajoined to Allison (formerly of the Bill and Allison Connection). there was madness everywhere you looked.....the Nitrous room was by far the strangest thing I saw....too bad it got shut down. I dont the the Anderson Family Reunion was too happy about the crazy scene that was sharing the hotel facillities with them.....
All in all I was as close to being a wook as ever this weekend......and I think I will leave that to the experts a la Walsh Mahoney and company......
To close, it was a great time with great kidz. I hope to make it back soon, but most posatively definately NOT TOO SOON.....
Thanks again to Spacey for joining me on this journer and to Madeline for the ride and watchful eye. Also thanks to Walsh and the entire crew of madmen and madwomen that were so welcoming to us strangers to the party.....

Probably one of the tightest Biscuits shows I have seen. Place was packed, people were groovin\'. The Biscuits played rather short sets compared to what they normally do (I think), nice setlist. Overall it was a great time.
-
how was the Biscuits show?
-
i\'m surprsied you crazy kids got any sleep.
8 hours is an approx. guess. Stayed up to 7/8 last night, 6 the night before up and going by 10 both days. Walked into a ragin\' house on Friday night, there for 10 minutes before the power went out, killer lightening show, power finally went on by 6.

A Late Night Omen for the Biscuits
The Disco Biscuits? tenth anniversary party at the Stone Pony will extend late into the evening tomorrow night. Though the group?s performance will be an early one, 6-10PM in the venue?s outdoor performance space, the band has added a special indoor set by DJ Omen following their show. Since Omen is a member of Marc Brownstein and Aron Magner?s Conspirator project any number of Biscuit-family collaborations are also possible. Tonight, the Disco Biscuits will return to the road for the first time since May for a free performance at Baltimore?s ArtScape Festival.
