I also had the words completely wrong to me and bobby mcgee for YEARS, and then when I read the real lyrics, I was all depressed at how plain they were... I thought mine were much better :P

Post by: phishphanvt on May 27, 2005, 09:24:06 pm: this is the last one that I will admit to....then someone else can spill theirs.....there was a song (by Duran Duran i think....yes I grew up in the 80\'s!!) I don\'t know the name but I know my babysitter used to pollute my head with it.... I sang along to a song with the lyrics .... "her name is Rio and she doesn\'t understand" only to learn much later that the correct lyrics were..."her name is Rio and she dances in the sand" (or something along those lines) man....I need to get my ears checked!!

I\'ve usually have to read a song\'s lyrics in order to completely understand them and sing along. Even for some Breakfast songs, I was singing lines that didn\'t match the lyrics. Glad Dave created the Breakfast song lyrics thread!

Was sitting here listening to the Stone Church 5/19 show (thank you Jason-A), being a new commer to the breakfast I don\'t know some of the songs and was trying to sing/hummm my way through. Then started thinking about the dangers of singing songs you don\'t know the words to. My mind wandered further... recalled a song I thought I did know the words to...but didn\'t!

Know the song that goes "Dirty Deeds and they\'re done dirt cheap" ?As a child (and well into my adulthood) I sang it "Dirty D\'s and the dung dirt chief" What ever that means!! Duh!! Never knew I was singing it wrong till a boyfriend heard me and laughed hysterically!!

Any way...thats the end of the randomness!!
