Title: i hate my job thread
Post by: Marcial on March 14, 2005, 08:10:51 pm: I like my job. But, if all jobs paid equally I wouldn\'t be doing it... I would be wrangling reptiles ala Steve Irwin. Unfortunately, I\'m pretty capitalistic and materialistic (not in such a way where I would ever look down on people who aren\'t or don\'t care, but I like expensive ****! lol) and the money at my job is great, and that keeps me motivated. Some days, I wish I could say **** it and do something that I really LOVE to do, but since working with reptiles wouldn\'t support the lifestyle I want, if I did it, I would be pissed about being broke! lol... it\'s all a trade-off in life... it\'s up to each individual where values are placed and how much you can tolerate doing something "for the money." If I could raise my salary by 25% by digging ditches, I would do it in a second... what can I say... I guess I\'m a bottom line kinda guy...

Post by: derickw on March 14, 2005, 04:20:33 pm: I like my jobs but i\'m really starting to need some personal time. I work 65-75 hr. a week plus go to shows and work on photos. Just remember there are people out there who have it worse than you and no matter how bad you think things are they can always get worse.

Post by: leith on March 14, 2005, 03:06:40 pm: I\'ll tell you this I quit working as an LVN/LPT being paid upwards of $20-25/hr. when I was 26. I just could not live w/ myself anymore being a part of the scam that is called Healthcare in this Country.
Now @ 35 I am back to making that and more in a job that I absolutely LOVE!!

It took years of going job to job all the while working on my skills as a Lighting Designer. Yeah I racked up a grip of debt but screw \'em what are they gonna get when I\'m gone? Nothing! So I pay my debts as I can but do not let $$ run my life as much as I can. So all I\'m saying is that quitting a well paying job is scary but it can be the best thing you have ever done.

Post by: Gordo on March 14, 2005, 02:54:17 pm: like you said before though, you get paid really well.. not gonna say im pulling in 6 figures anytime soon, or even 5 for that matter. which is why after 6 months im now going back to serving tables so i can build up some dough for summer excursions. my job\'s fun, it just doesnt cut it. (if that makes you feel any better)

Well than you have plenty of time to make mistakes. If you hate the job so much, take a risk and quit. In the long run you will find that having a job that you like/love that pays maybe less is waaaaaaay more fulfilling.

Post by: Gordo on March 14, 2005, 02:43:14 pm: ha, my job consists of playing Knockout or Monopoly for a few hours.. occassionally I\'ll watch a Harry Potter flick or make pictures with goldfish on a gym floor. the only thing that sucks is every once in awhile ill get a fifth grade smart ass who shats all over the floor in the bathroom and i gotta pick up. :poopself:

you ever seen that commercial where that chick clicks the pop-up on her screen that says "Hate Your Job-> click here" or whatever... then the whole office blows up with, Congratulations-- you just got the pink slip virus! That should be you right now, only your reaction would be one of happiness, not fear.

Yes!!!

I think hate is an understatement for my job. A day doesn\'t go by that I feel like I want to go to work. I actually waited till 3am to call out of work after the Call show (3/12).

So I am with you 100% on this "Hate My Job"!

I really hate my job and probably will be fired this evening for not showing up yesterday. But, knowing my luck, they will just give me more hours and tell me to **** off.
