Question Mark
Dig
GBFBITS
what the..?!?
Have never liked Question Mark since the first time I heard it... not "Breakfast" enough for me...
My dislike for Dig & GBFBITS is a direct result of the rate of overplayment.
The Chase is working it\'s way on that list too.... I heard it twice this weekend (2 shows) along with IG and Sleeping Beauty.
-
not sure if I really have a least favorite song but these are my " i can do without list" currently at the time;
Inner Glimpse-way overplayed, like it but have to much of it
Phaddy Boom Baddy-should stay a 4/20 special or a rarity
Vera Street-still can\'t dig it, its ok but not for me

Fairy and No regret dont do much for me...
-
i was surprised to see The Chase as someone\'s pick too, very surprised actually
-
for me in just depends on how much they play it. beef barley seems to pop up almost every show. I know if I went like 10 shows without beef i would miss it. would go like this
1. fairy
2. no glove
food for thought now that is just crazy not to like that one, i respect everyones thoughts

is there a thread for favorite breakfast songs? it would be kinda weird to have a least favorite song thread only.
A personal superlative thread has a tendency to resurrect itself on a semi-annual basis.
It usually includes one\'s top-5 and bottom-5 Breakfast songs as well as one\'s picks for top-5 and bottom-5 cover songs played by The Breakfast.

least (no paticualr order) =
love lake
language of the gods
not a fan of Language..i love it.....different strokes i suppose
-
i felt that way about fresh cut too but it\'s grown on me ALOT recently.....i was actually fired up when they played it in woosta
same here. upon first listen, I wasn\'t a big fan of it. It grew on my really quick and now I can\'t wait to hear it!
it\'s definitely catchy and sticks in my head at various times; but somehow it has this "credits rolling" "thanks and have a good night" kind of vibe to me... like the show\'s got to end at some point. I suppose it\'s growing on me a bit but still is my least fav.
-
If I\'m there none really. On disc NGNL and Drunk Monk get the skip alot.

Fresh Cut is the first new breakfast original in some time.... its like that old analogy that if you eat oyster crackers all day every day of your life and then someone gives you a box of ritz....**** those ritz are gonna be the best tasting **** you ever tasted....(love the eddie murphie version of that one) classic...
anywho....
However, I dont think we will have to wait as long as we did for new material....

before the worcester show i was telling my friend i hope they dont play fresh cut, turns out the played it that night and again at nectar\'s. i know a lot of people get mad pumped with fresh cut, but it\'s all a matter of opinion. i think dig, no glove, and great big firey ball are all great songs.

i hate critisizing any breakfast song because they are basically all the ****, but fresh cut definetly doesnt do it for me like it does for others, i\'d personally rather hear any other song. fresh cut\'s really the only song i\'m not pumped for out of all the songs. i guess they can\'t ALL be extraordinarily headdie

i think i like [Dig], but it\'s so retardedly overplayed that it\'s made me cringe when i hear it now.. :)
Dig is my least favorite. On the positive side, things have taken a HUGE step up since they started opening with Doughboy and Inner Glimpse rather than Dig and Fiery Ball.
-
...Food for Thought
didn\'t see that one coming. lol

Wtf=ser

Birdmask On ****!!!!!
-
im just curious, why do so many dislike What The Funk? from the first time i heard it i really liked it, and i think its sick live.. 3.12.05 says it all folks!
-
God forbid Breakfast stops playing Phaddy Boom Baddy!!!!
who said that??!
Anyway my pick would have to be Vera St., except that it gives me a chance to go outside and roast a doobie during long sets.
If B-Fast wants to slow down the pace for a song they can always bust out Question Mark... always been a fan of that one.
-
fresh cut
-
ngnl=the worst.
bring it back to instrumental
-
well I would say that if the rug was "marsh mellow" then it was maybe a green and comfortable rug to lay on.....or if it is a "marshmallow rug" then I would say it would be white and fluffy....
as for the "pillow made from someone else\'s blood" i would say that means that the person with whom the pillow was bought for/with is no longer in the picture, and there is a new lover in the scene.....
Personally I love Vera St. maybe because it is really the Breakfast\'s only true ballad....
-
vera st..way too corny
i know there has been some talk about vera st. getting people hot--i think it\'s very cheesy and not so breakfast-ish..
strange lyrics:
Lying down on a marsh mellow rug with a
Pillow made from someone else?s blood
:hscratch:
-
They have performed NGNL substituting "Wah Wah, Wah Wah" for all the lyrical parts...thats the way it should be and remain....
-
mine=no glove no love
like the riffs, hate the lyrics
I don\'t even really like the riffs in this song. I mean their ok but good time to hit the head at a show.
-
I\'m gonna add....
Drunk Monk Bar
Taboo or not Taboot
and if we\'re leaving out the jam, then GBFBITS too.
-

ive never even heard of ZA until now, a ballad for pizza im assuming?
oh, and phaddy\'s lyrics are corny but i still love the music in that tune, im a huge reggae fan though.
-
Vera Street
:vomit2:
-
Personally my vote goes with Phaddy or Za too.
I don\'t know what ZA sounds like. I heard it live at the beginning on 2004 but don\'t remember it.
-
I\'m following Dave\'s standard of not considering jam potential.
Phaddy Boom Baddy
Beef Barley (we\'re not keeping jam potential in mind, remember)
Dig
Superfly Phatty Fat
No Glove, No Love
-
No Glove, No Love? What\'s the problem? Spinal Tap sang the praises of a Big Bottom, Jellyfish had My Best Friend, Zappa gave us Titties\'n Beer, so why shouldn\'t the boys have a daft sex song? ;)
Personally my vote goes with Phaddy or Za too.
-
Peck, don\'t like Dig, huh?
i think i like the song, but it\'s so retardedly overplayed that it\'s made me cringe when i hear it now.. :)
-
Superfly Phaddy Pfffffft
No Glove
No Regret
-
No Glove No Love...Lyrics Should Be Forgotten....its a great tune if written by a bunch of 6th or 7th graders for a Health Ed. project...The music rules, but the lyrics turn that tune into a piece of dung....
-
Phatty Boom Baddy tops (or bottoms) my list. Needs to be shelved, right next to Za!!!
-
fairy, vera st, and gravity
-
the Vermont Song
-
hahahhaha.....forgot about Za that one tops the list
Peck, don\'t like Dig, huh?
-
going by songs alone, and NOT taking into account what kind of jam potential they have, here\'s my bottom 5:
-Dig
-No Glove No Love
-Phaddy Boom Baddy
-What The Funk
-Za
Honorable mention: Great Big Fiery Ball In The Sky
-
Just wondering what everybodys least favorite breakfast tune is?
mine=no glove no love
