Wow, Rogue brewery, that\'s pretty cool.  Heady place I bet.  There\'s a decent amount of Rogue in New England, if you go to the right packie they\'ll have 6-8 different ones.  The south still has a long way to go with craft beer though.

years ago when i was out west on a trip, my dad took me to the rogue brewery. if you are ever in oregon and nearby you should definitely check it out. i don\'t see much of it on the east coast or at least where i live though, sucks.

Besides Sam Adams, my favorite American breweries are:

Stone
Rogue
Victory
Dogfish Head

They each have lots of good brews.  If you haven\'t had at least 3 beers from each of these breweries, go out and try them.

The fact that guinness has less alcohol then all of the other choices should get it removed form the list :)

How much alcohol is in guinness??

Yes, he is ser.  American Guinness is only 4.2% alcohol, the lowest ABV of any beer on the market.  But it makes up for it in flavor.

Depends on the day/month. I tend to bounce around a bit. Lately its been a Newcastle kick. Over the summer it was Black Magics. During the fall it was Pete\'s Wicked Brown Ale (might have been called dark, but it was only nine bucks a twelve pack up the street, and it was pretty good). On weekends where money is an issue it leans towards some variety of Saranac. Will drink the yellow beers on ocassion (when its free).

Didn\'t read all of these posts, so I\'m sure these are repeats, but...

Colder Seasons:
Smuttynose Robust Porter
Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale
Guinness

Warmer Seasons:
Smuttynose IPA
Dead Guy (the Ale and the IPA)
The Dogfishhead 60 min IPA is great
Am enjoying that new Magic Hat IPA

When I want to get really drunk, and enjoy the drink as well:
Geary\'s Special Ale (watch out!)

I have to say they go down good with some Makers Mark too!

Since this is the beer thread, I suggest that Leith and Wayne try Firestone Double Barrell Ale (my recommendation to them exclusively is due to the regional limitations of the brand).

This is weird. So I read this post and something clicks in my head. I go downstairs open the fridge and yep that\'s the beer in the fridge. My roommate had told me to try one of the beers in the fridge a couple days ago but I spaced. well I guess i gotta try it now. Trippy!

Bigfoots get you pretty fuct, and they\'re quite tasty if you\'re into the barleywine.  I think they\'re around 9.6% alc.  I forgot to mention the wonderful brewery of Smuttynose, located in Portsmouth, NH.  They make a very robust assortment of beers.  Schoal\'s Pale Ale is pretty dece, as is thier Brown Dog Ale.  Can\'t forget about Rogue, out in Oregon.  The obvious Dead Guy Ale is superb, along with the Honey Cream ??? (can never remember the full name)..

to many to choose from.  Out of the given list of brewers, I prefer Long Trail and Magic Hat.  Guiness on draught is better than any meal of the day.  Magic Hat HIPA is my new seasonal favorite.  Long Trail Hit The Trail Ale is dank.  Rainbow River Trout Ale is delicious but have never seen it outside of Vermont.  For some reason I have an affliction for Vermont beers.  Other good beers include- Dogfishead 60 Min. IPA, Sammy Smith\'s Organic Lager, and Harpoon UFO (unfiltered, brah)  oh yah- Dogfishhead makes a 40 oz bottle of malt liquor that is ridiculously tasty but pricey.  Have only seen them on the outskirts of Camden, but I guess they would be more prevalent in the Delaware/Dirty Jersey area...  sorry for all the words, but beer is inspiring
