Tickets are 39.50 Gen adm - not a bad deal for what you get.
Mgmt would have to be out of their f-ing minds not to take down toads if it\'s available and the band is in the region. Get Umphreys in there for a sit in - totally sick show.
-
I would take a bullet for the breakfast.
-
between Cheese, Keller & Umphreys this should be a great show...

The first time I saw NM they did not impress me in the least. I thought they stepped over each other waaaay too much and when they did click it was too heavy a mishmash. I was def. in the camp of NM some good musicians and maybe a good band if they ever figure **** out but was not going to see them again ON purpose. I then saw them opening for some other bands and it seemed they were learning so I being the music lover and AVID supporter of the smaller bands out there trying their best, decided to go to a Winston\'s show of theirs and they were a blast. So I went again ON purpose and was not bummed.
Steve I understand that many on this board survive on not letting things go and that\'s cool. I will continue to point out what a waste it is to hate. Some poet by the initials R.H. wrote something along those lines in a song awhile ago and I try to remember it everyday.

I\'ve only seen New Monsoon once, when they opened up for Tea Leaf Green. The place was pretty empty. Needless to say I was there for TLG, and the New Monsoon set did nothing for me, except make me even more antsy to hear the real deal. To much going on without enough order or texture. That is what I remember about them.
-
Have any of you seen New Monsoon?
Because the 5 times I\'ve seen them they were alot of fun and that Tabla player is insane!! Don\'t hate that which you do not "get" just let it go and let others enjoy.
Oh and if it came down to it I\'m sure many on this board would pitch in to "help the cause" if for some reason in some godawful backwater town The Breakfast were pinched. Be real.
Either way this is a breakfast board, and an INTERNET MESSAGE BOARD....so you must know with your thousands of posts that nobody just "lets things go" especially if its stuff they do not like/agree with....come on guy...I thought you were a bit sharper than that....
I would take a bullet for the breakfast.

it\'s not the \'helping\' i have a problem with, it\'s the \'asking for it\' part.. the way i look at it is, they broke the law, and got caught. how is that my fault?
i wonder if they request donations when they get a speeding ticket on the way to a show too..
lol Yeah I see your point. It\'s just that you never know how some of these things go down. I always think of the "dope bust" of GD in New Orleans that inspired some of Truckin\'. AND I DON\'T TRUST COPS. So maybe they were up against it and having been on the side of needing bail believe me you look anywhere you can for $$ to stay OUT of jail.
-
all the money buys the band a brand new bag of headies.confirmed

SCI sucks sucks sucks!! i will never see them again..sorry to offend anyone who is into that cheesy shizzle but it just isn\'t for me
that\'s all i have to say about that

nm=punks.confirmd
-
someone told me that the band sent out an e-mail to people on thier mailing list asking for PayPal donations to "help the cause"...
:sigh:
-
n00b monsoon recently was "busted" down in Asheville backstage before going on at Stella Blue\'s. A bunch of stateys got them for possesing an oz. of some form of smokable plant life. Down there, this is supposedly enough to imply intent to distribute charges.. someone told me that the band sent out an e-mail to people on thier mailing list asking for PayPal donations to "help the cause"... I find this to be quite an atrocity.. one night\'s pay from that big summer classic should take care of thier damages..
-
how does new monsoon get this gig?
seriously.
They are on SCI\'s label .

This is a prepackaged tour....right down to NewMonsoon opens all shows, SCI closes all shows...the rest rotate.
I like the idea of an aftershow.....will think about it.
-
for willie and bob...the stage was in center field and it was GA on the field...and in the stands...HORRIBLE beer vending situation...but I plan on doing all my drinkin pre-show anyway...
-
toad\'s looks open as of right now.. that\'d be fantastic.
-
Anyone have any idea what the seating arrangement will be? Open field, reserved seats, let\'s go!
-
Breakfast should play in the lot until they get shut down, then bring the gear to either Toad\'s or Cafe 9 for the 11-1:30 aftershow party.
-
I wonder if tourheads will follow this tour. At $45 bucks a night for a ticket plus $2.50/gallon gas that\'s a lot of fuckin grilled cheese. Look for a big comeback of coke, E, and nitrous on lots and at festivals as heads try to make enough money to stay on the road this summer.
Yale is the last stop of the run for this tour. i can only imagine what will be going on down at yale field by then....bunch of spun out wooks, kids puking all over themselves, selling their girlfriends, drugs, and crystals , etc... Its should be a freakshow, and I will most likely be there as long as the breakfast aren\'t anywhere within even a somewhat reasonable distance......
should be an interesting summer.....

wowsers.. expect high priced tickets and high priced custies.. just my .02
I tried to check ticket prices, but i couldnt locate them. i would normally not go see sci, but if they are gonna bring the wook-fest right to my backyard...waste haven,ct...i cannot pass it up... i would pay as high as 45 for ticket to this...or would definatly hock my PS2. Though I have been saving the PS2 pawn to "gabe" my way to a breakfast show when necessary....
-
see ya there....
hubbiehubbiehubbiehubbbsssssssssssssssss

with the exception of YMSB, everyone else on this "Big Classic Summer Tour" or whatever it\'s called, is on the SCI Fidelity Records.. supposedly the rumored bill to book this show is around $175,000.. wowsers.. expect high priced tickets and high priced custies.. just my .02

still gonna be a sick time down at yale field....
they should set up in the main parking lot that morning....I will make sure there is a spot saved for the van...the willie nelson and bob dylan show down there last summer was AMAZING! Willie\'s set was a religious experience as i hovered in a helicoptor as the setting sun blazed into centerfield and onto willie and his band for the entire set. Still spinnin from the Will It Go Round In Circles....
During bobs set, I had puffed all the beasters i got in the lot and at one point during tweedle dumb and tweedle dumber, I think, I was smokin boomers when this like 45 year old guy, who must have thought i was puffin nug for some reason, asked me for a hit. highlarious to see the bewildered look on his face saying to himself, "this dont taste like any marijuana i ever tasted". Shortly after that, I was rockin hard with dylan and the band in a circle of strangely attired people talking german to eachother....oh what a day at yale field...
-
ah.. doesn\'t look like that\'ll happen.. this is a national tour - BIG Summer Classic..
