Badfish is good ****. I saw them last week up in RI, shoulder to shoulder. I know the drummer, got to take some pics at the show. definitely an awesome b-day show.

It\'s Ice: no page = no sale.

btw, thats a joke. im going to CO for a week so i dont wanna come back to nasty pm\'s leith, and then appear as if im dodging bullets or something.
but admit it, you want to pull on that floppy red \'do\' from behind.
:wave2:
off to the rockies..................

leith just wants to pack some trey fudge.
-
good points made by the two of you, i give in...

Maybe Trey forgot the lyrics bc he never really sang them, Page did...hmmm...I liked the show for the potential some of those jams had and after another month of practice bf the first "real" spring show and then the summer tour they will be good...I liked it on many listens...I think I just agreed with Leith...will wonders never cease...
:Walsh buries hatchet:
Have a nice evening Leith.
:Leith throws dirt on that hatchet:
Ummm not sure what else to say other than I gotta think with a united fanbase The Breakfast are gonna blow up in \'05.
Peace out WALSH

i understand that this is the first time playing together in public, but my concern was not the band, as much as the recording. I love Trey and what he has done, but I hate it when recordings sound like ****.
as far as the flubs, you are a professional musician and I can\'t nor will I accept he\'s only human any more. He knew well before he went on stage that It\'s Ice was going to be played, be prepared man. He\'s been in music his whole life, there is no excuse. oh, and I will probably hit atleast one of his shows up.
-
poor quality on this show.
it isn\'t that impressive, not looking forward to the Trey tour. kinda sad, I always looked forward to the summer because of touring. but, looks like I won\'t be following this **** around.
Trey flubbed the lyrics in It\'s Ice! if he can\'t remember the song, why play it?
It\'s the band\'s 1st performance sheesh. If he had not flubbed the lyrics maybe the focus would be more positive and on the SICK jamming that went on in the It\'s Ice HMMMM? I liked what I heard though I cannot get those horn lines out of my head on the TAB songs. I won\'t "follow this **** around" either but if Trey comes within 100 or so miles of me I\'m gonna go see him for sure.

Folks, these are Treys\' songs, yes it pisses ME off that he didnt want to play them with Phish anymore, but he needs to find his bearings, anyone thats been to a Trey or Phish show knows that he can play them,,,, with the feeling that it\'s different every time and that\'s why you go see them or any other jamband, how many times have I played a Phish tune and loved it...a billion,. we just wish he didnt break up Phish and then play their songs his first time out(drunk rambling)
-
Yeah Coventry setlists did not convey any obvious appreciation to the Phans but what do we know abt those songs and the band\'s relationships with those songs? Anyway Breakfast rule all faces hopefully coast to coast for many years to come.
-
good call leith, i can see clearly now (uhh, the rain is gone). honestly, that all makes sense and youre right, hes human. that should say it all. the only thing i still dont understand is the coventry setlists, couldve played a fluffhead or a forbin, something that wouldve been special and out of the ordinary from the rest of the shows post hiatus. whateva, like you said ill just be happy we\'re able to see the breakfast right now at a peak thats hopefully gonna be getting taller for years to come.
-
To each his own Gordo but since when did buying a ticket GUARUANTEE a good show? That\'s why you are a Breakfast fan now right? Because pretty much every show is stellar. Well you /we are lucky to be catching this band now when they have the energy to give their all EVERY night. Age/drugs and being considered more than human(@ times ;)) by tens of thousands of people may have had a bit to due w/ Trey\'s failings in the latter days of Phish. We may be lucky to avoid that w/ The Breakfast but no one can predict the future so who knows Wah may corrupt Timmy beyond repair someday who the heck knows? My point is Trey may have dissapointed you but to be sooo bitter seems like a waste and if Trey is ready to get ser again too bad you\'re gonna miss out. As for Coventry I think their is a thread somewhere in which I described why I was not gonna go and did not go.
-
(I will still talk **** abt his playing if when I see him he dogs it though).
= the last 5 times i saw phish play. i agree, he did wonders for my musical growth, but come on guy, were you at coventry? definitely just left a terrible taste in my mouth and a bloody ass muddy foot. i thought i got over it a few months ago but its still tough to swallow. i just felt like the last phish show/tour \'ever\' couldve had a lot more put into it, esp with the ridiculous circumstances that 75,000 strong trekked through. those coventry shows were just a recap of that last tour, and they ended at what, 12? and trey clearly got **** up beyond playing ability, so i lost a lot of care for seeing him play anymore and realized that just because he wrote incredible tunes awhile back doesnt mean im gonna just give him my praise when hes simply on stage. PERFORM! thats why you made millions in the first place! ill stick to it, **** trey. call me childish, i dont give a ****.

Thanx Wah, How was the Bday?
-
Sorry maybe it\'s that I had 10 years following GD AND 10 years of following Phish but it seems to me ANYONE that is saying **** Trey for doing whatever the **** the man wants too is being pretty damn childish and ungrateful for the YEARS OF SOUL LIFTING, MIND MELTING, music HIS band gave to us for 20 YEARS. Yeah it sux Phish is gone but resentment towards Trey will get one NOWHERE. I for one am very glad that he did what he needed to do in the hopes that it will bring forth better efforts from him in the musical sphere he had ruled for so long. It\'s not like he went and died on y\'all enjoy what he has to offer now and get over it. just my thought. VIVA TREY!!!!!!(I will still talk **** abt his playing if when I see him he dogs it though).

ok,first of all,if the dude wrote the tunes,he should be alowed to play them....

trey shouldn\'t be allowed to play phish songs, imo.
eer what? u can not be ser. Not be able to play his own songs? That is laughable Dave. Come on.
completely ser, leith.. maybe i\'m just bitter, but like joe said, trey wanted nothing to do with phish anymore.. to me, trey playing phish songs now is like a kick in the balls..
absolutely, especially when theyre songs like it\'s ice, a tune that hardly ever made it into a phish set. he got tired of playing the same **** because the setlists post hiatus were very unoriginal, it seemed like they stopped learning new phatty covers, and their new songs sucked ass for the most part. few segues, longer jams that took forever to get somewhere, and oh yeah, trey forgetting how to play the songs that he \'got sick of playing\'. i think HIS total lack of effort put into phish was a complete crock of **** and a slap in the face to fans, it became a job for him and he gave everyone the finger, including his bandmates.
relix.com is down right now, cant wait til it gets back up so i can read trey\'s first interview since phish\'s breakup. i got a paragraph in an email and he says that he "loves phish so much more now, and he hangs out with page, mike, and fish all the time and theyre really good friends." something else about "resentment was building up inside of me and now i can look at it and be okay with yada yada yada yada yada." he says this **** all the time and then goes back in the cycle of basically hating everything about phish, if you ask me i think he should lay off the blow and sincerely put some effort back into the music rather than being a half-ass rock & roll star. i appreciate the incredible **** that man wrote for so long, but right now, **** trey.

Word, **** Trey! confirmed. he changes his mind about **** more often than freddie smokes a bong

Yet. I lost a lot of admiration listening to the Coventry shows
-
I would think that playing old tunes with new people would help give Trey a fresh new take on his music. If this helps Trey fall in love with playing these songs again then more power to him.
At least he did not turn them into rap songs like Mickey Hart and Fire On the Mountain
nail on head!

I\'m kinda in agreement with you on that one. Yes, they are his songs and obviously he\'s allowed to play whatever he wants. But, I remember reading an interview around the time Phish first announced the breakup, and he said how he didn\'t want to go around the country playing the same old Phish songs all the time. Hmmm, and yet they still show up in his setlist rotations? Something\'s not quite right there.
